"Daniel was born Jan 15, 1805, married Juliette Holmes, lived in Waunatosa,
Wisconsin. The family of Daniel Proudfit lived for some years at
Friend, Neb. His son, William Henry, is now a commission merchant in Denver,
Col. He has two sons and a daughter." Proudfit Family History.
In 1870 Grant County, Wisconsin "Dane" is 65, Juliet 47, Hannah 27, Geo 21, Ranson 19, Anna 15, and Libbie 13.
In 1880 Grant County Juliet says she's married, but no spouse, and Anna and Libbie are school teachers.
There's a Frances Platner 19 with her parents Solomon and Margarett Platner in Wayne County New York in 1880. Also in the household is a Frances A. Proudfoot, 29, sister-in-law of Solomon.
Wm. H. Proudfit, 39, born in Wisconsin, married Frances E. Platner, 22, born in New York, in Friend, Nebraska January 14, 1885.
Both "timber-claimed" quarters, Anna in 27, William in 34, in 4S 47W in 1897.
In 1900 Friend, Nebraska, Anna, born Oct 1861, is a school teacher, living with widowed mother Juliet - Aug 1825 New York.
In 1900 Denver William H. Proudfit, July 1847 in Wisconsin, is a commission merchant, married 15 years to Francis E. July 1861 New York. They have Percy P. July 1886 Nebraska, William S. Oct 1888, Alice J. July 1894, and Daniel June 1896, these three in Colorado. With them is Soloman Platner, father-in-law, March 1830 New York, a retired merchant.
In 1910 William - a lumber merchant - and Frances are in Lincoln, Nebraska, with Percy P. 24 - lumber yard - , William S. 21 - auto dealer, Juliett A. 16, Daniel R. 13, and Ransom C. 6.
They're still in Lincoln in 1920, and in 1930 Frances is widowed.
William received a pension commencing May 1, 1920 for service in Pt K. 47th
Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry.
| July 1928 Lincoln Evening Journal William H. Proudfit, eighty, a resident of Lincoln for twenty-three years, died at 7 a m. Wednesday at his home, 2710 Ryons Street. Mr. Proudflt has been connected continuously since his coming to Lincoln with merchandising, chiefly with the furniture business that bears his name. He first came to Nebraska in 1876, locating at Friend. He conducted a general merchandise establishment there for over ten years, then moved to Denver, Colo., where he was connected with a commission house. He moved to Lincoln from Denver. He enlisted in 1864 at Lancaster, Wis., and served until the close of the war with the Union army. He was married at Friend, Neb, in January, 1885. His wife, Frances, survives him besides two sisters, Mrs. John Rule of Clayton, Kas., and Annie Proudfit of Los Angeles, Calif.; four sons, P. P. of Chadron, Neb., W. S. of Topeka, Kas., Daniel R, and R. C. of Lincoln, and one daughter, Mrs. Juliet Harvey of Kansas City, Mo. Mr. Proudfit was a member of Farragut post, G. A. R. and of the B. P. O. Elks. He attended the Holy Trinity Episcopal church. The body is at Roberts' pending funeral arrangements |

Anna is retired in 1930 and 1940 Long Beach, California.
Annie Louise Proudfit born Sep 19, 1854 in Wisconsin, died Aug 16, 1946 in Los Angeles, mother's maiden name Holmes, father's Proudfit.
