Josie Prather, Abarr
Mrs Elmer S. Prather died at the family home in Yuma at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 19, aged 53 years, 1 month, and 13 days. Funeral services were held Sunday from the local Presbyterian church Rev. Thomas Hayes, pastor of the Nazarene church, officiating and the interment was at the Yuma cemetery. Nannie [Mamie] A. Prather was born at Monton, Iowa March 6, 1877. At the age of 5 years she moved with her parents to Jefferson county, Iowa, where she resided for eight years. In the year 1912 she moved from there to Colorado Springs, in which city she was united in marriage to Elmer S. Prather. After living in that city for a short time, Mr. and Mrs. Prather moved to Western Nebraska where they remained until 1919, when they moved to Yuma and had resided there since that time, until death called the wife. She leaves to mourn her loss her loving husband, her mother, one brother, F. D. Carlson of Stratton, Nebraska, and many other relatives and a host of friends. Had at least one son, Elmer Sydney Prather II., born: 29 Dec., 1931 3rd. wife: Stella (Jenson) Delinger (married 12 May, 1949 Wray, CO.) Stella's husband Deleno died March 5, 1949. |
