January 1900 "Mr. Joe Dewey of Neola, Ia., arrived Tuesvlny for a visit with his sister, Mrs.
C. O. Cheney. "
"Cloyd Cheney caused his parents considerable anxiety Wednesday by breaking loose from his
tether and wandering away. He was finally rounded up with a number of other boys near the mill. "
January 20, 1900 "The family of H. E. Cheney moved into their
new home Wednesday, and last night the neighbors gathered in for
a house warming. A big crowd and a good time was reported."
January 5, 1901 "H . E . Cheney this week stopped his paper
because we called attention to a law he had violated. The item
was published by the stock inspector, and we knew not to whom
it referred. The law is printed in another column, of this issue "
May 4, 1901 Wray "Mr. and Mrs. H.E. Cheney and Cloyd left Thursday evening for a few weeks visit at Clarinda, Iowa and other points.
February 1906 "Bent Fichter, of Red Oak, Iowa, arrived in Wray Wednesday and made a short
visit at the home of Mr. and Mrs. H. E Cheney."
May 18, 1906 "Mrs. H. E. Cheney died at St. Lukes hospital in Denver, last Sunday morning.
The body was shipped direct to Randolhp (sic), Iowa, forinterment, and was accompanied by the
bereaved husband and family, and Mrs. G. B. Forsman, of Palisade, Colorado, a daughter of Mrs.
Cheney, who in accordance with her mother's dying wish, will take care of the infant child. Mrs.
Cheney had been a sufferer from epilepsy for the last three years. The bereaved family has the
sympathy of the entire community."
June 1, 1906 "H. E. Cheney and family arrived from Shenandoah,
Iowa, last Monday, where they had taken the remains of Mrs.
Cheney for interment."
November 29, 1907 "H. E. Cheney ate his Thanksgiving dinner
in McClellan, Iowa, with his mother."
December 1907 "Mrs. Ben Forsman and little sister, Leila,
arrived in Wray Tuesday from Palisade, for a several weeks visit
at the home of her father, H. E. Cheney."
March 1908 "H. E. Cheney returned Wednesday from a several
weeks visit in Iowa. He was accompanied home by 0. C. Cheney,
his brother, and wife, of Carson, Iowa, who will make their
home here."
September 1909 "Mrs. B. F. Miller and little daughter and Mrs. G. W. Hamilton of Carson Iowa arrived Tursday for a visit with their sister Mrs. Osa Cheney."
Mrs. Milton Cheney and sons Milton and Clyde, arrived Tuesday and are visiting Mrs. Cheney's brother-in-laws Ed and Osn Cheney. Mrs. Cheney's home is in Landcaster,
California, but they have been visiting relatives in Red Oak,Iowa."
Sarah Jane "Sary" (Inman) Cheney, dying in Wray, is buried in Pottawattamie County, Iowa "Daughter of Samuel C. and Esther (Bake) Inman."
December 12, 1912 "H. E. Cheney shipped three cars of cattle
to Chicago the first of the week. He accompanied the shipment
and expects to make an extended visit in Iowa and Illinois
before returning home."

In 1940 Sacramento County, California, Olga is 58, divorced born in Ireland, living in Lodi in 1935. She's housekeeper for Eugene Kenefick 39 and his stepfather Michael Donovan 72.

In 1940 San Joaquin County, California, Mildred is a beauty operator 22, married to Fred Laughland 24, Kansas. Her brother ANdrew Cheney 21 is with them, a tractor operator.
Mildred Sadie Cole, 92, of Lodi, CA, passed away on Monday, December 21, 2009. Millie was born Mildred Sadie Cheney on November 8, 1917, in Rey [should be Wray], CO, and moved to Lodi in 1932. Millie was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Cole; and her son, Rodger Cole. She is survived by her son, Daniel Cole of Lodi; her daughter, Linda Cole of Sacramento; five grandchildren: Michael Cole of Arvada, CO, Laura Cole of Lodi, Kelly Seurer of Lakewood, CO, Douglas Cole of Galt, and Craig Cole of Galt; and nine great-grandchildren. Millie was a member and past Nobel Grand of the Woodbridge Rebekah Lodge, and also served as an officer on the board of their Children's Home; a member of the Farm Home Department; a 4-H leader; and a parishioner of the Church of God Seventh Day. In addition to her family, Millie enjoyed working in her vegetable garden, sewing, camping, fishing, traveling, and playing board and card games, especially Pinochle, Cribbage, and BINGO! In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Millie's name to the Loel Center and Gardens, an organization that offers services that help seniors remain independent, healthy, active, and fulfilled in their daily lives. August 6, 2011 A big man, with a bigger heart died tragically following an accident on his farm. In November of 1947, Butch was born on his family's farm, and raised by his parents to work the land, help his friends, and treasure his family. As a young man Butch joined the Army, serving his term in Germany. He returned to home to marry, and farm his land, which he so loved. Butch is preceded in death by parents Malvin and Helen Cheney. He is survived by two sisters Judy Dennett, and Karen A. Queening, wife Kathy Cheney, son Jon-Paul Cheney, and four grandchildren. To honor his memory there will be a gathering on August 6th at 2:00pm. At Thornton Community Hall 26950 N. Sacramento Blvd. Thornton Ca. 95686.
