Mary died about 1875, per one tree.
Cassa married William Henry Klontz in 1874 in Stephenson County, and died there about 1884. Laura married William J. Shade and died in 1921 in Stephenson County. Ida married James Allen and died in Stephenson County in 1927. John Calvin Frain married Adelle Rote in 1889, and was in Clay County Iowa in 1900-1930, and is buried there.

She's with them in 1920 in Pocahontas County, Iowa, and is buried in Pocahontas County Laurens Cemetery -1850-1922 "Hannah T. (GOULD) Mick ". (James M. Mick 1839-1931 is buried in Dickinson County - the FAG listing says their marriage ended in divorce)

| Mrs. Zoa Stabenow - October 4, 1966 Mrs. Henry (Zoa) Stabenow, Orangeville, died Tuesday evening in Crestview Manor Nursing Home, where she had been a patient since June 10.......Mrs. Stabenow was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Lena; Order of the Eastern Star, Winslow; and Rebekah Lodge, Orangeville......She was born in Waddams Township on April 11, 1879, the daughter of William and Catherina (De Frane) Klontz. She was married to Samuel F. Stabenow on June 15, 1893, at McConnell. He preceded her in death Nov. 27, 1933. Her second husband Henry Stabenow, whom she married June 2, 1937, died in October 1955... ------------------------------------------------------- October 1955 Henry D. Stabenow, 79, Orangeville, died of shock due to severe internal injuries at Deaconess Hospital Friday evening 2 hours after he was struck by a car. The fatal accident happened moments after he alighted from a bus at the junction of Rock Grove Road and Highway 26 in Orangeville. Stabenow, who was a retired farmer, got off a Badger Bus Co. bus which had stopped on the shoulder of Highway 26 to let off passengers. He alighted on the right front side of the northbound bus, walked several feet to the front of the bus and then began walking west across the highway, according to Deputy Sheriff Harold Hille who was called to the accident scene near his son's Station. As Stabenow stepped onto the highway, he was struck by a northbound auto operated by Paul Nath, 63, Baileyville. The accident happened near a service station operated by Stabenow's son, Delbert, who said he heard the tires of Nath's car squeal as he stopped. Stabenow was thrown about nine feet by the impact of the collision. He was taken to Deaconess Hospital by ambulance at 6:45 p.m. suffering from numerous fractures. He died at 9:20 p.m. due to shock resulting from hip, arm, leg and internal injuries. Jury Impaneled The body was taken to Burmgton- Cramer Funeral Home in Orangeville where funeral arrangements are being completed. County Coro for a coroner's inquest, has been set as yet. No date . He said skid marks of the speed. car measured only six feet. Nath said he didn't see Stabenow because Stabenow was con , also said his vision was impaired by a southbound car with bright lights. Henry D. Stabenow was born in McConnell March 25, 1876. He married Catherine Klontz. She died in 1930 and Mr. Stabenow later married her sister. Zoa Klontz. He farmed in the McConnell area until he retired in 1945 and moved to Orangeville. - Surviving are his wife, Zoa, Orangeville; four daughters, Mrs. Charles (Ruth) Klentz of Nora, l UW 3 Orangeville Charles (Ruth) Klentz of Nora, Mrs. Floyd (Gertrude) Davis of Orangeville, Mrs. Lester (Sarah) Cross of McConnell, and Mrs. Lura Van Matre of Freeport; five sons, Clarence of Winslow, Leroy of McConnell, Delbert of Orangeville, Glen of Martelle, Iowa, and Laverne, Warrensburg, Mo. Also surviving are seven stepchildren: Mrs. Man'in (Hazel) Snippy v ,--of Orangeville, Mrs. Curt (Oresta) Alf( Cole, of Orangeville, Mrs. Lloyd (Orelda) Zunker of Cedarville and (Orelda) Zunker of Cedarville and Mrs. Milton (Celia) Runkle and Leonard Stabenow of Forreston, Mrs. Robert (Verda) Sutton of Virginia, Mrs. Donald (Iris) Milligan McConnell. Other survivors include three brothers, James, New York, N. Y.; Albert, Freeport; Edward, McConnell; 18 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Three brothers and seven sisters preceded Mr. Stabenow in death. Friends may call at Burington- Cramer Funeral Home after 7:30 tonight. Funeral arrangements are being completed. ------------------------------------------------------- 1961 Freeport Illinois - LaVerne Stabenow, who lived most of his youth in the McConnell area, died suddenly this morning of a heart attack in his home at Warrensburg, Mo. He was born May 15, 1918, in McConnell,, the son of Henry and Catherine (Klontz) Stabenow. He moved to Missouri over 20 years ago and was employed by the Peoples National Bank at Warrensburg. Survivors include his wife, Faye; two children, Cheryl, and Phillip, both at home; four brothers, Leroy, Freeport, Clarence of Winslow, Delbert of Orangeville, and Glenn of Martelle, Iowa; four sisters, Mrs. Lura Van Matre of Freeport, Mrs. Gertrude Davis of Orangeville, and Mrs. Ruth Klentz and Mrs. Lester Cross, both of McConnell. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral arrangements are pending' --------------------------------------------- January 25, 1954 Mrs. Henry De Frane, 67, ft lifelong resident of Freeport, died in a local hospital at noon today after a month's Illness. The former Pauline Wienand was born In Freeport Feb. 8, 1886, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wienand and was educated in local schools. She was married to Henry De Frane, who died in 1941. Three daughters and six sons survive, Mrs. Amanda Norde, Cleveland, Ohio; Mrs. Irene Ruin, Mrs. Cletus Kirchberg, Edward, Ralph, Carl and Lloyd De Frane, all of Freeport; Harry, of Davenport, Iowa; Clarence, of Holcomb. There are 12 grandchildren and four great- grandchildren. A sister and four brothers also survive, Mrs. August Hoeischer, August and William Wienand, all of Freeport: Fred Wlenand, Chicago; Arthur Wienand, Pontiac, Mich. Her parents, a daughter and two brothers died previously. Funeral service will be held in the Walker Mortuary at 3 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. C. H. Uthlaut, pastor of St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church, will officiate. Interment will be made in City Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary after 2 p.m. Tuesday |
