1905 "The Elwood family arrived in Yuma this week and will go out on the old O.H. Johnson ranch, which Mr. Elwood recently purchased.
1905 "Mr. Elwood and family of Minneapolis, who purchased the O.H. Johnson ranch 18 miles north of Yuma arrived on No. 1 Sunday."
1908 "Triplett & Noe have bought I.J. Elwood and will conduct the business in connection with an automobile livery. They start out with four cars and will add more when demand makes it necessary."
1909 "I.J. Elwood has rented the Sarah Scott farm east of town (Yuma)"
"We understand that Ed Lett has contested the I.J. Elwood homestead and the case comes up today in Wray."
1909 "Carl McNichols and Gerry Brower were in Wray Friday evening and Saturday as witnesses in the Lett Elwood contest before Judge Jennings."
In 1910 Yuma County "Ike J." Elwood, 51, born in Iowa, and Mimie E. 44, Iowa have Jessie M. 13, born in Iowa.
1911 "Half a dozen auto loads of Yuma people went over to the Platte river, north of Sterling, for an outing Sunday. The cars.... Studebaker - Mr. and Mrs. I.J. Elwood and children, May, Ward, and Claude.
1914
1915 "John and Wm. Williams, who recently purchased the Elwood farm, northeast of Yuma, departed last Friday evening for Smith Center, Kansas. They expect to return in the fall to make their home in Yuma County."
Isaac J. - Dec 9, 1858 - April 14, 1921 and Minnie E. OSTRANDE Elwood - Aug 15, 1865 - Nov 26, 1952 are buried in the Wheatland Wyoming cemetery.
In 1910 north Yuma County brothers Ward, 23, Claude 18, and Max 16, all born in Iowa, are farming.
Claude proved up on 320 acres - mostly in section 18 - in 4N 45W in 1916
April 14, 1917 he married Beulah Estep in Colorado
He registered for WWI in Haigler, Nebraska, saying he was married, born November 1, 1890 in Elma, Iowa,.
In 1920 Claude is married to Buelah H., 22, and they're living with mother-in-law Eva N. Estep, widowed, and her son Jay A. Estep, 19.
In 1930 C.K. and Beulah are in Platte County, Wyoming.
In 1940 they're still there, and Claude is running a grocery store.
Claude died May 29, 1974, and Beulah Hazel Estep Elwood July 4, 1897 - September 22, 1996 are buried in the Wheatland Cemetery.
Ward Elwood married Katherine Moser February 14, 1912
Ward Isaac Elwood also registered in Haigler, saying he was born June 2, 1886, and had a wife,
"Ward I Elwood and Miss Kaherine Moser, both of Yuma were married at the M.E. parsonage in Wray on the 14th inst. . Mesdames Elwood and Moser, mothers of the contracting parties were present." Rattler - February 15, 1912.
March 20, 1914 "Dr. Billsborrow announces the arrival on Monday, March 16, of a baby boy to gladden the hearts of Mr. and Mrs. Ward Elwood."
Ward - May 22 1886 - Dec 25, 1955 and Mary Katherine MOSER Elwood -August 12, 1893 in Portis, Kansas - died Jan 17, 1983 - are also buried in Wheatland.
Roderick Max Elwood also registered in Haigler, saying he was born December 2, 1893 in Elma, Iowa.
In 1930 Platte County, Wyoming, Roderick is married to Blanche, 29,born in Michigan and they have Byrd, 3.born in Wyoming,.
In 1940 Fremont County, Wyoming R.Max is farming, and A. Blanche is a clerk in a store. Byrd is 13, and L Maxine 9 are both born in Wyoming.
Roderick M. - Dec 2, 1893 - Aug 5, 1951 and Alice Blanche CONAN Elwood - Aug 13, 1900 - Feb 24, 1991 are both in the Riverton, Fremont County, Mountain View Cemetery.
Madge Elwood married Fred Strong June 2, 1909
In 1910 they're farming near Yuma. Fred 30 - Madge no age. Fred Charles Strong, born Oct 3, 1880 registered in Yuma.
They're there in 1920, Fred C. with no age, Madge E 31, have Meda 9, born in Colorado.
In 1930 they're in Goshen County, Wyoming, - Meda has no occupation.
Fred died 1858 and Madge in 1980, and they're buried in the Torrington cemetery.
