Charles G. and Jennie  (Nealley) Walin

 Jennie Josephine Nealley was born, per one tree, June 5, 1867 in Henderson County, Illinois and married Adel E. Walin (born 1877 in Minnesota - per the 1880 Carver County census, which has Charles J., born 1869).

In 1885 Saunders County Nebraska A.L. Nealy 55, and Abba 54 have Charles 19, Flora 21, and Jennie 17. (Augustus Loud Nealley born October 24, 1829 in Bangor, Maine, Abigail Morrill born Oct 5, 1830 in Newburg, Maine.   They're both in Rock Creek Cemetery, Saunders County, Nebraska.

In 1900 Lansing Charles Walin Nov 1869 Sweden, is married to three years to Jennie, June 1867 Illinois.  She's three children  Effie Oct 1889, Tracy Nov 1891, and Roy Dec 1894, all Colorado.  They're step-children.

Jennie proved up on an irregular parcel in 9, 5S 42W in 1903, and Charles a quarter in 17 and 20 - two miles away, also in 1903.

1908 "a Mr. Walin, of Cresco, Nebr., arrived her last Saturday night to visit with Chas. Wallin, of Lansing precinct." (in 1899 a C.L. Walin of Cresco was listed in the American Shorthorn Herd Book)

1908 Carl Walin of Jaqua was a witness for Clara Tegner's claim in 4S 42W

1909 "School began in District No. 87 in in (sic) Hale precinct this week with Miss Effie Walin as teacher."

There's a stone in the Jaqua Kansas cemetery - Tracy Walin Nov 2, 1891 - Sep 5, 1909

and one for Sanford Walin - Nov 18, 1864 - Nov 2, 1896.  One listing says James Sanford Walin - Nov 18, 1864 - Nov 7, 1898 -  husband of Jennie J. Nealley.

Effie Walin was in the first class graduating from Cheyenne County High School in St. Francis, in 1907.

In 1910 Flathead County, Montana are Charles and Jennie, with Effie, Roy, Charles 8, Elsie 4, and Tressa 2.

In 1922 Miss Effie Walin returned for a visit to the Union College in Walla Walla, Washington - she is a teacher at Mt. Ellis Academy.

In 1930 Charles G. and Jennie, both 62, are in Salem, Oregon with son Paul W. 18, born in Montana. Charles is a mechanic for Paulus Bros.  Charles A. (Frances L.) is a foreman at Paulus Bros.

1922 Lillie M. Wallin was an eighth grade graduate from District 38.

Funeral services for Charles G. Walin, 90, will be conducted Saturday, Jan. 24, at 2 p.m. at the Ringo-Cornwell Funeral Chapel in Woodburn by Rev. N. C. Erntson. Vault interment will be in Belle Passi cemetery beside his wife Jennie who died in 1944 and a son Paul.

Mr. Walin was born November 5, 1868 in Sweden and came to America in 1889. He homesteaded in Colorado and became a cattle rancher. In 1929 he came to Woodburn and had lived in this vicinity ever since except for a few years in California. He was a member of the Monitor Seventh-day Adventist church. He died Tuesday night  (January 20, 1959)at the home of a daughter Audrey (Mrs. Hugh) Wells in Hubbard.

Besides Mrs. Wells he is survived by two other daughters, Mrs. Effie Erntson of Woodburn route 2 and Mrs. Tess Manbeck of San Francisco, Cal.; two sons, Roy Walin of South Lancaster, Mass., and Charles Walin of San Francisco; and five grandchildren.
