March 1892 "Mr. Wilson Knapp, of Alexandria, Nen., spent a few
days last week with his brother in law, William Kettley, southeast
of town. He also was a pleasant caller at Fulton Warnock's.
Mr. Knapp was well pleased with Phillips county and will move here
next spring."

May 1900 "C. J. Sister, James Bryant, John Higenbotham, J. S. Bennett, O.W. Shuler, Ira Kepler and W.C. Knapp left Holyoke Tuesday evening for Denver by way of Holdrege, Neb.,
to attend the republican state and congressional conventions to be held on the 10 and 11."
June 25, 1909 "Albert H. Knapp, father of Wilson Knapp, died
at the son's home. He was born June 29, 1829,
being seventy-nine years, eleven months and 10 days old.
A good old age. Three years ago his wife died at the same place and
now their mortal remains lie side by side in the little
cemetery at Hoffman school house. (This might be the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, in the same area as Wilson's homestead in township 7N 42W.)
The old brother told me three
years ago that for many long years he had trusted the grace of God
in Jesus Christ for his salvation and had no doubt in the word
and promise of God. I think his soul is in glory.
It is easy to preach a funeral over the body of one of God's
believing Christians. 1 wish that all his living children
and grand-children might know and trust the same Jesus Christ.
Oh that people would trust Jesus Christ to save them out of sin.
J. T. Jenkins."
"Married. At the court house in Denver, Dec. 3, 1908,
C. J. Garvin officiating, Wilson C. Knapp of this county to
Mrs. Mollie Long, of Denver. Mr. Knapp is well and favorably
known in this county, being one of the old settlers and has a host
of friends who wish for him and his amiable bride a long, happy
and prosperous married life. Mrs. Knapp is not known to many here,
but is highly spoken of by those who have met her. They are making
their home on Mr. Knapp's
farm east of Holyoke. The Herald extends best wishes."
Wilson and Mollie divorced in Phillips County in 1910.
"At the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harrison Norris in
Holyoke on Thursday Mar 27, 1913, Rev. W. D. Waller officiating,
Wilson C. Knapp of Holyoke and Mrs. Emma Dassler of Omaha, Neb. were
united in marriage. Only relatives and intimate friends were present
at the wedding. The bride is a stranger to most of our people but is
highly spoken of by those who know her. Wilson Knapp is one of
the early settlers of our county and has a large acquaintance in
the county and has as many friends as he has acquaintances,
for he is well thought of by all who know him.
They will make their home on their farm in
the eastern part of the county. The Herald offers best wishes."

Perhaps the most intense of the complaints against marital infelicity, was the petition filed by Dr. P.H. Dassler, of Minden, against his wife Emma Dassler, which is the culmination of a vigorous monkey and parrot time that the unhappy couple have been having for the past few years. Their dream of bliss began in St. Louis, November 11, 1883, and continued intermittantly until the present year.
The injured husband describes his wife as of a quick, nervous, quarrelsome, jealous, high tempered and stubborn disposition. This she was accustomed to manifest by operating on his head and shoulders with plates, fists, iron pokers, butcher knives, revolvers and other implements not intended for the manifesting of marital affections. One time the wifely nemesis, the doctor says, she came to his bedside at night and towering aloft exclaimed, "I have a notion to kill you," but she didn't.
Last July the Minden sawbones went to Kansas City, where his wife had fled to her parents, for the purpose of effecting a settlement. She asked him to come upstairs to her room and no sooner had they entered than she pounced upon him and beat the poor fellow with her dainty fists. She then called her father and, although the plaintiff tried to effect a peaceable settlement, the father also became enraged and assaulted his son-in-law. To avoid having his heart cut out and to free himself from further danger of assault, Dr. Dassler wants to shake off his marital coil.

amended petition by his first wife, Martha Carmony,
Twenty-eighth and Jackson Streets She asked the court to
grant her a decree of separate maintenance. The petition was filed
by her lawyers, Joseph Rapp, Jr., and T. H, Murdock.
In 1922 she was granted a divorce from Carmony by District
Judge ?loss on her cross petition. Before the statutory six
months had elapsed to make the decree operative,
Carmony was married in Council Bluffs to Aestel Kettley, a
nurse at Lord ??ster hospital. District Judge Day then
set aside the divorce, leaving Carmony with both wives.
Later the divorce decree was reinstated to give the
baby by the second marriage a legitimate father.
On protest of Mrs. Carmony, the first, according to her
attorney, the divorce again was set aside, and again Carmony
had two wives. He then appealed to the supreme court,
and the latest ruling was uphehd. In the petition filed
Friday, Mrs. Martha Carmony alleged that her husband
is living with his second wife. If her petition ts granted,
Carmony will have two wives."
