In 1900 Edmund, Oklahoma, Fredrick Els is 37, Henrietty Els 36 Wife. William Els 12 Son, Hago Els 10 Son, Freddy Els 7 Son, Sophia Els 7 Daughter, Minnie Els 5 Daughter, and Elvina Els 3 Daughter.

January 1934 " Mrs. Rose Lang of Omaha, Neb., who has been visiting with her sister, Mrs. Bill Banaka, left Thursday for her home. Henry Els accompanied her there."

April 1934 "Miss Louise Els returned to her home at Topeka, Kan., on Sunday of last week after spending some months here visiting relatives and friends."

March 1935 "Henry Els is moving to the Nichols farm."

1951 Wray "Henry Els brought his fine collection of arrow heads in to the SCS office where they are on display for awhile. "

July 1951 "Mrs. Ed Enyart of Washington, a sister of Henry Els, spent last week here visiting friends and relatives. She states that she saw pictures and read articles of our 1950 field day out there, so I guess our district must have a place in this world."

July 1958 "The Bruce Wilsons were hosts at an Els family dinner on Wednesday at which those attending were the father, Carl Els of Max, Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Els and baby of Plentywood, Mont., Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Els and girls of Tatum, N. M., Ivan Els of Pasadena, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Byron Els and three children of Max, and Henry Els, an uncle. "
Henry John Martin Els was born May 3, 1908, at Netawaka, Kansas, to Fredrich W . and Henretta Heers Els. He passed away on Thursday, June 13, at St. Luke's Hospital in Denver as the result of complications from heart surgery, at the age of 77 years, 1 month and 5 days.
He was confirmed on October 21, 1927, as a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Immanuel Church in Netawaka and attended Netawaka High School.
He was involved in farm and ranch work in the Alvin community north of Wray, Colorado, for several years and worked on several farms in the Wray and Holyoke communities.
Henry never married and supported his mother, who lived with him until her death in 1941.
He moved to Benkelman in 1976 and even though retired, continued to help nephew Bryon Els with the farm chores and at harvest time.
When not helping on the farm, he avidly pursued his two favorite hobbies, fishing and arrowhead collecting. His arrowhead collecting took him to parts of Nebraska, Kansas and Colorado where he made the acquaintance and friendship of many people.
He tremendously enjoyed the outdoors which accounted for his love of farming, fishing and collecting and was outdoors whenever the opportunity arose.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Fred Els, Hugo and William Banaka, and sisters, Alvina Scheid, Carolina Enyeart, Freda Montgomery, Sophia Krautschun and Minnie Schoonover.
He is survived by brother, Carl Els of Benkelman, and sister, Louise Morelli of St. Louis, Missouri, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Services were held Monday, June 17, at the Jones Funeral Chapel of Benkelman. Pastor Vernon Whetstone officiated.
Peggy Roesener accompanied Julia Janicke with selections "Beautiful Isle Of Somewhere" and "How Great Thou Art."
Bearers were Eldon Roesener, Randy Weiss, Don Poe, David Wilson, Walt Bradford and Rex Shaw.
Honorary bearers were Kenneth Weiss, Edgar Groseclose, Al Anderson, Norman Schutz, Lester Shaw, Harold Banaka, Lester Criger and Everett Walgren.
Interment was in the Benkelman Cemetery with arrangements by Jones Funeral Home of Benkelman.

"Mrs. Henrietta Els, aged seventy-six, died Monday night, January 24 at the home of her son Henry Els in the Cement neighborhood. Mrs. Els had been a resident of this state for a number of years and had made her home with her son. Short funeral services will be held at Holyoke with another service and interment at her old home in Missouri. Mrs. Els is survived by three children, Henry, Carl of Wray, and Mrs. Sophia Krautchen of north of Wray."

February 1944 "H. H. Banaka received a message Monday night that his mother, Mrs. Els of near Alvin had passed away. The remains were taken to Kansas for burial. We extend our sincre sympathy to Mr. and Mrs. Banaka. "

December 21, 1961 "Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Lockwood Mortuary for H. H. (Pete) Banaka, a resident of north of Wray since 1919, who died at his farm home Tuesday of last week. The Rev. Willis C. Wirehart officiated at the funeral service that was followed by burial in Grandview cemetery.
Hugo Henry Banaka was born on August 3, 1889, at Netawaka. Kansas. In 1918 he came to Wray and bought a farm north of Wray. On December 28, 1918, he was married to Minnie Dachenhausen at Topeka, Kan., and the couple came here the following year to establish their home. Mr. Banaka continued his residence on the place until his death. Mrs. Banaka died in 1951.
The couple were the parents of two children, a boy who died in infancy, and a daughter. Mrs. Lorene Mattox of Denver. Besides his daughter, survivors include one granddaughter, Diane; a brother, William Banaka of Wray; a sister, Mrs. Sophia Krautschen of Denver; two half-sisters, Mrs. Caroline Enyeart of Toppenish, Wash., and Mrs. Louise Morelli of St. Louis, Mo., and three half-brothers, Carl Els of Max, Neb., Henry Els of Wray, and Fred Els of Topeka. Kan. "
