Oliver proved up a quarter in section 11, 4N 47W in 1896, and timbr-claimed one in seciton 11 in 1900.
This land was two miles west of the Pleasant Valley church.
April 1899 "O. H. Johnson, Fred Korf,
Wenzel Blach and Henry Schmale attended district
court at Yuma last week."
(All were residents of the Pleasant Valley area.)
In July 1899 O. H. was paid $10.65 in juror fees for April term, so he must have been called.
In 1900 Yuma County, Magee precinct, Oliver is farming, born December 1840 in Iowa,
married 33 years to Ruth Nov 1856 Pennsylvania. Calvin was born April 1893 in Colorado.
Ruth has has ten kids, seven living.

DIED IN MANILLA
Wallace E. Johnson, son of Oliver H. Johnson. Born at Eddyville, Iowa,
December 21, 1870. Died at Manilla, P. I., March 1, 1901.
Wallace enlisted and fought in Cuba, then he was mustered out. He
reenlisted and fought in Manilla for two years. He lay in the hospital since
November until his death. The remains were interred in the Yuma cemetery
Sunday, Rev. Rarick having charge.

May 13, 1986 Grand Junction, Colorado "Services for Edgar Earl Sigafus of Montrose will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Montrose Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with Bishop Dwight Rawlings officiating. Burial will follow in Valley Lawn Cemetery. Mr. Sigafus died Monday at Montrose Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He was 82. Mr. Sigafus, a lifelong resident of Montrose, was an earth-moving contractor who retired at the age of 75. He was born Jan. 7, 1904, in Montrose to Earl Wilber and Ina Myrtle Johnson Sigafus, and attended school at Uneompahgre in Montrose County. He married Sarah Rebecca Bar-tling Dec 6, 1930, in Montrose. Mrs. Sigafus died in 1978. Mr. Sigafus was noted for his work in developing a self-propelled thrashing machine, and was well-known for his mechanical ability and work quality. His interests were hunting, fishing, jeeping and being outdoors. Survivors include two daughters, Caroline Marie Roller of Denver and Marilyn Ruth King of Montrose; a son, Edgar W. of Montrose; a brother, Bud L. of Ridgway; 10 grandchildren; and four great-granddaughters. His twin children, Michael John and Elise Mae, are deceased.
Arrangements were made by Montrose Valley Funeral Home."
