Fred cash-claimed a quarter in 9, 4N 47W in 1890.

Henry cash-claimed a quarter in 17, 4N 48W - about five miles west - in 1891

POSSIBLE - in 1880 Dakota County, Minnesota Wm. 46 - Prussia -and Margaret 44 - Bavaria, have George 23, William 22, Margaret 16, Fred 15, Sarah 13, Herman 11, Henry 9, Jacob 7, Amelia 5, Ilena 4, and Edward one month.  - all the kids were born in Minnesota.

Henry would have been 20, Fred 24 when they claimed the land.

In St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Dakota County, Minnesota is Friedrich Wilhelm Franzmeier, March 7, 1834-February 19,1917. # 39520414

Sheboygan County, Wisconsin 1910  "Haven : A post office on the n. line of of Section 21, Town Mosel, 7 miles n. of Sheboygan, a station on the C. & N. W. R'y. Mail twice a day. Fred Franzmeyer postmaster, supplies R. R. No. 6."  This might be the son.

Fred Franzmeyer was the spokesman for a group of sixty Haven farmers receiving approval for a state bank in that area.

HENRY

This is another possible  - could be an uncle of the young Henry:

Henry Franzmeier, 83, died Saturday night at his home in the village of Cleveland, Minnesota after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m., from the funeral home and at two o'clock from the Reformed church, Centerville, the Rev. Edward Nuss officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Franzmeier was born in Germany in 1856 and when a child his parents moved to America, locating at Newton. He took up farming and carpentry work when a young man and in 1887 married Miss Louise Siggelkow. They located on a farm at Newton which they operated until 1923 when they moved to Cleveland. Two years ago they observed their golden wedding. Mrs. Franzmeier died last July. Mr. Franzmeier was a member of the district school board at Newton for 10 years, and served several terms as trustee of the Reformed church. Survivors are a son, Edward, Cleveland; two brothers, Carl, Newton, Herman, Mosel; two step-brothers, Adolph and Ernest Grotegut, both of Newton. LOUISA FRANZMEIER Mrs. Henry Franzmeier, 77, of Cleveland, this county, died late Thursday at the Memoerial hospital, Sheboygan. She had been ill for some time. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m., from the Reformed church, Centerville, the Rev. Edward Nuss officiating. Interment will be in the St. Johns' cemetery, Hika. Mrs. Franzmeier was born Louisa Siggelkow, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ludwig Siggelkow in Mosel, Sheboygan county, in 1860. In 1887 she was married to Henry Franzmeier and they located on a farm in Newton. In addition to operating the farm Mr. Franzmeier also followed carpentry. In 1915 the couple disposed of their holdings in Newton and moved to the village of Cleveland. The couple observed their golden wedding anniversary in December, 1937. Until a fall five years ago forced her into a wheel chair, Mrs. Franzmeier was active in the Ladies Aid society of the Reformed church. Survivors are the widower; son, Edward, Cleveland; three brothers, Robert, Ernst and Louis, all of Centerville; sister, Mrs. August Witte, Centerville; and a grandchild. A daughter, Mrs. Ella Koehrig died some years ago. The body may be viewed at the home in Cleveland after 1 p.m. Saturday and in the church after 11 a.m. Monday. Henry "Frantzmeier" was a landholder in Thayer County in 1900, 3N 3W  section 14. 

In 1900 Thayer County, Nebraska, Fred Franzmeyer born July 1863 in Germany, immigrating 1885,  is single.  Next household is Henry, February 1861 Germany, immigrating 1884, married seven years to Mary L.- March 1875 Germany, immigrating 1891.   They have Mary L. January 1894 and Willie Nov 1896, both Nebraska.

In 1910 Saline County, Henry 53 married 17 years to Mary (that would be a couple of years after the 1901 claim) 35  with Mary 16, William13, Bertha 10, and Henry 4, all kids born in Nebraska.

In 1920 Saline County, Heinrich A. Franzmeier is 72 (sic), Mary 44, with William K. 23, Bertha M. 19, and Henry 13.

In 1930 Saline County, Henry "Franzmier" is 73, Maria 55, William C. 33,a nd Bertha 29.

Bertha Franzmeier 1900-1971 is buried in Plainview Cemetery, Saline County.

William Karl Franzmeier 1896-1942 is buried in Zion Lutheran cemetery, Saline County

Henry Herman Franzmeier 1906-1977 is buried in Grand Island "Henry Franzmeier, 71, Oxford, died Sunday at the Omaha Methodist Hospital. The former Hastings resident moved to Oxford following his retirement from Kansas-Nebraska Natural Gas Co.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Oxford Baptist Church. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. at the Grand Island Cemetery. The Nelson-Mitchell Funeral Home, Oxford, is in charge.

Survivors include his widow, Kathryn; four daughters, Mrs. James (Shirley) Woodward and Mrs. Janet Riley, both of Omaha; Mrs. Gene (Darlene) Hauff, Hastings, and Mrs. James (JoAnne) Pulley, Oxford."

Kathryn (Traudt) Franzmeier 1906-1981 is also buried in Grand Island.

"Kathryn  Franzmeier, 74, of Oxford died Sunday in Oxford.Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Oxford. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. in Grand Island Cemetery.  Mrs. Franzmeier was born in Eaton, Colo., and resided in Grand Island for 23 years before moving to Hastings in 1950. She had been an Oxford resident for 16 years.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. James (Shirley) Woodward and Janet Riley of Omaha, Mrs. Donald (Darlene) Hauff of Hastings and Mrs. James (JoAnne) Pulley of Oxford; two sisters; three half-brothers; a step-brother, 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
