"Zadok Leach (son of David Leach and Catherine Nail) was born October 15, 1826, and died January 18, 1867.He married America Menafee on January 07, 1847, daughter of Larkin Menefee and Charity Arness.

THEY LIVED IN ILLINOIS NEAR GERAROD, AND ALL THEIR FAMILY WAS BORN THERE. THE MOTHER AMERICA DIED IN NOVEMBER 1866, AND HER 12-YEAR-OLD EMMA A MONTH LATER. THE BABY ZADOK JR. A FEW WEEKS LATER AND THEN THE FATHER Zadok DIED ON JAN, 18, 1867.THE OLDEST SON FRANK,19AND DAUGHTER NAN 17, TOOK CARE OF THE FOUR YOUNGER CHILDREN. WHEN NAN MARRIED CLEN DEN, VERLINDA KNOWN AS LINNIE, MOVED WITH HER SISTER'S FAMILY TO NEBRASKA IN 1871, BABY WALTER BECAME A FARMER IN EDGAR, NEBRASKA.LINNIE RETURNED TO ILLINOIS. Linnie told of smelling the smoke from the " Chicago " fire, while on the trip to Nebraska

In 1900 Clay County, Nebraska, Walter born Jan 1864, married 4 years to Rosa Sept 1866 Iowa, wtih George Jan 18888, Lora M. Nov 1889, Anna L. Dec 1891, and Edna March 1899, all four born in Nebraska.
1909 "Wm. Leach of Edgar, Neb., was another Nebraska man looking over our farms Wednesday."
In 1910 Edgar, Walter M. is 46, Rosetta D. 43, with George 22, Anna 18, and Velma 11.
1911 "Walter M. Leach, of Edgar, Nebr., was a Yuma visitor yesterday. He is on his way to Steamboat Springs for an outing."

In 1920 Walter Leach had three quarters in 4N 47W, with a residence a half-milese south of the Pleasan Valley Church.
1925 Nebraska - Walter M. Leach, Edgar: "So far as 'my observations go the people generally favor the gas tax. Most people object to exemptions. They fear that exemptions will mafee complications that will call for an army of state employes to eat up the collections."
