1844.
In 1880 Mercer County, Missouri, William Helton 45 and Eliza 39 have John 12,
Elizabeth 11, Priscilla 9, James 7, Birdie 4, and Caroline 1. - Eliza and all
kids born in Missouri.
In 1900 Harrison County, Missouri William Helton, Nov 1840 Indiana and Elina
May 1844 Kentucky have had nine children, six living. Carrie, Nov 1881
Missouri and Enos May 1885 Missouri are with them. Next household is James
-July 1875 - and Minnie Helton
Birdie in 1900 is still in Mercer County, born Dec 1875, living with
grandparents James and Eliza Harris.

Orangle Helton are shucking corn for W.L. Dunlap."

1917 Center - Yuma County "Sadie Edwards stayed all night at Grandpa Helton's
Saturday."

January 5, 1912, Birdie Helton married R.L. Clayton,. May 13, 1924 Birdie
Clayton married John W. Slover.
"E. Helton of forty miles south of Yuma came to Wray Friday to witness the
marriage of his sister, Miss Berdie Helton." "Robert Clayton of Kansas
City, Mo., and Miss Berdie Helton of south of Yuma came in Friday afternoon as
'two' and left that evening for Kansas City as 'one'."
Birdie B Slover June 3-1877 - Feb 21, 1944 is buried in Yuma.
1914 "John Helton is farming on Birdie Clayton's place."
Birdie B. Clayton (formerly Birdie B. Helton) proved up two quarters in 22, 2S 47W in 1917,

Enos married Emma Lenora Custer January 4, 1911 in Yuma.
1914 "Charlie Edwards has been helping Enos Helton plaster his house."
1916 "Mrs. Enos Helton's father and mother from Vernon were over Friday
night."
Enos proved up two quarters in 22, 2S 47W in 1919.
Enos registered in Yuma County, saying he was born May 1, 1885, farmed, and
nearest relative was Emma Mae Helton of Yuma.
In 1920 Yuma County Enos, 34, Missouri and Emma L. 26, Colorado, have Gerald
R. 8 and Elva V. 6, both in Colorado.
Gerald died 1926, and is buried in Yuma.
Elva Viola Helton married Jack Edwards Brumagin October 22, 1935.
ROCKPORT, Texas -- Elva Viola Brumagin, 88,
died Thursday (Jan. 17, 2002) in Rockport.
She was born July 2, 1913, at Yuma, Colo.
She lived in McCook for 43 years, and
wintered in Rockport until 1992, when she
made it her permanent residence.
She was a member of Memorial United
Methodist Church where she taught school and
later placed her membership at First United
Methodist Church in Rockport.
While in McCook she was a member of the
Rebekah Lodge and served as president of the
BPO Does. In Rockport, she served as vice
president of the Women's Club of Aransas
County.
She was preceded in death by her husband,
Jack E. Brumagin in 1996; and by one son,
Tracy Brumagin in 1993.
Survivors include one son, Richard and
wife, Mona Brumagin of Los Angeles, Calif.;
one daughter, Lana Robinson of Reno, Nev.;
five grandchildren; and five
great-grandchildren.
Services will be Tuesday, 1 p.m., at
First United Methodist Church in Rockport.
Burial will be private.
Memorials may be made to the Women's Club
of Aransas County Inc., 1104 E. Concho,
Rockport, TX 78382.
Charlie Marshall Funeral Homes and
Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
1967 Garden City Kansas "Mrs. Elva Brumagin, McCook, Neb., left Tuesday for
her home after spending the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben A.
Duncan, 401 Washington" Ben is buried in Valley View Garden City.

Mrs. Emma L. Duncan, 79. McCook, Neb., former Garden City
resident, died Monday at McCook. Born Jan. 10, 1893, in Vernon, Colo.,
she. was married to Ben Duncan June 21, 1930, in Stillwater, Okla. Mrs.
Duncan had moved to McCook within the past year from Garden City to be
near her daughter. She was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church,
Garden City. Survivors include the widower; a daughter, Mrs. Elva.
Brumagin McCook; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Carpenter Funeral Home, McCook,
with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery, McCook.

Enos HILTON divorced Ida Hilton in 1932 in Denver.
Emma Helton married William Shafer July 23, 1927 in Brighton - but this Emma
was born in 1907
Emma E. Hilton married Thomas C. Brown October 13, 1928 in Denver.
Enes Helton married Minnie E. Hoover Dec 30, 1937.

Sarah Elizabeth Helton married George McClelland Cain September 8, 1888 in
Harrison County, Missouri.
JOHN
1915 Yuma "John Helton is building a residence on the lots recently purchased
by him in Geer's Addition."
John Jefferson Helton (one tree said he married Mary Brown earlier)
married Lena Mae Krinelmeyer March 4, 1916 in Yuma. -
In 1910 Yuma County John is widowed, with Orangel 9, Dolkha 6, and Nellie 3.
In 1920 Yuma County John 48 and L. Mae 39 have Orangel J. 19 Missouri ,
Dolhha J. 16 Iowa, Millie 13 Iowa, Fred D. 3, Ernest D, nineteen months, and
baby boy four months, all three Colorado.
In 1930 Yuma County they just have Freddie D. 13, Earnest D. 12, Walter D.
10, and Otto O. 8.
FindAGrave has Lena dying April 26, 1951, John dying June 25, 1951,
both buried in Canon City.

J. J. HELTON SUCCUMBS TODAY John Jefferson Helton, retired dry
land farmer, succumbed at 3:00 a.m. Friday at a local hospital to a
heart condition that had undermined his health for a five year
period. Death came only 8 hours after his admission for hospital
treatment. His wife, the former Lena May Kriemelmeyer, preceded him
in death on April 22, two months to the day.
Born December 19, 1871, at Pleasanton, Iowa, he had passed the
halfway mark of his 79th years. In later years, he lived in Missouri
and came to Colorado 36 years ago to settle in Yuma. It was there on
March 4, 1916, that he and his late wife were married.
Ten years ago, after he retired from active farming, the couple
moved to Canon City to be near a son, Fred, and other relatives. The
family home is at 653 No. Diamond.
Surviving are 7 children: Fred of Canon City, Ernest D. of
Denver, Walter D. of Gastonia, Mo., Carolina, Otto E. and Dolphia of
Denver, Orangel of Reno, Nevada and Mrs. Nellie Dahnke of Colby,
Kansas; 6 grandchildren; 2 sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Cain of Canon City
and Mrs. Carrie Hamilton of Seattle, Washington; 2 brothers, Edgar
and Enos of Canon City.
Funeral arrangements are being delayed pending the arrival of
relatives but will be announced later by the Hold Mortuary.

Dolpha married Pauline Baughman April 25, 1931, and Dolpha D. married Hazel
Ragsdale August 11, 1936.
In 1940 Dolpha is a paper hanger in Denver, married to Hazel 31, Oklahoma,
with Lloyd 9, Arkansas.
Dolph and Hazel M. are in Denver in 1956, living at 3156 Gilpin.
JAMES
James Edgar married Minnie Adelle FOOTE January 1, 1895 in Harrison County,
Missouri, and is buried in lakeside Cemetery, Canon City. 1873-1955
1909 "The following persons arrived in one party from Davis City, Iowa last
Sunday, and will take up homesteads somewhere in the country west of Vernon:
Levi Easton, J.L. Hensley, Nick Kindred, Nelson Standraugh, Mary A. Eastin,
James E. Helton and William Williams."
James proved up land in 17 and 18, 2S 46W in 1912, witnesses Willie C.
Foot, Mack Cain, Parker Hamilton, and John Helton, all of Happyville.
James' daughter Bertha Bernice Helton married Art Hadlock April 23, 1917
(C.A. Hadlock, born Illinois 1883, came to Yuma County 1888) in Yuma. Son
Ben Fay Helton , born May 31, 1911 in Yuma -per one tree - died 1963 in
Hitchcock County, Nebraska.
Daughter Bessie Juanita Helton born Oct 16, 1916 in Yuma.
In 1920 Yuma County James 46 and Minnie 42 have Glen 22, Anna P. 17, James H.
14, Emma L. 12, Leroy 8, Bessie W. 6, Edwin E. 3 last three kids born in
Colorado.
In 1930 Hale, Yuma County James 53 and Minnie 50 have Bennie 19, Edwin 14,
and Howard 8.
In 1940 Canon City James 67 and Minnie 63 with Howard 17 have no occupations.
Howard Wayne Helton born June 10, 1922 in Yuma, died 1989 in Hamilton County
Kansas.
