Jennie L. Colton, Lyman G. Colton, Brownsville

In 1880 Rutland County, Vermont, Lyman, a carpenter joiner,  is 30, Susen 25,  with two laborers - Will Wilson 20, and Herbert Chamblin 22.

One tree says Susan was born March 1855 in Sherburne, Rutland County, and married Lyman (son of Gideon Colton and Mary Dean) on Nov 6, 1872 in Sherburne.  

BLANCHE

Blanche was born September 1882, married Harry Howard Quaintance (born Feb 2, 1873 in Illinois) April 14, 1906, and had Richard C. Quaintance about 1911 in Illinois.

Harry Howard Quaintaince registered in Jackson County, Colorado - a rancher, with wife Blanche.  In 1920 Jackson County they have Richard C. 5.   They were in Illinois in 1910, so they must have moved between 1915 and 1920.

Harry and Blanche are in Jackson County in 1930 and 1940.

Harry H. -Feb 2, 1873-Aug 27, 1951 and Blanche C. Sep 15, 1881 - Mar 18, 1970 Quaintance are buried in Golden Colorado.

Lyman cash-claimed a quarter in 10, 2S 47W in 1891, and Jennie one next to it in 1896.

In 1896 Denver Lyman G. Colton is a carpenter, living on Manning near Decker Streets.

In 1900 Denver Lyman Colton September 1850 Vermont is a carpenter married 28 years to Susan M. Mar 1855 Vermont.  Blanche Sep 1882 and Beulah June 1887 were born in Vermont, Arthur L Dec 1890 in Colorado.

In 1901 Denver Lyman is a well driller, living at 3727 Perry.

In 1906 Lyman is still a well driller, living at 3968 Perry - Blanche Colton is a stenographer at Colorado Viavi Co, living at 3868 Perry.

In 1910 Denver Susan is 52, Blanche Quintance 28, Beulah Chandler 23, Arthur L. Colton 19, Herbert . Chandler 1, and Nathan H. Chandler 25.

Lyman G. Colton Sep 5, 1849 - March 11, 1906, and Infant Jan 4, 1899 are in Fairmount Cemetery, Denver, with "Susan M. 1855-1936" on the bottom of the stone.

Nathan Howard Chandler -1884-1913 is buried in Crown Hill, Wheat Ridge 47915668

BEULAH

Beulah was born June 1887 in Vermont, married Nathan H. Chandler (born about 1885 in Illinois) about 1906, and they had Herbert C. Chandler about March 1909 in Colorado. 

Beulah Chandler married Albert J. Hardy January 1, 1916.  In 1920 Denver Beulah 33, born in  Vermont and Albert J. 50, Maine Hardy have Homer C. 18, Herbert C 10, both born Colorado, and Herbert Chandler, 34, born in Maine ?

Beulah Hardy - June 19, 1886- January 12, 1930 is buried in Crown Hill, Wheat Ridge. 47915667

Albert J. Hardy is widowed in 1930 Denver, 61, lodging with Homer C. 28 and Dorothy B. 25 Hardy.

Albert  1869-1957 is buried in Crown Hill, Wheat Ridge  47100102

ALBERT

Arthur Lyman Colton was born Dec 9 1890 in Colorado, married June 30, 1913   Pay Echo Redman (this must be FAY), and had Lyman Harold Feb 13, 1915 in Denver, and Myron L. April 15, 1918. Then Arthur May 10, 1920 married Carrie M Lampson born about 1893.

Fay E. Colton - 1892-1919 is buried in Crown Hill, Wheat Ridge. 46308422

In 1920 Denver Susan is living with son Arthur L., city policeman, widowed, and sons Lyman and Myron.

In 1930 Denver Susan is 75, living with Arthur L. 33, a city detective, and Carrie M. 36, Missouri. Lyman H. 15 and Myron L. 11, both born in Colorado.  Nephew Herbert C. Chandler, 21, a telephone cable splicer, is also with them.

In 1880 Rutland Jennie Colton is 37, single, a teacher, father born Massachusetts, mother Vermont, boarding with the E.G. Miller farm family.

There's a Jennie - wife of Robt O. E. Colton buried in Rutland County Vermont died May 15, 1890 27 years old.

Jennie Colton Phillips, daughter of Eben P. and Almina Colton, died 1920 in Barton Vermont.

Jennie Colton's will was probated in Denver in 1893.

In 1900 Jefferson County, Colorado-  Jennie Colton July 1879 Kentucky, married four years, has had one child. Homer Colton, July 1899 Kentucky is with her.  They're with   Amos Morris May 2872 Kentucky and his wife Linsy Jan 1871 Kentucky and their family.

Fort Collins November 15, 1905  "Mrs. Frank Nightingale died on Friday at the family home on Cherry street, aged 24 years and a few months.   Death resulted from blood poisoning.  She leaves a husband and three children.  Her maiden name was Jennie Colton and her former home is Loveland. Funeral at 2 p.m. today at the West Side Mission."

In  1916 the Charles B. Marvin Investment Company sued Jennie L. Colton over her quarter of land.

With no census record in Colorado, no newspaper listing, maybe the name on the land claim is wrong -
