Ila Mae Bohannon, 95, Jamestown, North Dakota, died Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at her home in Jamestown. Ila Mae Tribbett was born July 27, 1914 in Yuma, Colorado, the daughter of Edgar and Elizabeth (Lensert) Tribbett. She graduated from Yuma High School in Yuma, CO. In 1934 Ila married Oliver Paris. She married Charles Bohannon in 1954. They lived in Oregon until 1997, when they moved to Jamestown. Charles died in 1999. She loved Jamestown and the beautiful seasons, singing in the Gardenette Choir and watching her grandchildren grow. Ila is survived by her son, Kenneth (Ann) Paris, Flower Mound, TX; daughter, Stella Wheeler, Jamestown; daughter-in-law, Leontine Paris, Chester, WV; 10 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren; four sisters, Lucille Ewing, McMinnville, OR, Margie McCall, Yuma, CO, Sylvia (Leonard) Roth, Salem, OR and Shirley (Jan) Fox, McMinnville, OR; two brothers, Charles (Cleo) Tribbett, Yamhill, OR and Gene (Joan (Wiser)) Tribbett, McMinnville, OR; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Harley & Howard; husbands; sister, Eunice Covington; brothers-in-law, Lloyd Ewing; Clarence Covington and Mark McCall; two grandsons, Brad and Stan Paris; two great-granddaughters; Amanda and Tiffany Paris; step-son Walter and son-in-law, Harold Wheeler. Lucille Tribbett Ewing, 95, the beloved matriarch of the Ewing/Dooley family, passed away on January 31, 2014 at the home of her daughter, Pat Dooley, in Woodburn, Oregon. She was born on the family farm in Yuma, Colorado in 1918 to Edgar and Elizabeth (Lensert) Tribbett. She was the third born of ten children in her family. Lucille attended school through the eighth grade. At that time she quit school to help on the family farm after her brother Harley passed away. She loved attending Lutheran school for two years and always passed on her strong faith and wisdom to family and friends alike. In 1935, she married the love of her life, Lloyd Ewing, and together they had three children, Yvonne "Pat" Dooley (Leonard), of Woodburn, Michael Ewing (deceased in 2002) and Larry Ewing (Anne) of McMinnville. Lucille and Lloyd moved to the Onalaska, Washington area in 1936. They returned to Colorado in the late 1930's then settled in Dayton in 1943. Lucille worked as a welder in the shipyards during the war. She also worked as a telephone operator and a store clerk. Lucille went to work for the Oregon State Accident Insurance Fund and retired after 23 years as a supervisor with an accommodation from the Governor. After her retirement, Lucille began painting china and received multiple awards for her artwork. She enjoyed gardening with her husband especially her prized rose garden. Friends and family remember her as a gracious hostess who always opened her home and had an extra place at the table. As one relative said "Gram had a way of making each one of us feel special". Throughout her 95 years on this earth, Lucille left every place she went a little brighter. Lucille is survived by her children, Yvonne "Pat" Dooley, Larry Ewing, sisters Sylvia Roth, Shirley Fox, brothers Charles "Chuck" Tribbett, Eugen Tribbett, eight grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd in 1999 and son Michael in 2002. Lucille was a longtime member of the Lutheran Church attending St. John Lutheran Church and Trinity Lutheran Church, both of McMinnville. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 8 at 11 AM at St. John Lutheran Church with interment at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to St. John Lutheran Church or the charity of your choice in care of Macy & Son.

 Charles Tribbett married Cleo Bell Oct 2, 1948 in Yamhill County.  She would be the daughter of Orest and Celia Bell, both buried in Yamhill, County  #63774633

2012 Kenneth Bell's obituary "He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce, his parents, and his brother Oscar. He is survived by his daughter Lisa Milke, son-in law Gary and grandchildren Katherine, Jillian and Paul as well as by his sister Cleo Tribbett and brother-in -law Chuck; sister Dorothy Powers and brother-in-law Bud; brother Frank Bell and sister-in-law Kathy; sisters-in-law Marge Lanam and Veta Bell; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  "

Yamhill resident Charles Edward Tribbett died Feb. 5, 2014. He was 85. A memorial service is planned at 2 p.m. Feb. 23 at Grace Baptist Church, North Second and East Monroe streets in Carlton.

 

Sylvia Roth, 93, Nyssa, died Saturday, Nov. 16, 2002, in a Nyssa Oregon care center. Services pending, Nyssa's Lienkaemper Chapel.   Probably another one....

Services for Bradley Paul Fox, one year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Jan Fox of McMinnville, who died Feb. 28, 1964, in a Portland hospital, were held March 2 in the chapel of Macy and Son with interment at Evergreen Memorial Park. He was born Dec. 3, 1962.  He is survived by his parents and sister Kimberley Renae; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Hancock, Hebo, and Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Fox, Hillsboro; a great-grandmother, Mrs. Stella Rogers, Cloverdale.

Wm. Carl was delinquent on taxes for 80 acres in 17, 3N 44W in 1923

This might be another claim.  William Carls proved up on two  quarters in 14 and 29, 3N 48W in 1913.

In 1930 Yuma precinct, William Carls is 49, born in Germany, Bertha 35 in Wisconsin.  Doris E. is 13, Herbert 11, Harold W. 9, and Wilbert L 7, all bon in Colorado.

In 1940 (but were in Yuma in 1935) William I. Carls is 60, Bertha 46, with Dorris E. 22, Herbert W. 20, Harold W. 18, Wilbert E. 16, and Eileen R. 8.

September 1969 Pomona "Mrs. Carls Honored At Dinner The 75th birthday of Mrs. Bertha Carls was celebrated at a buffet dinner at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Donald Poganski offered a special prayer for the honoree. The reception also marked the birthdays of Frances and Harold Carls and the return of a grandson. Gary Carls, from Vietnam. All five of Mrs. Carls’ children were present to celebrate the event. They included Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Carls from Mammouth Lakes, Harold Carls of Ontario, Dorris Carls of Pomona, Wilbert Carls of Pomona and Mrs. Eileen Patterson of Montclair. Forty-six guests attended the dinner. Mrs. Carls, who resides at 732 E. 11th St., has lived in Pomona since 1936. The family was formerly from Yuma, Colo."

June 1972 Pomona One hundred and fifty family members and guests attended the 58th annual reunion of the Berry family at Westmont Community Center which also honored the 95th birthday of Mrs. Phebe Berry Harbour. A second family picnic honoring Mrs. Harbour was held last week at John Galvin Park in Ontario. Thirty family members attended this party. Mrs. Harbour was born June  15, 1877, in Humboldt. Neb.  She was married to Mat tin L. Harbour in Shawnee, Okla., in April of 19?5. The couple’s first home was in Clements, Kan. In 1921. the family moved to California, settling first in Chini? and later in Ontario. Her husband died a few years ago. The six living children are Mrs. Otto Carls of Pomona. Roy ;M. Harbour of Victorville,: Mrs. Benha Wade, Mrs. Jewell Farris, Newell Harbour and Finley Harbour, all of Ontario.

It's confusing, because there was a Lewis W. Carle claiming two quarters in 24, 5N 47W, one in 1913, another in 1914.

Louis F. T. Carls married Mada Clara Bertha "Lanser", born about 1887 in Wisconsin, on Sept 17, 1905 in Berrien County, Michigan

1910 "Louis Carls was busy a few days treating the boys.  He was appointed mail carrier on the Ford route to begin on July 1st."

In 1910 Magee precinct, Yuma County, Louis Carls, 25 born in Wisconsin, and Mata, 21, Wisconsin, have Irvin 2, Wisconsin, and Margaret 1, Colorado.
 

Louis proved up a quarter in 33, 4N 47W in 1909 , and in 1912 Louis (one of the adult heirs of William Carls, deceased),  claimed a quarter in 14, 3N 48W, witnesses Frank H. Hammond, Lloyd Titterington, Edward Lensert, and William Mulder, all of Yuma.

June 2, 1911 "Dr. Billsborrow reports the arrival of a baby girl at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Louis F. Carls, last Friday night...."

May 2, 1913 " Dawes & Jackson have arranged to put in a branch store at Ford. Three loads of stock was taken out yesterday, and more will go out next week. Louis Carls will have charge of the new enterprise."

The present invention relates to railway rail fastenings and has particular reference to new and useful' improvements in antispreading devices for rails. The primary object of my invention is to provide an anti-spreading device for association with a railway rail and for engagement with a tie for preventing lateral displacement or spreading of the rail.

Louis is a janitor in 1940 Pomona, and they have only Marvin, 20 a "new worker."

The memorial service for Isabel C. Pitts will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at St. John Lutheran Church in Eagle Point Oregon. Mrs. Pitts, 91, of Eagle Point, died Wednesday (Feb. 19, 2003) at her home. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. John Lutheran School Building Fund, 42 Alta Vista Road, Eagle Point, OR 97524. She was born May 26, 1911, in Yuma, Colo., to Louis and Meta (Lensert) Carls. She graduated from Pomona High School in 1929. On Dec. 1, 1945, in Pomona, Calif., she married Ruel W. Pitts, who died in 1995. Mrs. Pitts owned a beauty shop in Claremont, Calif., and worked in fashion retailing in Fairbanks, Alaska. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1976 from Fairbanks, Alaska. She was a charter member of St. John Lutheran Church. Survivors include a son, Bob, Eagle Point; a sister, Carolyn Woodward, Eagle Point; a brother, Erwin Carls, Ashland; one granddaughter; and one great-granddaughter. On June 20, 1928 in Pomona, CA he married Della Coppersmith. She preceded him in death on Aug. 8, 2001, after 73 years of marriage.  Erwin moved from Racine to Yuma, CO and later to Pomona, CA where he lived until 1970 when he moved to Medford, OR. Over the years Erwin held various jobs in the carpentry and tile setting trades. He worked for a number of years as an instructor in tile setting at the Calif. Institution for Men in Chino, CA. During this time he authored a book on the subject, "The Art of Tile Setting." He and Della owned and operated three natural history museums, the most recent one, "Nature's Treasure Chest" in Gold Hill, OR.  His lifetime interest was in the study of natural science and God's creation. He corresponded and exchanged specimens with other collectors all over the world. His vast collection was donated to the Institute for Creation Research in Santee, CA a few years ago. He was considered by many an expert in the field of lepidoptera,  mineralogy, and woods of the world. His name was mentioned in "Who Knows - and What Among Authorities - Experts and the Specially Informed." He was a charter member of the International Wood Collectors Society and an honorary lifetime member.  In addition to his collecting, research and study, Erwin enjoyed his daily Bible reading, his family and friends, attending church and, of course, God's awesome creation. He was a member of Gold Hill Christian Church and Ashland Christian Church.   In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret McKendrick and Isabel Pitts and his brother, Marvin Carls.   One sister, Caroline Woodward of Eagle Point remains.  Other survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, David and Mary Lou Carls of Pomona, CA, his daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Wayne Christian of Ashland, OR, seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. McKendrick of 1515 W. Arrow Highway, Upland, died Sunday morning in Kaiser Foundation Hospital, Fontana, after six months of illness. Mrs. McKendrick was born Nov. 22, 1908 in Yuma, Colo. She came to Pomona in 1927 from Yuma. In 1959 she moved to Newport Beach where she lived until moving to Upland in 1968. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Montclair. Surviving is a son, Thomas of Montclair; two brothers, Erwin W. Carls of Medford, Ore., and Marvin L. Carls of Pomona; two sisters, Mrs. Isabel Pitts of Fairbanks, Alaska. and Mrs. Carolyn Woodward of Medford; a grandson, Thomas McKendrick of Upland and a granddaughter, Miss Jill McKendrick of Montclair. Services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. in Todd Memorial Chapel Pomona. The Rev. Maynard H. Saeger, pastor of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Montclair, will officiate. Burial will be made in Pomona Cemetery.   Thomas William "Bill" McKendrick passed away October 12, 2008 in Lake Havasu City at the age of 75. He was born on June 12, 1933 to Thomas and Margaret (Carls) McKendrick in Pomona, CA. Bill served under the direction of the United States Air Force during the Korean conflict. He married his beloved bride Joan Laird 55 years ago and together they moved to Arizona 17 years ago from Montclair, CA, making Lake Havasu their home 7 years ago. He worked for I.B.E.W. Local #11 as an electrician in Los Angeles, CA for 40 years. Bill was a member of the Elks in Bullhead and Lake Havasu, American Legion in Lake Havasu and Lamb of God Lutheran Church in Lake Havasu. Bill is survived by his loving wife, Joan McKendrick of Lake Havasu; son, Dave (Leslie) McKendrick of Alta Loma, CA; daughter, Jill (Kevin) Ward of Lake Havasu; grandchildren, Jason (Brianna) Ward of Maricopa, AZ, Jennifer (Luke) McKendrick of Alta Loma, CA, Kari (Chance) Ward of Lake Havasu and Tom (Amber) McKendrick of Alta Loma, CA and great grandchildren, Alexis and Jayden of Alta Loma, CA. A celebration of life will be held at Jill's house on Saturday, October 18, 2008 at 3:00 PM.

Cora Emily Lensert married Andrew John Dresen, and they had Lucy "Dee" Isabell in February, 1914. Lucy married Henry Gummer January 4, 1941 and died in an acccident November 22, 1962.

Cora died in 1950, and is buried in Yuma # 48944673, with Andrew Dresen # 48944678.
Cora's obituary lists eight children - John H., Mable Gummer, Edward, Elmer, Conrad A., William W., and Rose (Mrs. Sid) Reynolds.


Elizabeth Lensert married Edgar M. Tribbett on August 26, 1912.
