Andrew H.  and Martha (Dailey) Hamm,  Joes
 

In 1860 Martha is 3, in Atchison County, Missouri, with parents William 30 and Loranz 27 Dailey.  Brother Francis M. is 6, Malissa E. 4, Mary J. newborn.

In 1860 Sauk County, Wisconsin, John 54 and Polly 40 Ham have David 18, Fanny 14, Mary Ann 12, Levi 10, and Andrew 6.

In 1870 Richardson County, Nebraska, Andrew is 17, with parents John and Polly, both 57. On the next page is Martha Dailey, 14, with parents William 42 and Lorena 37 Dailey. (also on that page is the Henry and Lura Bacon family, with Ira 21, James H. 11, Lawrence 9, Ruby 6, and Lura A. 3). 

 

In 1880 Chickasaw County, Iowa, Andrew 25 and Martha 21 have no children.

In 1885 Gage County, Nebraska, Andrew Ham is 30, Martha 27, and they have Fred 4 and Jessie 2.

In 1900 Pottawattamie County, Iowa, Andrew Hamm, born March 1855 in Wisconsin, and Martha, October 1856 in Missouri, have six sons -  Fred, September 1880, Jessie E. April 1883, and William H. Sep 1885 - these four born in Iowa - Minor H. Aug 1888 and Leo E. March 1890 , both in Nebraska, and Roy Feb 1895 in Iowa.

May 1909 Fox items in the Wray newspaper  -"Mr. Hamm's corn is up."

In 1910 Kirk precinct Andrew H. Ham, 53, born in Wisconsin, and Martha P. 52, born in Missouri, have been married 36 years, and she's had nine children, six living.  Roy, 15, born in Iowa, is with them.

Andrew proved up a quarter in 5, 5S 46W in 1911, and was delinquent on taxes in 1912.

In 1913 Denver Andrew H Hamm is living at 632 20th Street, with no occupation listed.

In 1920 Otoe County, Nebraska Andrew, 66 is a truck farmer.  Martha 65 has "Un" by marital status.. Jesse E 36 and Leo E. 29, both barbers,  are with them.

In 1930 Martha, 73, widowed,  is living with Fred P. 47, also a barber, his wife Carrie B. 44, and their daughter Mable 19 in Johnson County, Nebraska.

FindAGrave has Martha P. Hamm dying April 1934, buried in Wyuka Cemetery, Nebraska City. 115023580

ROY

Roy Franklin Hamm registered with a Tecumseh,  Nebraska address, saying he was born Feb 9, 1895 in New Hampton, Iowa, and single, working for R.A. Stewart, farming.  Roy died May 11, 1959, and is buried in Wheatland, Wyoming, per 94029412.  Mrs.  Margaret M. Hamm of Wheatland applied for the headstone, and she's buried in Wheatland, too.

LEO E.

Nebraska City, Neb. Feb. 17 - Leo E. Hamm (1890-1923) died here Thursday evening after a long illness, starting with the flu and developing into pneumonia. Mr. Hamm was thirty-three years of age, leaves a wife and one child. He served overseas in the world war, in the 89th division, having been with the soldier boys from North Platte, as he was a barber in that city, when the war came on. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at the Latter Day Saints church, of which he was a member. The American Legion will take part in the services.
