Cornelius Friesen, David D. Friesen, Jacob J. Friesen, Jacob G. Friesen, Jacob and Sarah (Friesen) Buller,  Kirk
 

In 1880 York County, Nebraska Jacob Freasen is 35, Sarah 33, with Sarah 12, George 10, Peter 8, Jacob 6, and Helena two months.

Helena is probably the Helena Fadenrecht in 1900 Cope precinct next to the Friesens - she's 20, married to Rudolph E. , 23.  Rudolph Edward Fadenrecht registered in Yuma County, born Nov 5, 1865, naturalized., wife  Lena Fadenrecht.

Cornelius proved up 180 acres in 23, 4S 47W in 1894, and cash-claimed another 180 acres next to it in 1891.

One tree has a Cornelius (Corny) David Friesen born July 4, 1868 in Russia, immigrated in 1879 and died Jan 25, 1919.  He married Aganetha (Nettie) Boese, who married John L. Hodel in 1920.  Nettie died Feb 28, 1937 in Bakersfield, California, and is buried in Greenlawn, Bakersfield.  Children were Agnes Nettie born March 1896 Zelma Louise May 1898 both in Pueblo, Colorado, Cornelius David and Carl John, both born Nov 19, 1903 in Kansas.

In 1880 Hamilton County, Nebraska David Friesen 45 and Sarah 36 have Hattie 16, David 13, Cornelius 10, John 7, and Peter six months.

David cash-claimed two quarters in 14, 4S 47W in 1891, and proved up another quarter in 1894.

In 1900 Pueblo, Colorado David D., farming , born Jan 1867 and Sarah April 1879, both Germany, have Lydia May 1897 and Louisa Dec 1899 , both Colorado.

In 1910 David and Sarah are farming in Kern County, California. 

 David D. Friesen 1866-1939 and Sarah B. 1879-1968  are also buried in Greenlawn, Kern County.  California records have Sarah born April 15, 1879, dying June 15, 1968, mother's maiden name Fast.

Jacob Buller cash-claimed a quarter in 13, 4S 47W in 1891, and proved up another quarter in 1894 - joining David Friesen's claims.

In 1900 Pueblo County is Jacob Buller, farming, Feb 1858 and Agatha Mar 1865, both born in Russia, withAarah May 1885, Nebraska, David Oct 1887 Nebraska, Catarina Jan 1892, Ageta Sep 1896, and John June 1898 - these three born in Colorado.

On the same census page for 1900 Pueblo is Cornelius July 1869 and Agnes April 1870, both Germany, with Bertha Apr 1897, Agnes May 1896, Selma May 1898, all three girls born in Colorado, and brother John Friesen Oct 1874 Germany.

Cornelius D. and "Gettie" , both 40, are farming in Pueblo County in 1910, with Bertha 16, Agnes 14, Gilda 12, Earl 6, Cornelius 4, and Ester 3.

Zelma Louise Kroeker, born May 4, 1898 in Colorado, died September 28, 1988 in Fresno, mother's name Boese, father Friesen.

 "Corneliu" D. Friesen, born about 1870, died January 25, 1919 in Kern County, California.

In 1920 Bakersfield, Sarah Friesen is with grand-daughter Sarah Harms, 33, Nebraska and her husband Garrett P. Harms, with their two daughters.  Also with them is Catherine 26 and Agatha 33 Buller, both born in Colorado, sisters of Sarah Harms.

In 1900 Jacob G. Friesen, September 1843 and Sarah July 1846, both born in Russia, are in Cope precinct, with Herman J. Jan 1882, Catherina  January 1883, ? J. January 1887, and  September 1888, all kids born in Nebraska.

 

Next line is  Jacob J.   August 1873 and Caroline September 1872, both Russia, and Louise B., June 1896, adopted daughter born in Colorado.

Jacob G. Friesen proved up a quarter in 4, 5S 47W in 1901.

Jacob J. Friesen proved up on a quarter in 4, 5S 47W in 1909, witnesses Abraham Heinrichs, John Hill, Bernhard Warkentine, and Abraham A. Heinrichs.

In 1910 Kirk precinct Jacob G. and Sarah are with daughter Mary Nikkel 21, her husband Carl 26, Ruth 2, and Alvin seven months.

He immigrated from Grossweide, Molotschna, July 2, 1878, bound for Sutton, Nebraska, per the Bremen departure lists. They moved to Colorado in 1893. Became reader on Jan. 10, 1880. He was ordained on Jan. 22, 1882. He was confirmed as Aeltester on July 23, 1906. He remarried after Sarah's death in Joes December 14, 1910, but no information is available from the family concerning his second wife. It is believed that they separated. 1908-1935 Border Crossings shows Jacob crossing at North Portal, Saskatchewan with wife Eva. 1916 Canada Census shows him living in Laird with Eva, Also shows son Jacob J. and wife Katherine, daughters Louise and Elizabeth living in Hepburn, Saskatchewan.   He died June 9, 1919 and is buried in Joes.

In 1910 J.J. Friesen was one of 15 Kirk delegates to the county Republican convention.

Jacob G. Friesen - 1844-1910 and Sarah Friesen 1817-1910 are buried in New Hope Cemetery, Joes.

Rudolph E. Fadenrecht, Nov 5, 1876 - Apr 1, 1961 is buried in Enterprise Cemetery, Ferndale, Washington.  The FAG listing has five children, but no spouse recorded.

There's a Lena Fadenrecht - 1880-1929 buried in Hepburn Cemetery, Saskatchewan.

Leander "Lee" Fadenrecht was born July 19, 1918 in Kirk, Colorado to Rudolph & Lena (Friesen) Fadenrecht. He was surrounded by his children when the Lord called him home on September 16, 2010 in Gresham, Oregon.

Lee was the youngest of seven children. His family farmed in Joes, Colorado and Hepburn, Saskatchewan where he graduated from high school. His fondest childhood memory was galloping on his horse Polly. Lee attended Tabor College in Hillsboro Kansas where he met the love of his life, Rosella Claassen. They married on August 17, 1947 in Dallas Oregon. To that union were born seven children. Rosella preceded him in death in 2002 after 55 years of marriage.

They settled near Bellingham Washington where Lee was a Boiler Marker at the Bellingham Shipyards and also worked as a salesman for Curtis Publishing. In 1960 he moved his family to Portland. He worked for Bower Moving and Storage in Vancouver. He also worked briefly for Schwartz Moving and Storage retiring in 1981. In 2005, Lee moved to Gresham where he resided until his death.

Family was Leander's first priority. He was supportive and generous, a true role model for his children. He was an active member of Montavilla Baptist Church and later Hinson Memorial Baptist Church where he served as deacon and sang in the choir. Lee and Rosella loved to sing and passed that love on to their children.

He greatly enjoyed his fourteen grandchildren and was so excited for his first great grandchild who brought him much joy in his final days.

In addition to his wife, Rosella, Lee was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Janice in 1948, four brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his children Marilyn Darby (Mike) of Redmond, Oregon; Jeannette Fadenrecht of Gresham, Oregon; Allen Fadenrecht (Marilyn) of Damascus, Oregon; Warren Fadenrecht (Alicia) of Oakland, Florida; Ruth Whiteley (Jeff) of McMinnville, Oregon; Sharon Young (Ken) of Eugene, Oregon; 14 Grandchildren – Maria Crowley, Megan Darby, Maureen Boothe, Andrew Fadenrecht, Laura Fadenrecht, Cory Fadenrecht, Emily Fadenrecht, Tyler Fadenrecht, Tara Fadenrecht, Tessa Fadenrecht, Kevin Doyle, Jenna Doyle, Donald Young, Pam Young and one Great Grandchild, Brody Crowley and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 19, 2010 at 10:00 am at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Saturday, September 18th from 12:00 pm -4:00 pm also at Bateman Carroll. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery.

George is in Hillsboro, Kansas in 1940, a student at Tabor College - he said he was in Sask., Canada in 1935.

George H. Fadenrecht, 92, died March 22, 2007 in Ellensburg, Washington.
He was born Feb. 17, 1915, into a Mennonite Brethren Home on a farm in Joes, Colo., the sixth of seven children of Rudolph E. and Lena (Friesen) Fadenrecht.
At the age of 10 his family moved to Hepburn, Saskatchewan, Canada, where he spent his growing up years on a farm.

His mother died when he was 14. After eighth grade he began full-time work on the farm. After six years of farming he began at Hepburn High School as a 21-year-old freshman.
George attended church all his life. In 1934 he was baptized and through his adult life he taught Sunday school. He also served as deacon and as an elder in two Baptist and two Presbyterian churches.
George attended Tabor College in Hillsboro, Kan. He received his teaching certificate and later taught in a one-room schoolhouse. As a conscientious objector during World War II he registered for the draft and on Aug. 15, 1941 he was assigned to CPS Camp No. 5 in Colorado Springs, Colo., where he worked for 17 months in soil conservation from 8-15-1941 to 11-27-1945. He was then transferred to the Colorado Psychopathic Hospital in Denver where he worked with the mentally ill. While there he met his future wife, Florence Blocher, a student nurse from the Mennonite School of Nursing in La Junta. They were married May 26, 1944. The couple returned to Hillsboro where he received a degree in child psychology. He continued graduate studies at the universities of Kansas, Colorado and Michigan.
George moved his family to Ellensburg in 1964 where he was dean of libraries at Central Washington University. Professionally, George was active in the American Historical Association, The Kansas Historical Association, the American Library Association, the Kansas Library Association and the Washington Library Association. He participated in the Retired Teachers Association and the CWU Retiree Group. He retired in 1982 and enjoyed his family, friends, church and the many restaurants he frequented in Ellensburg. He loved reading, woodworking, travel and photography.
George is survived by his children, Nancy (Clyde) Grant, Everett; Janice (David) Mirro, Ellensburg; Beverly (William) Badger, Honeoye, N.Y., and James (Dana) Fadenrecht, Everett; grandchildren, Sonia (Grant) and (Do) Jobe, Laura (Grant) and (Suwaibu) Demba, C. Edward Grant, all of Everett; George Grant, Washington, D.C., Elizabeth Mirro and (Jon) Pece, Spokane; Nathan and (Kari) Mirro, Ellensburg; Jonathan Mirro, Rapid City, S.D., Sarah and (Brian) O'Brien-Murray, Rochester, N.Y.; Alyson and Andrea Badger, Honeoye, N.Y.; great-granddaughter, Madeline Mirro, Ellensburg; brother, Leander Fadenrecht of Gresham, Ore.; sisters-in-law, Frieda
Fadenrecht, Lynden, Lena Fadenrecht, Yuma, Colo., and Ruth Emerson Pike of Elkhart, Ind.; plus many nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his wife of almost 60 years, Florence Blocher Fadenrecht; parents; brothers: Jake, Edward and Herman Fadenrecht, sisters: Sarah Willems and Lottie Fadenrecht.
George will be greatly missed. Services are Saturday, March 31, at the First Presbyterian Church followed by a graveside burial at IOOF Cemetery. Viewing at Steward & Williams Tribute Center.
Memorials may be made to the Union Gospel Mission of Yakima, the First Presbyterian Church of Ellensburg or Tabor College, Hillsboro, Kan.
