Ross W. DeWester, parents Fred and Martha DeWester, Pleasant Valley

Jacob DeWester was born in Germany in 1840, immigrated to Rush County Indiana in 1853, and enlisted in the 16th Indiana, serving at the battles of Richmond and Vicksburg. He had the buttons shot from his clothing, but was never wounded. He was discharged in 1865, and moved to Adamis County, Nebraska in 1872. His children with Martha were Jacob, John Lizzie (Mrs. Ale( Fred, Hattie, and Minnie.
In 1900 Hastings, Nebraska, Fred M. Dewester is a laborer, born Jan 1871 in Indiana, married seven years to Martha L. Sept 1874 Iowa. Ross W. May 1894, Minnie B. Aept 1896, and Martha L. Jan 1899 were all born in Nebraska. Martha's mother Rebecca Baker Dec 1835 Kentucky and mother Jane E. Leak Ddec 1843 Indiana, both widowed are with them.
In 1910 Hastings, they've added Ruby 9, Louisa 3, Louis 3, and Ralph 1.
Ross William Dewester registered with an Eckley address, born June 21, 1894 at Wanda, Nebrfaska, supporting his father and mother.
He was called up to be entrained on August 5, 1918. Here he had a Haxtun address.
Ross proved up two quarters in 25, 4N 46W in 1919.
His parents were with him in Yuma County, per his father's obituary.
Ross is in Box Butte County, Nebraska in 1920, living with parents, siblings Louise, Louis, Ralph, and Laura F. 9. Niece Ella May Stalsworth, 3 is with the family. His mother died July 1924 "Martha Ann was the daughter of Rebecca Martha [Baker] & Charles M Leak. She married Frederick Matthew DeWester 3 Aug 1893 in Adams County, Nebraska. She bore him 3 sons [Ross, Ralph, Louis [a twin]] and 5 daughters [Minnie, Pearl, Ruby, Louisa [a twin] and Laura]. ", # 21850788

In 1920 Box Butte County, Hally B. and Edith C. Gillespie have Stella 12 South Dakota, Hally J. 7 and Eddit T. 4 both born in Nebraska, and stepdaughter Fannie I. Webb, 16, born in Nebraska.

Fannie Ida (Webb) DeWester 1904-1925 is buried in Alliance, Nebraska, # 21850684.
"Fannie was the first wife of Ross William DeWester. She bore Ross 1 son Morris Roy [born about 1925]. "
In 1930 he's in Denver, 35, married to Ethel, 19, born in Iowa. Son Morris, 5, Nebraska, and brother Ralph, 21 are with them. Ross is a carpenter, Ralph a painter.
In 1940 Ross and Ethel are in Mesa County, Colorado, wehre he is a cement laborer. Morris is 15, Marcella M. 8 and Merril 5 are both born in Colorado.
Fred died in 1945 "Frederick was the son of Martha J [Little] & Jacob DeWester. He married [1] Martha Ann Leak 3 Aug 1893 in Adams County, Nebraska. They had 3 sons Ross, Ralph, Louis [a twin], 5 daughters Minnie, Pearl, Ruby, Louisa [a twin] and Laura. [2] Myra Mae Green 21 Oct 1925 in Alliance, Box Butte, Nebraska " # 21850560.



In 1960 Denver, Merril L. works for Gates Rubber, Roger F. is a student, and both live with Ross an Ethel at 2210 S. Cherokee.
Ross 1894-1969 is buried in Fort Logan # 21891306, Ethel 1910-2002 is buried next to Ross in Fort Logan, # 21891323.

Marcella, per one tree, married Richard Rea, and died March 4, 19995, last residence Denver.

Marcella's daughter Terrie Lee Rea 1953-1953 is buried in Fairmount, Denver, # 55861058.
