William Kendrick 1838-1903 is buried in Denver #13466483.
In 1910 Gilpin County, Colorado, Robert Pritchard is running a grocery store, 44, second marriage, of 16 years, born in Wales. Elizabeth is 38, Leroy 13, Robert A. 9, and Carolyn 3.
Alex Marga married Elizabeth K. Pritchard on February 19, 1913, recorded in Jefferson County, Colorado.
Alexander proved up 320 acres in sections 13, 23 and 24, 4N 44W in 1918.
His witnesses in September 1917 were John W. Wilkins, Floyd E. Galbreath, John Conover, and Ed.. Nelson, all of Wray.
He might be the Alexander O. Marg? in 1910 Cherry County, Nebraska, 21 born in Russia, a hired man on a ranch. He immigrated in 1906 through Pennsylvania.
October 11, 1917 "Andrew Flury of Yuma, Alexander Marga, of Wray,
and F. W. Villm, whose address is Holyoke, were
given certificates of naturalization at the
opening of the present term of court Tuesday.
They represent three nationalities: Swiss,
German and Russian."
Alex registered for WWI in Wray, born May 15, 1885, farming with Elizabeth as his reference.
Roy Benj. Pritchard, Ship's clerk 1st Class, served in the Navy from Yuma Couty.
September 26, 1918 "Roy Pritchard, in the U. S. Navy, stationed at New London, Conn.,
arrived home Monday forenoon on a thirty-day leave, and is visiting his mother, Mrs, Alex Marga,
north of town. Mrs. Marga was in Mr. Klingners store that morning reading a letter she had just
received from Roy in which he stated there was nothing certain about his getting a furlough,
owing to conditions there, but that would come if he could. Just as she had about concluded
the letter in walked her son, he having arrived on train 9, and she was just about the
happiest mother anyone could have wished to see. Roy has thirty days leave,
with eight days additional for travelling."
In 1919 Alex was one of 300 names on the potential juror list for Yuma County.
June 1919 "Mrs. Alex "Magna" from the sand hills is visiting her sister in Denver."
Alex must have moved from his claim - in 1920 the atlas has his claim as part of T. E. Floyd's ranch.
In January 1922 there was a constable's sale for the goods of W.G. Plumleigh and the Wray Auto Co., for #131.80 due Alex Marga.
Alex was delinquent on taxes for a lot in Wray in 1922.
In February 1923 the Bain band was at Laird, with Carolyn Pritchard as whistling soloist.
In April 1923 the band led by Mr. Bain was to give a concert at the Riverside school west of Vernon, including a whistling solo by Carolyn Prichard.
In 1927 Denver, Alex and Elizabeth live at 1440 Elati.
In 1930 Alexander is a carpenter in Denver, 47, with Elizabeth 52 born in Pennsylvania. On the same page are Merle and Carolyne Gaten, with Mark 3 and Elizabeth 2.
Alex registered for WWII with an address of 1822 S. Clarkson, Denver, with reference Elizabeth K. Marga. He was employed by Colorado Springs Construction Company. He was born May 15, 1884 in Russia.
In 1940 Alexander is in Denver, 55, index saying "Varga", with Elizabeth 65 born in Pennsylvania.

Merle Walter Garten married Caroline Pritchard May 22, 1925, recorded in Morgan County, Colorado.
(Merle had been in Wray in 1920, age 16, with parents John 54 and Lydia 44 farming. Frank is 22, Earl 20, Mary 18, Len 14, Ben 12, Maxwell 10, and Blari 7.
Merle's parents John 1865-1955 # 42822234 and Lydia Mabel (Glaser) Garten # 44639430 are buried in Wray.
Carolyne A. Garten 1906-1992 is buried in Littleton # 140296549. She was married in 1930 and 1940 Denver to Merle W. Garten 1903-1980 # 140296524.
1919 Wray "Miss Edith Cannon, teacher of the Happy Valley school north of Wray
was shopping at the county seat last Saturday and while in town called at the Rattler office
and ordered some stationery printed. Miss Cannon formerly lived at Smith Center, Kansas.
Her parents have bought a ranch near Yuma and will move to the same next spring."
She was teaching in Districe # 20 in 1918-1919, - Austin Turman was president, Doris Coston secretary of the school board.
Edith was teaching school in 1920 Yuma County, boarding with the Will WIsdom family.
Roy Benjamin Pritchard registered for WWI in Wray, born May 25, 1896 in Scranton, Pennsylvania, a farm laborer employed by J. B. Cunningham of Way.
R. B. Pritchard married Edith Cannon August 7, 1920, recorded in Yuma County.

Edith Pritchard married Otis L. Ide on December 22, 1921, recorded in Phillips County, Colorado.
His first wife is probably Bertha 1885-1909 buried in Tecumseh, Nebraska, # 80068014.
In 1930 Phillips County, Otis is farming, 44, Edith 29 born in Kansas. Chester is 21, Nebraska, Margaret 7, Elmer 5, and Fern 3 born in Colorado.
Otis Leroy Ide 1882-1936 is buried in Coeur d'Alene Idaho # 52915523. "son of Nahan Ide and Emma Searle."
Edith is in Coeur d'Alene in 1940, widowed, 39, with Margaret 17, Elmer 15, Fern 13, Edna Mae 8, and Grace 6, all born in Colorado.
In September 1961 her mother Bessie came to visit

Margaret # 28826479 is buried in Anchorage "Longtime Alaskan resident Margaret Elaine Newell, 84, died Aug. 19, 2007, at the Anchorage Pioneer Home, after a long, courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis. At her request, there was no service.
Margaret was born Sept. 3, 1922, in Holyoke, Colo., to Otis and Edith Ide. She moved to Alaska in 1953 with her husband, Dallas, and two daughters"

Elmer L. Ide married Anne K. Schneider in Marin County, California Sept 12, 1959, and died August 23, 2011 in Sacramento County. Siblings were Edna Hesler of Portland, Grace Fox of Mohave, AZ, Fern Phay and Margaret Newell.
Chester married Daphne M. West, and is with her mother Alice West in 1940 Kootenai County, Idaho, a truck driver.
They were in Spokane in 1958, and Chester died August 4, 1985 in Seattle.
In 1930 Roy Pritchard is 33, a coal mine worker in Sweetwater County, Wyoming, married to Minnie, 39.
They're in Denver in 1940, Roy 43, and Minnie 49, with Minnie's brother Charles K. Tooley 50 born in Kansas.
(Minnie was in Cloud County, Kansas, in 1900, with parents Rolla M. 34 and Myrtle C. 30, Charles K. 11, Minnie E. 9, Ora 7, and Naomi six months.)
Rolla May Tooley is buried in Miltonvale Cemetery (same one as the Frank Merrill clan), dying in 1904 at age 38, E# 44937967.
Myrtle C. Hubbard 1869-1940 is also in Miltonvale # 26566077. She had married John H. Hubbard of Kentucky a butcher in Cloud County in 1910.
John's first wife Belle had died in 1906, buried in Miltonvale.
Roy B. Pritchard 1896-1961 died in Long Beach, buried in Whittier, California but # 132016066 says his mother was born in England,
Minnie Pritchard 1890-1969 is also buried in Rose Hills # 13201598.
Robert Arthur Pritchard was born January 16, 1901 in Denver to Robert R. Pritchard and Elizabeth Kendrick.
Arthur Pritchard is also in Sweetwater County in 1930, working in a coal mine, 28, with Hannah 20 born in Wyoming.

Rock Springs Miner, Feb 16, 1964 THELMA MAE OVERY Bishop Acie Hymas of the Second Ward LDS Church in Green River officiated at the funeral service for Mrs. William C. Overy, 51, of 149 Evans Street, Green River, who died Friday, Feb. 7, at Sweetwater County Memorial Hospital in Rock Springs. Services were held Tuesday at the Green River L.D.S. Church. Interment was in the family plot in Evanston City Cemetery. A former resident of Superior, Mrs. Overy was born in Elkol, Wyo., Feb. 22, 1913, and had lived in this area 33 years. She is survived by her husband, William C. Overy of Green River; three daughters, Mrs. Jack Edwards, Green River; Lois Louise Overy, Pocatello, Idaho; and Billie Lynn at home; three brothers, Richard S. Dexter, Orem, Utah; Clarence M. Dexter, Ogden; and Ronald F. Dexter, Pocatello, Idaho and one sister, Mrs. Ernest (Irene) Payne of Pocatello. Pallbearers were Arthur Pritchard, William Davis, Melvin Richard and Ronald Dexter and Edward Overy Jr. --- Rock Springs Daily Rocket-Miner, Dec 2, 1978 RONALD PRITCHARD Services for Ronald Arthur Pritchard, 45, of 684 Park Avenue, Rock Springs, were held Saturday, Nov. 25, at the LDS Church with Bishop James Curry conducting. Pallbearers were Stanley Pivik, Edward Fermelia, Wayne Johnson, Wally Johnson, Frank Job, Albert Hornsby and Martin Lew. Honorary pallbearers were Howard Overy, Clifford Overy, George McIntosh, Bob Moses, Louis Barto and Hal Johnson. Military graveside services were conducted by the American Legion Archie Hay Post No. 24, with interment in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Mr. Pritchard died Nov. 21 at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County form a heart attack. He had been ill for the past month. Mr. Pritchard was born in Superior on April 9, 1933, the son of the late Robert Arthur Pritchard and Hanna Overy Pritchard of Rock Springs. He was a graduate of the Superior High School in 1951 and attended Snow College in Ephraim, Utah and was graduated from the University of Wyoming with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1961. A resident of Rock Springs since 1956 he formerly resided in Superior. He was a veteran of the Korean conflict having served with the United States Army and was a business man with Mesa Investments in Rock Springs. Survivors are his mother, Hannah of Rock Springs; three sisters, Mrs. Billy (Annie E.) Phillips, Arlene Pritchard and Alice Burke, all of Rock Springs; several aunts and uncles, four nieces, a nephew and a great-niece. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert. |
