In 1880 Atchison County, Missouri, Marion Jack is 36, Jennie 26, Terance C. 5, Kenneth 3, and Lena nine months.

In 1900 Marion is farming, born Feb 1844 in Indiana, married 26 years to Jennie Sept 1854 Illinois. Kenneth Feb 1877 and Lena Aug 1879 were born in Illinois, John Feb 1884 and Janet Oct 1892 in Missouri.

Jennie 1854-1948 # 40596726 and Marion 1844-1920 3 40596713 are buried in Atchison County.

In 1900 Nemaha County, Nebraska, Katie Workman born Nov 1886 in Nebraska, is with widowed father William Workman Sept 1858 Illinois. Leota is 15, and Charles 11.


JOHN

The Southwest Nebraska Genealogy data base has John and Katie marrying January 26, 1905 near Langdon, Missouri, but one FamilySearch has them marrying in Nebraska in 1912.
SW Nebraska has Berneita marrying Thomas Ruma, and Oleta marrying Leon Harbour.
John proved up two quarters in section 15, 4N 43W in 1913.
October 1913 "John Jack has put two more rooms to his house."

November 6, 1913 " Mrs. Clifford Harger of Laird spent the latter part of last week with her sister, Mrs. Kate Jack, and other friends in this commutity."

November 1913 "The dance at John Jack's Saturday night was well attended. A splendid supper was served and all went home rejoicing ovar the good time they had had."

January 1914 "Lee Johnson and wife will arrive here next Tuesday from Stella, Nebraska, to visit in the John Jack home. While here, they will probably look up a location and take a homestead."
"Charley Johnson and L. Mitchell are here from Missouri, as the guests of Mr. John Jack. They are looking ; for a location and we would be pleased to have them locale here , for they are good farmers and that is what we need."

April 1914 "John Jack is constructing a reservoir on his place to store water to irrigate his garden. Mr. Jack has built a nice little home on his homestead."

1914 "Mrs. John Jack was quite ill this week, caused by the intensive heat."
He was a witness for the land claim of Patrick Dempsey in 1916 Alvin.

In 1920 Humboldt precinct, Richardson County, Nebraska, John is 34, born in Missouri, with Katie M. 27 in Nebraska. They have Bernita 2 born in Colorado. Katie's father Wiliam Workman 69 widowed born in Illinois is with them.
In 1940 Richardson County, John is 54, Katie 52, with Leota 12 born in Nebraska.

John 1885-1979 is buried in Humboldt # 55003727, with Katie May (Workman) Jack 1887-1967.
Berneita Jack was teaching in the Table Rock, Nebraska schools in 1937.

"FALLS CITY. Neb., Jan. 20, 1939 Announcement was made here of the marriage Saturday at Seneca, Jack, a rural school teacher and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Jack of Humboldt, and Thomas J. Ruma, son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Ruma of Omaha."

In 1940 Richardson County, Nebraska, she's 24, married to Thomas J. Ruma 19 born in Nebraska. They have Jack L. five months.
In 1955 Thomas is working at the Ford factory in Kansas City, with Berneitta N. at 5921 Portland.

November 23, 1962 Atchison, Kansas "Mr. and Mrs. Orbie Histe, route 3, who were married Nov. 21, 1937 at Savannah, Mo., celebrated Their silver wedding anniversary Wednesday. Wednesday evening they were honored guests at a dinner at the home of Mr, and Mrs. Kenneth Hartman and daughter, Pamela, route. 3. Thanksgiving they were honored with a dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Ruma, Kansas City, Mo. Out of town giseSiS for the occasion were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Perdue, and sons of Auburn, Neb.; Mr. and Mrs. Julio Jack, Humbolt, Neb.: Mr. and Mrs. Leon Harbour and family, Stella, Neb.; Mr. and Mrs, Lester Lindley, Belton, Mo.; and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Ruma. The Hisles are parents of a son, Dick, of the home. A daughter, Nancy Lee, is deceased. Mr. Histe and his sister, Mrs. Wallace Moore, Muscotah, celebrated birthdays Wednesday. "

Berneitta is teaching at Muncie Elementary in 1964 Kansas City.
Berneita 1916-1968 is buried in Humboldt # 55003774. So is Mary Kate Ruma 1955-1955. Jack 1939-1995 is buried in Springfield, Missouri.


Thomas 1920-2005 - was a resident of Overland Park, Kansas.

1971 Lincoln, Nebraska "Mr. and Mrs. Leon Harbour announce the engagement of their daughter Kay Loraine to Donald A. Koch, son of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Koch, all of Lincoln. The bride-elect attends the Lincoln School of Commerce. An Oct. 9 wedding is planned."
(Don and Kay's son Jeremy married Shana Lynn Ramel, 1979-2006.
Jessie Leon Harbour is buried in Richardson Coutny # 63309548 "married Oleta Jack on January 4, 1947.
"Passed away December 22, 2010 at Good Samaritan Society, Auburn, NE at the age of 83. Leon is survived by wife Oleta Harbour, Auburn; daughter Jan Mason and husband Mike, Stella; daughter Kay Koch and husband Don, Lincoln; daughter-in-law Pam Harbour,Auburn; 11 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

LEOTA

In 1910 Yuma County, Clifford B. Harger is 30, married five years to Leota 27 Nebraska. Jewel is 3 born in Minnesota, Yuma 1 in Nebraska. They're between her brother James M. Workman 37 Illinois an dhis big family, and her father William 60 Illinois and Charles 18 Nebraska.

Clifford and Leota are in Kersey, Colorado in 1920, with Jewel 13, Yuma 10, Clifford 8, Harry L. 6, Cecil M. 3, and Kenneth 1.

They're in Atchison County, Missouri in 1930, and her father William R. Workman 84 is with them.
Clifford is 50, Leota E. 45, BUrtis 19, Harry L. 17, Cecil M. 13, Kenneth 11, Glorietta 6, Bettw 2.

In 1940 Atchison County, Clifford 60, Leota 56, Gloria 16, Betty 12, and WIlliam 9. Clifford and Leota are buried in Atchison COunty.

"Chester Charles Schierkolk 79, Northglen, Colo., passed away June 25 at a Brighton, Colo hospital. He was born Jan 9, 1907 in Atchison County, the son of Frank and Mary (Bowers) Schierkolk, Chester and his sister Elsie were raised on the farm and attended the New Excelsior School near Langdon. They were baptized in the Langdon Lutheran Church.
On March 17, 1926 Chester was married to Yuma Harger of Rock Port at the Atchison County courthouse in Rock Port. They farmed and raised a family of five children. From 1941 until 1956 they worked on the Harold Luhrs farms south of Rock Port. Chester suffered a stroke in 1956 and had been in poor health since that time.
In 1965 they moved to Colorado to be near their children there. Frank has been a patient in three different nursing homes and several hospitals for the past 28 years.
Surviving are his wife Yuma, Northglen, Colo; daughter Oleta Chew, Denver, Colo; sons: Donald, Rock Port; Frank, Northglen, Colo; Chet, Hampton, NH; and Larry, Norfolk, Va. There are 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother, and his sister, Elsie Kasten.
Services were held June 28, conducted by Rev Linda and Rev Charles Watson. Interment was at Hunter Cemetery. THE ATCHISON COUNTY MAIL, Rock Port, Mo, Jul 3, 1986"
