George is in Hillsboro, Kansas in 1940, a student at Tabor College - he said he was in Sask., Canada in 1935.

George H. Fadenrecht, 92, died March 22, 2007 in Ellensburg, Washington.
He was born Feb. 17, 1915, into a Mennonite Brethren Home on a farm in Joes, Colo., the sixth of seven children of Rudolph E. and Lena (Friesen) Fadenrecht.
At the age of 10 his family moved to Hepburn, Saskatchewan, Canada, where he spent his growing up years on a farm.

His mother died when he was 14. After eighth grade he began full-time work on the farm. After six years of farming he began at Hepburn High School as a 21-year-old freshman.
George attended church all his life. In 1934 he was baptized and through his adult life he taught Sunday school. He also served as deacon and as an elder in two Baptist and two Presbyterian churches.
George attended Tabor College in Hillsboro, Kan. He received his teaching certificate and later taught in a one-room schoolhouse. As a conscientious objector during World War II he registered for the draft and on Aug. 15, 1941 he was assigned to CPS Camp No. 5 in Colorado Springs, Colo., where he worked for 17 months in soil conservation from 8-15-1941 to 11-27-1945. He was then transferred to the Colorado Psychopathic Hospital in Denver where he worked with the mentally ill. While there he met his future wife, Florence Blocher, a student nurse from the Mennonite School of Nursing in La Junta. They were married May 26, 1944. The couple returned to Hillsboro where he received a degree in child psychology. He continued graduate studies at the universities of Kansas, Colorado and Michigan.
George moved his family to Ellensburg in 1964 where he was dean of libraries at Central Washington University. Professionally, George was active in the American Historical Association, The Kansas Historical Association, the American Library Association, the Kansas Library Association and the Washington Library Association. He participated in the Retired Teachers Association and the CWU Retiree Group. He retired in 1982 and enjoyed his family, friends, church and the many restaurants he frequented in Ellensburg. He loved reading, woodworking, travel and photography.
George is survived by his children, Nancy (Clyde) Grant, Everett; Janice (David) Mirro, Ellensburg; Beverly (William) Badger, Honeoye, N.Y., and James (Dana) Fadenrecht, Everett; grandchildren, Sonia (Grant) and (Do) Jobe, Laura (Grant) and (Suwaibu) Demba, C. Edward Grant, all of Everett; George Grant, Washington, D.C., Elizabeth Mirro and (Jon) Pece, Spokane; Nathan and (Kari) Mirro, Ellensburg; Jonathan Mirro, Rapid City, S.D., Sarah and (Brian) O'Brien-Murray, Rochester, N.Y.; Alyson and Andrea Badger, Honeoye, N.Y.; great-granddaughter, Madeline Mirro, Ellensburg; brother, Leander Fadenrecht of Gresham, Ore.; sisters-in-law, Frieda
Fadenrecht, Lynden, Lena Fadenrecht, Yuma, Colo., and Ruth Emerson Pike of Elkhart, Ind.; plus many nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his wife of almost 60 years, Florence Blocher Fadenrecht; parents; brothers: Jake, Edward and Herman Fadenrecht, sisters: Sarah Willems and Lottie Fadenrecht.
George will be greatly missed. Services are Saturday, March 31, at the First Presbyterian Church followed by a graveside burial at IOOF Cemetery. Viewing at Steward & Williams Tribute Center.
Memorials may be made to the Union Gospel Mission of Yakima, the First Presbyterian Church of Ellensburg or Tabor College, Hillsboro, Kan.

Leander "Lee" Fadenrecht was born July 19, 1918 in Kirk, Colorado to Rudolph & Lena (Friesen) Fadenrecht. He was surrounded by his children when the Lord called him home on September 16, 2010 in Gresham, Oregon.

Lee was the youngest of seven children. His family farmed in Joes, Colorado and Hepburn, Saskatchewan where he graduated from high school. His fondest childhood memory was galloping on his horse Polly. Lee attended Tabor College in Hillsboro Kansas where he met the love of his life, Rosella Claassen. They married on August 17, 1947 in Dallas Oregon. To that union were born seven children. Rosella preceded him in death in 2002 after 55 years of marriage.

They settled near Bellingham Washington where Lee was a Boiler Marker at the Bellingham Shipyards and also worked as a salesman for Curtis Publishing. In 1960 he moved his family to Portland. He worked for Bower Moving and Storage in Vancouver. He also worked briefly for Schwartz Moving and Storage retiring in 1981. In 2005, Lee moved to Gresham where he resided until his death.

Family was Leander's first priority. He was supportive and generous, a true role model for his children. He was an active member of Montavilla Baptist Church and later Hinson Memorial Baptist Church where he served as deacon and sang in the choir. Lee and Rosella loved to sing and passed that love on to their children.

He greatly enjoyed his fourteen grandchildren and was so excited for his first great grandchild who brought him much joy in his final days.

In addition to his wife, Rosella, Lee was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Janice in 1948, four brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his children Marilyn Darby (Mike) of Redmond, Oregon; Jeannette Fadenrecht of Gresham, Oregon; Allen Fadenrecht (Marilyn) of Damascus, Oregon; Warren Fadenrecht (Alicia) of Oakland, Florida; Ruth Whiteley (Jeff) of McMinnville, Oregon; Sharon Young (Ken) of Eugene, Oregon; 14 Grandchildren – Maria Crowley, Megan Darby, Maureen Boothe, Andrew Fadenrecht, Laura Fadenrecht, Cory Fadenrecht, Emily Fadenrecht, Tyler Fadenrecht, Tara Fadenrecht, Tessa Fadenrecht, Kevin Doyle, Jenna Doyle, Donald Young, Pam Young and one Great Grandchild, Brody Crowley and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 19, 2010 at 10:00 am at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Saturday, September 18th from 12:00 pm -4:00 pm also at Bateman Carroll. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
