George Geisler , Pleasant Valley

George cash-claimed a quarter in 8, 4N 47W in 1891.  Fred Korf owned that land in 1922.

Georg Geisler, laborer, 18, arrived in New York October 25, 1890 on the Lahn from Bremen and Southampton.

1889 Aspen "Geo. Geisler came over from Independence Wednesday.  He is working some valuable properties adjoining the Farwell group at that camp.  He thinks Independence will have its day yet."

June 1898 Durango

In August 1898 La Plata County, Colorado "Mr. and Mrs. George Geisler, of Pine River, were in Durango Tuesday."

1900 LaPlata County, George Geisler born April 1873 in Germany, married to Luella May 1877 COlorado.  hey have Annie April 1899 COlorado.

May 1903 Aspen

1906 George Geisler was a juror in La Plata County.

George Geisler married Mary C. Woolsey December 5, 1908, recorded in La Plata County.

George and Mary C. Geisler divorced in Montezuma County in 1910.

Oscar Parks married Elizabeth "Geister" February 22, 1909, recorded in La Plata County.

In 1910 La Plata County, "Hannah" Geisler 12, is with mother Lizzie Parks, 32, divorced.  Maggie Geisler, 9, is with them.

1915 Mancos (Montezuma County)  "George Geisler this week started work on a new hay barn 24 x 72 feet on his ranch just north of town."

Margaret Geisler married Alva R. Palmer April 2, 1922, recorded in La Plata County (Alva had married in 1916 and divorced in 1921)

Anna Geisler married Robert Wood September 19, 1929, recorded in Montezuma County.

Henry Geisler married Nellie Coppinger March 8, 1932, recorded in Montezuma County.

In 1920 George is divorced, farming in Montezuma County with son  Henry, 15.  He's still divorced in 1930 and 1940.

In 1940 Durango, Elizabeth Locke is 62  widowed, and daughter Enna Peer widowed with son Richard Peer, 4 are with her.  So is widowed Margaret Palmer.

Elizabeth Wommer Locke 1876-1945 is buried in Bayfield # 62132587.

Anna G. Peer born April 2, 1899 in Colorado, died Nov 28, 1988 in Contra Costa County, California, mother Locke, father Gysler.

Sherry Lynn Geisler, 56, died peacefully in her sleep on December 7, 2012 at her residence in Eagar, AZ. She was born in Durango, Colorado on August 18, 1956, the daughter of George W. and Evelyn MacLean Geisler. Sherry was the Justice of the Peace and Magistrate for the Round Valley Justice Court. She never knew a stranger and was never too busy for a hug or conversation. She was a pillar for her family and for the community. She loved to travel, and enjoyed gardening and family gatherings. Sherry was loved by all that knew her. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Rachel and Aaron Vandemark; mother Evelyn Geisler; brothers George (Donna) Geisler, Greg (Sheri) Geisler, and Ralph (Stephanie) Geisler; six nieces and three nephews. Sherry is preceded in death by her father George "Pete" Geisler. Visitation will be held Friday, December 14, 2012, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Burnham Mortuary, Eagar. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Round Valley High School Auditorium, Eagar -

Cecilia Julia Sponsel died Wednesday night, Jan. 31, 2001, at her home in Durango. She was the ninth, and last surviving, of the 13 children born to Thompson Park homesteaders John and Anna Margaret Geisler Sponsel.
Sponsel was born in Durango July 24, 1902, and her first years were spent on the family farm as part of a hard-working family. Her parents had come from Bavaria, Germany, to Durango, where they were married at St. Columba
Catholic Church in 1887.

Elizabeth Geisler married Andrew Sporer in La Plata County April 14, 1893.

Annie Geisler married Louis Lessner Jan 29, 1896 in La Plata County. 

Mararetha Geisler married John Olbert April 19, 1897 in LaPlata County.

George Geisler 1871 -1958 is buried in Greenmount Cemetery, Durango.  So is his son Henry Geisler - Nov 1904- Sept 1965. and possibly a cousin George Geisler July 24, 1911 - August 23, 1989, and Charline Geisler June 15, 1909 - July 12, 1980.

In Colorado Springs May 1969 "George R Geisler to George R and Charline Geisler lots 19 and 20 blk 23 Assembly Grounds, Natl Chautauqua Assn  - This one is the son of a Joseph Geisler born in Missouri - so not an immediate family.

ANOTHER POSSIBLE

George E. Geisler married Estella Suaveloy December 20, 1888 in Laporte County, Indiana. Estella SNAVELY-was born circa 1864 in La Porte Co., IN. Married George E. Geisler in LaPorte Co., IN 20 Dec 1888 The spelling is incorrect and shown as Estella Suaveloy. George Elliott Geisler b. 14 May 1862 and died about 1945. Two of Estella and George's children were Russell b. 14 Sep 1893 and Mirty (Myrtle) b. August 1890 

Myrtle Hensell (Myrtle Geisler) married Thomas Davis in LaPorte County Sept 24, 1919.

In 1920 LaPorte County, Thomas 42 and Myrtle 30 Davis, both born in Indiana, have her son Russell Hensell , 4, and Charles Inman, 72, father-in-law (maybe Thomas was married before.)

Russell Geisler 26, Martha 20, and brother-in-law Amel Fink 37 is the next household. (Amelj. 7 and Martha M. 11 and with parents Cris C 34 and Julia J. 32 in Saint Joseph County Indiana in 1910.)

Russell Geisler's WWI and WWII registration has him born in Indiana.

In 1900 Noble County, Indiana, George E. Geisler, born May 1862 in Indiana, is widowed, running a restaurant.  Clarence Snavley, 28 is boarding with him. 

George Geisler married Sarah J. Francis January 3, 1906 in Laporte County, Indiana.

In 1930 La Porte County, Indiana, George is 68, living with son Russell, 36 born in Indiana (that would be 1894) and his family.

George Elliott Geisler, per # 126792300, is buried with no stone in Union Mills, La Porte County 1862-1945.
