February 1904 Honey Gulch items in Elbert County "Mr. and Mrs. Daniel D. Detwiler and Miss Mabel Anderson spent Monday evening with Mr. Ira Hadsell and family. Miss Anderson's school closes Friday. She has taught a good school and the parents of her pupils are well pleased. Ira Hadsell called on County Superintendent of Schools Mrs. Georgia last Friday and asked her to declare a vacancy existing on our school board and to fill it by appointment, which she did and appointed D. D. Detwiler to fill the vacancy. Thanks to Mrs. Georgia."
"Mr and Mrs. John H. Jones entertained the following at cards Wednesday night: Mr. and Mrs. Dan. Detwiler, Mr. and Mrs. Ira Hadsell, Misses Blanch and Beryl Clow of Elizabeth, Misses Mabel Anderson, Kittie Hadsell, Annie Oaks; Messrs. Edwin Hadsell, Earl Oaks, John and Albert Wight. April 1906

December 1906 "Mr. G. A. Reifel of Wymore, Neb., and Miss Nettie B. Hadsell were married last Wednesday, Dec. 19, at the home of the bride's parents seven miles north of Elbert. Rev. J. W. Presly of Elizabeth officiating. The bride was attended by Miss Vivian Shane and Mr. Edwin M. Hudseil was best man. The ceremony took place at high noon in the presence of about twenty guests. The newly married couple will reside at Wymore, where the groom is employed by the C.B. & Q. railway as fireman. They have the well wishes of many friends in this community."

March 1907 "Ed and Tom Clark, couductor and brakeman on the C. & S. railroad, are visiting their sister, Mrs. Ira Hadsell southeast of town. Tom is recovering from a spell of sickness, and knew where to come for plenty of pure air and good grub."

July 1907 "Tom Clark, brakeman on the C. & S., accomnpanied by his wife, is visiting his sister, Mrs. Hadsell, and family.
Mrs . Ella Hadsell and family, Tom Clark and wife, Joe Farris and wife and Grace Kearns visited at Ben Talbott's Sunday."

September 1907 "Mr. and Mrs. George Reifel are visiting her mother, Mrs. Hadsell, and brothers on the ranch.
C. H. Fox and family, Mrs. Hadsell and family and Al Palbott, wife and son Harald of Elizabeth, all spent Sunday at the Ben Talbott home where Ben gave them a flue treat of home-grown watermelons.
Ed Steinke of Denver visited Ed Hadsell and other neighbors this week.
C. H. Fox was cutting corn for Ed Hadsell first of the week."

January 8, 1909 "Mr and Mrs. Ben Talbott entertained a party of young folks at dinner Sunday. The guests were: Misses Clara Hansen, Clara and Maggie Talbott, Dora and Bertha Fox, and Messrs. Harry Christensen, _Harry Talbott and Ed Hadsell. They were treated to a fine dinner and entertained with music.
Our new County Sheriff brought our school teacher, Miss Minerva Aux, to her boarding place, C. H. Fox's, Sunday.
Ed Hadsell is working on a stock well and has struck a good flow of water.
Ben Talhott visited at the Hadsell home Sunday evening."
