One family member, Ethel Hudelson Poole, had a wonderful story "Aunt Mary Ann Hudelson Colpitt had five boys and three girls. I remember all of them quite well. And can remember visiting in their home a number of times. Uncle Tom Colpitt died in Missouri and was one of the first to be buried in the Burlington Junction Cemetery. I remember going with Papa (Dr. Julius Hudelson) to try to find Uncle Tom's grave and put flowers on it. But, being no marker we had only the location where Papa thought he lay. Aunt Mary Ann was left with seven children and the eighth one was born three months after Uncle Tom's death. The children were: Walter, Will or Billy as we all called him, Ella, who married Bob King, Lizzie, Dick, Otto, Cynthia and Ed, who was two years older than me, and we had great times together. Aunt Mary Ann, Papa and Uncle "Jake" and Grandmother Hudelson moved to Nebraska, then only a lone prairie. Aunt Mary Ann, Walter and Lizzie settled on claims east of Imperial while Papa, Uncle Jake and his daughter "Nannie" (who later became Mrs. Frank Renshaw), Grandma and Will settled west of Imperial close up to the small town of Chase. Papa's claim ran clear to the town of Chase. He farmed right up to the Drug Store on the east and Will's claim joined ours on the South. The cemetery was on Will's claim and the first person buried there was Lee Hudelson's wife, Louisa, or "Lydia" who was Mama's sister. Next was "Lydia's" infant son. And then Will Colpitt's infant. I started to school in the first school house, the first term and still have my first report card. Miss Jessie Kingery was the teacher."
