Robert G. Gilliland, Alvin

Robert timber-claimed 120 acres in 2, 4N 44W in 1900. (The BLM index had "Yilliland" at the time the township maps were made.)

Robert E. Gilliland was granted a refund in 1907 for a double assessment on that quland.
Also in 1900, William F. Gilliland timber-claimed a quarter in 34, 5N 44W - a mile north.

William might be the Captain William Franklin Gilliland 1840-1910 buried in Harlan County, Nebraska #38433321.

In 1880 Furnas County, Nebraska, William is farming, 40, with Annis J. 42, Robert E. 11 and Newton G. 4, all born in Indiana.

They're in Furnas County, in 1885, and Annis Jane Blair born April 1838 in Friendship, Ripley County, Indiana, marrying Wiliam Gilliland January 30, 1862 , died July 1896 in Nebraska, moving to Nebraska in 1879, per the R.lL.D.S records.
Annis' brother Richard E. Blair 18401863 is buried in Ripley County.

He's likely the William F. Gilliland in Teller Cpunty, Colorado in 1900, widowed, born April 1840 in Indiana, a miner lodging with Charles W. 28 and Carrie M. 25 Perfeck.

This William Gilliland was in Harlan County in 1910, 68, married three years to Fredericka 48 - second marriage for both, both born in Indiana.


Although there's another Robert Gilliland dying March 4, 1891 in Denver, buried at Riverside, William had a son Robert Emerson Gillilland 1868-1953 buried in San Bernardino County # 148312485.


Robert Emerson Gilliland was born on 11 June 1868 at New Marion, Ripley County, Indiana. Robert Emerson Gilliland appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Shelby township, Ripley County, Indiana, in the household of his parents, William Franklin Gilliland and Annis Jane Blair.
Robert Emerson Gilliland married Margie J. Wilkinson on 29 December 1892 at Clarke County, Iowa. He married Jennie E. Strimple on 10 March 1909 at Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California. Jennie's son Ross Strimple from her first marriage was with them in 1910.
Robert Emerson Gilliland died on 13 May 1953 at San Bernardino County, California, at age 84.

R Emerson was in Riverside California in 1900, widowed born June 1868 in Indiana, a laborerr.

He's farming in Riverside County in 1910, 41, with Janie E. 39 bonr in Ohio. Ronald is 16, born in Nebraska.

Ronald was boarding in 1900 Jasper County, Missouri, living with the Sowers clan.
Ronald registered for WWI in Flint Michigan, a machinist for Mason Motor Company, married. He was born March 10, 1894 at Beaver City, Nebraska.
When he married in Saginaw in 1917, hes said hs mother was Margy Wilkinson.
