"Heirs of Walter Sachse" proved up 160 acres in sections 28 and 33, 4N 44W in 1905. That was the only claim for miles around.

Fredk Gutekunst and Christian , both 29, have Anna 6 and Pauline newborn, arriving in New York April 27, 1847.
Agnes Sachse 1841-1872, wife of Ferdnand, is buried in Flint, Michigan # 29425155.
Ferdinand Sachse married Paulina Gutekunst in Calhoun County, Michigan March 20, 1873.
Walter Sachsee was born August 27, 1875 in Flint, Genesee County, Michigan to Ferdinand and Polly Sachsee, both born in Germany.
In 1880 Calhoun County, Frederick is 62, Christina 61, Jacob 23, and daughter Polly "Saru" 33, widowed, with Walter 1.
Frederick Gutekunst, 31 and his family are next door.
Frederick 1818-1884 is buried in the Lyon Lake Cemetery # 24086797.
So is Christina Catharina Walz Gutekunst 1818-1892 # 24086788.
Wonder if Walter Sachse is really the Walter T. Jones 1876-1898 # 35422725 in Calhoun County, with his taking on his step-father's name????
Ferdnand Sachse 1835-1875 # 29425141 is buried in Flint, Genesee County, Michigan.
Polly Sachse married Ezra Jones in Calhoun County March 15, 1881.
January 6, 1899 Hudson, Michigan, Post "Funeral of Walter Sachse held last Sunday at home of his parnets, near Marshall. Lived in Hudson for several years. He died Friday, aged 23. Had worked for Bean-Chamberlain." ["The Hudson was an automobile built in Hudson, Michigan by the Bean-Chamberlain Manufacturing Company from 1901-02. It had no relationship to the Hudson Motor Car Company of Detroit, Michigan. The Hudson was a light steamer, with a vertical two-cylinder engine, single chain drive, and tiller steering." In 1900 Calhoun County, Ezra is farming, born January 1856 in Michigan,
married 18 years to Pauline Dec 1846 Germany. She's had four children, two living. Lydia April 1883 and Roy July 1889 both born in Michigan.
In 1910 Calhoun County, Ezra - his first marriage - Pollena's second - she says she's had three children, two living. Roy is 21, a farm laborer.

Mrs. Charles Buriff of Dayton, O., is spending several days in Marshall at the Marshall Tavern, having been called by the death of her aunt, Mrs. Ezra Jones of Tekonsha. Mrs. Buriff is the daughter of the late Fidelia Kincaid-Weeks, who was a resident of Marshall for many years, and the late Rev. J. Warren Weeks, who was at one time pastor of the Marshall Christian Church."

Her death certificate says she was born December 27, 1845 in Germany, mother's maiden name Katherine Waltz -
Roy Jones, age 36, of Tekousha, Fredonia County, a farmer, son of Ezra Jones and Polly "Goodnick", married Hazel Becker 21 on January 1, 1916 in Battle Creek.
In 1940 Calhoun County, Roy W. is 49, Hazel A. 45, with Charlotte 9, all born in Michigan.
Roy 1890-1949 is buried in Alpena, Michigan, per # 123393331. But this says his spouse was Agnes 1844-1904.
He might be the father of Roy Henry Jones 1917-2003 buried in Alpena County # 20775988.
And the grandfather of Wayne dying in 2010 "Wayne was a member of Long Rapids Congregational Church, Alpena County Fair Board, and Ramblin Rods Car Club. He loved his family and the time they spent together.
Surviving were his wife, Sheila Jones; 5 children, Christopher Jones of Alpena, Denise Smith of Cincinnati, OH, Christina and Travis Schultz of Hillman, Roberta and James Serum of Higgins Lake, Jeremy and Lynn Jones; 10 grandchildren, Branden, Nicholas, Michaela, Brett, Desiree, Jacob, Joseph, Joshua, Connor, Keira; 4 siblings, Carole Jones and friend Gary Jelinek of Lachine, Marilyn and Bill Ristau of Alpena, Gary and Dixie Jones of Lachine, Larry and Cindy Jones of Knoxville, TN; several nieces and nephews, and his dog, Bear.
