Helena Sanders was born April 21, 1871 in Outagamie County, Wisconsin to John Sanders.

In 1880 Gosper County, Nebraska Anna Sanders is 9, with parents John E. 35 and Mary 30.  and Emma 7, John 5, Peter 3, and Herman 2 - all kids born in Wisconsin.

In 1880 Nance County, Nebraska Sidney S. Smead is 65, Catharine J. 54, son Hann S. 20, Mary 16, Kate J. 14, and Walter H. 12.

In 1885 H.Walter Smead is 17, in Furnas County, Nebraska, with J. Catherine Smead 59, wife of S. Sidney Smead 70,  J. Katie 18 and   Henry 25.

Walter proved up on a quarter in 22, 4S 47W in 1898 - next to the Shaw families., witnesses Gottleif I. Idler, Jonh (sic) S . Shaw, Abe L. Bidner, and William H. Gerdts.

In 1900 Cope precinct Walter H. Smeade, born May 1868 in Massachusetts, has been married 7 years to Anna, April 1871 Wisconsin.  She's had three children - two living.  Catherine Sept 1897 and Charles W. June 1897 both born in Colorado.

In 1904 Yuma County paid W.H. Smead $25 for being an election clerk and delivering returns.

1904 "Mr. Smead of Cope transacted business in Yuma yesterday."

1906 the Yuma post office had unclaimed letters for Carrie Smead.

In 1910 Walter H. Smead is 41, Anna 39, farming in Canyon County, Idaho, with Catherine , Charley , and Clara E. 3, born in Colorado.  So they left Colorado 1907-1910.

Charles Walter Smeade registered for WWI in Boise Idaho, saying he was born June 1, 1897 in Wray Colorado, nearest relative Walter Smeade of Calliste, Boise, Idaho.  He said his father was born in Massachusetts.
One tree said Catherine Mary Smead married Fred T. Berry Nov 15, 1916 in Nampa, Idaho, and that she was born September 28, 1895 in Cope, Colorado.

One tree said Charley W. Smeade born 1897 in Cope, married Eva Naomi Erickson January 18, 1920 in Boise.  , and that he died in 1968 in Mountain Home and she died Nov 19, 1993.

Fred -1887-1954 and Carrie M. 1895-1978 Berry are buried in Valley View, Malheur County Oregon. 30582254

In 1920 Boise, Idaho, Walter Harrison Smeade -51, a dairyman and Anna Helena Smeade 48 have Clara Edith, 12.   Next to them are Charlie Walter, 22, a laborer for the Idaho Orchard Co.,  and his wife Eva Naomi, 21

Clara Edith Smeade married Lloyd board Nov 8, 1926 in Idaho.

In 1930 Walter and Anna are living with daughter Clara E. and her husband Lloyd Board and their two young kids born in Idaho.  So the Boards moved to California 1928-1930.

In 1933 San Diego Walter H. is a salesman, with Anna at 3762 Highland Avenue.

In 1938 San Diego Anna (Wid W.H.) lives at 4130 39th.

In 1940 Anna is still living with Clara and Lloyd in San Diego at that same address

Anna H. Smeade 1871-1950 and Walter H. 1860-1936 are buried in Holy Cross Cemetery, San Diego, California.  72220611

Anna's death record has her born in Wisconsin April 21, 1871, dying Feb 10, 1950, mother's maiden name Brinkman, father Sanders.
