Elmer R. and Marguerite (Racine) Henderson, Alvin


Elmer Ray Henderson was born June 23, 1887 at Bostwich Nebraska to Charles S. Henderson and Josephine Coin.

In 1900 Nuckolls County, Charles Henderson is 40, Josephine H. 36, Roy Y. 15, Ray E. 12, and Rolla H. 7.

In 1900 Hitchcock County, Nebraska, Marguerite Racine is 9, with Canadian parents Elzear 50 and Rose D. 42. Marie is 18, Angeline 16, Clara 15, Bertha 12, Joseph 11, Louis 7, Eva 5, Amelia 3 and Earnest 1.
Elzear 1850-1939 is buried in Hitchcock County # 70437449, with Rose 1857-1926.

1939 Lincoln, Nebraska "E. Racine, 89. eldest citizen of Trenton, died at his home here. Born in Canada, he came here 55 years ago. His wife died 13 years ago and he had since lived with a daughter, Mrs. Amelia Williamson. Also surviving are a son, Ernest of Trenton, and five other daughters: Mrs. Angie Gillaspie of Torrington, Mrs. Clara Foley of McCook, Mrs. John Roach of Trenton, Mrs. Margaret Henderson and Mrs. Eva Harbaugh of Denver, 63 grand children and 36 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a. m. Tuesday at St. James Catholic church here, Father Curten of McCook officiating" "

Elmer's mother was Josephine (Coin) Henderson 1862-1921.

Elmer proved up two quarters in section 32, 4N 43W in 1919.
He was a witness to the land claim of Marvin Coin in 1919, along with John Conover, James E. Coast and CHester Porter, all of Alvin.

In 1920 Yuma County, Elmer R. is 38, with Margarite 28, Francis C. 11, Josephine E. 10, Ethel L. 9 - these five born in Nebraska, Bessie 5 and Dollie 2 born in COlorado.

In 1930 Fort Morgan, E.R. is 44, doing odd jobs, with Marguerite 40. Ethel is 16, Bessie 13, Dollie 12, Marvin 11, Ray 9, Roland 6, and Rudy 2.

In 1940 Denver, Margaurite is 56, married but no spouse, with Marvin 20, Roy 18, Rolland 14, and Rollie 12. Her sister Eva Harbaugh 48 is with her.

Elmer registered for WWII in 1942 in Denver, working for Hungarian flour mills, nearest relative Alfred Leroy Henderson - both living at 1178 Pennsylvania, Denver. His mailing address was a rural route in Golden. Alfred is his brother.
Alfred Leroy Henderson 1884-1945 is buried in Berthoud Colorado # 33369615.


Marguerite, per one tree, died July 17, 1961 in Denver.

Ethyl K. Henderson married Lawrence Gill on January 2, 1932, recorded in Morgan County.

Rawleigh Coin Henderson, per one tree, 1826-1957 died in Wilshire, England USAF, and that his father Ray died May 27, 1944 in Denver.
Roland J. Henderson, born October 19, 1924, died July 1, 2008, last residence St. Louis, Missouri.
