Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Matilda Robbins, 95,
who died April 16, 1942 in McMinnville, Oregon,
were held at the McMinnville Funeral home April 20 with the Rev. S.J. Osborne officiating. Interment was held at the Amity cemetery.
Mrs. Robbins, who resided at 108 Western avenue, had lived here for 48 years. She was a native of Warren county, Ohio.
She is survived by her husband, William G. Robbins; two sons, Charles E. of Amity and William E. of Garibaldi, and a daughter, Mrs. E.J. Pratt of McMinnville..

Lillian Houk Flickinger

Lillian Flickinger, 66, died in her Monmouth home.
She was born in Holyoke, Colorado, to James and Esther (DeArmond) Houk.
She lived in Monmouth since 1930. She graduated from Monmouth High School in 1944, and Good Samaritan School of Nursing in Portland in 1950. She was a registered nurse until she retired in 1956.
She married Alfred Flickinger December 29, 1956, in Reno, Nevada. He died in 1980. She was a member of the Suver Community Hobby Club.
She is survived by a nephew, Gary Houk, of Tualatin.
Keith LaDoyle Houk was born February 18, 1927, in Holyoke, Colorado to James William and Esther Belle (DeArmond) Houk, fourth in a family of five, and the second son. He was about 3 years old when the family moved to Oregon. He attended school in Monmouth, Oregon.
He enlisted in the United States Navy on 13 Mar 1944. He served aboard the USS Bullwheel, earning the Asiatic Pacific Area Campaign Medal, the Philippine Liberation Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. He was honorably dischargd on 16 May 1946.
Keith married Edna Mae Cooper on 5 Nov 1949, in Monmouth, Oregon. They had 2 sons. Keith was working at a bank at the time of their marriage, which would become his life-long career. Since Edna Mae suffered from Asthma, her doctors recommended a drier climate than what existed in the Willamette Valley. This prompted their eventual move to Klamath Falls, where Keith spent the rest of his life.
He was active in youth baseball, serving as treasurer for the National Babe Ruth World Series held in 1968.
Keith passed away suddenly on 11 May 1971 from a heart attack while on a business trip to Sacramento, California.
He is buried in Klamath Falls, Oregon

"Mrs. Cora Emma Beacon, 71, for the past 43 years a resident
of Whiteson, Yamhill County, Oregon, died at her home May 29, 1941 after an illness of two months. She was a native of Illinois, and married Elmer Beacon in 1877 in Nebraska.
She is survived by her husband, two sons, James of McMinnville, and LaVerne of Ripon, Calif., three daughters, Goldie Kidd, Bly, Ore., Iva Massey, Whiteson; Edna Newell, Seattle, and Hazel Schiller of Gresham are also surviving. Three brothers, Miles Houck, of Independence; J.W. Houck of Monmouth and Doyle Houck of California are also living. Also surviving her are three sisters, Pearl Fuller, Grand Island, Nebr., Sylvia Jenkoway, Wichita, Kansas, and Mable Ranum, Alvin, Colo, are also living."
