She married Mr. John Weatherfield and had 6 children. The family settled just seven miles south of Auburn. An account of her death ran in the local paper:
"The family was poor but respectable and were gradually improving their circumstances. The care of a large family and its continual strain on her body and mind to bring up her children to be honest, industrious, and well behaved, so wore upon her nervous forces as to make her irritable and passionate in her temper when they suffered any financial losses. On Friday of last week Mr. and Mrs. Weatherfield had some difficulty with one of the implement men of South Auburn, and this so worked upon the poor woman's mind, that on Saturday she took (rat) poison. Doctors were called and supposed they had taken the poison from her stomach and left her recovering, but at 10 o'clock Saturday evening she grew worse and died within one hour after. All the time they were trying to help her she begged of the doctors and others, to let her alone and let her die in peace and in quietude. Her only regret was in leaving her youngest child. This she wanted her brother Ephraim to take and bring up. She was quietly laid to rest as the sun was setting, in the Bedford burying ground..." Her age at time of passing: 36 years, 11 months, 6 days. Her husband John died two years later."

VERA
1905 "Otto Finn and uncle, E. E. Baron, of Palmyra, Illinois arrived in Wray
Wednesday afternoon. They were accompanied as far as McCook by Mrs. Finn,
who will visit there until Saturday when she will come to Wray to make her home. Mr. Bacon may decide to locate here if he finds a place that suits him."
At a quiet wedding at the Cunningham home last evening, Wednesday, December 17,
1913, Miss Vera Weatherfield became the wife of Otto Finn.
The ceremony was performed in the presence of the immediate relatives of the bride
and groom by A. W. Rice, pastor of the Wray Methodist church. Among those present
were Miss Marie Weatherfield, Miss Minnie Cunningham, Mrs. Gertrude Courtney,
Mrs. Kate Finn, lsaac Reed and family, W. W. Love and family,
John Dalrymple, Mrs. W. B. Fearn of McCook, Nebraska, Mrs. J. B. Castile
and E. E. Bacon of Hettick, Illinois, Mr. and Mrs. Ota Tosh and Dora Christianson.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Weatherfield of New Castle,
Colorado, but for many years residents of this county. She has made her home with her aunts, Miss Cunningham and Mrs. Courtney, the past year while attending the county high school. The groom is the son of Mrs. Kate Finn. Both were born in this county and have lived here practically all their lives. They have a large acquaintance and many friends who are quick to extend congratulations and best wishes, among whom they are recognized as young people. They will make their home in Wray until about March 1st, when they will move out to the Finn homestead northwest of Wray where the groom will engage in farming. Mr. and Mrs. Finn are being entertained today at the home of the groom’s mother in North Wray where the latter is serving an elaborate dinner to the wedding party of last evening.
July 9, 1914 "The funeral of Mrs. Vera Weatherfield Finn was held at the Methodist church in Wray on Monday afternoon. Mrs. Finn died in the sanitarium at Boulder on Sunday morning, July 5th, where she had been taken ten days before.
A large congregation gathered at the church to pay their last respects to whom had been one of Wray’s most popular school girls. Rev. A.W. Rice preached the sermon and a quartette consisting of E. M. Hedrick, Mrs. E. M. Hedrick, Mrs. T. B. Groves and S. S. Dow sang.
The deceased was a member of the Class of 1914 of the Yuma County High School until the close of the first semester of her senior year, when she was united in marriage to Otto Finn. Eight of the twelve members of the class acted as pall bearers and the funeral was largely attended by students of the school. The floral tributes were beautiful. Mrs. Finn had been sick for a number of months and, when her condition became alarming, she was removed to Boulder. Her trouble was an ulcerated stomach. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Weatherfield were called to Boulder and with the husband were with their daughter when she died.
Vera Jaunita Weatherfield was born near Auburn, Nebraska, November 11, 1894. The following March she came to Yuma county with parents and had lived here continuously with the exception of three years when the family lived in Denver. She was the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Weatherfield.
Besides her husband and parents, she leaves two sisters and a brother. She was the granddaughter of Mrs. Rebecca Cunningham.
The disposition of the young lady was such that she was popular with her associates and highly respected by the community. She had high ideals in life and her devotion and thoughtfulness towards her loved ones and friends were marked characteristics. The sympathy of the community goes out to the young husband and the parents of the deceased in their peculiarly sad bereavement.
The grandmother, Mrs. Rebecca Cunningham, came from Casper, Wyoming, and her daughter,Miss Blanche Cunningham, from Denver to attend the .funeral. Mr. and Mrs. Weatherfield accompanied the husband home with the remains.
The Weatherfield children were unable to get here from their home near New Castle, Colorado. Mrs. Dora (Christianson) Scott of Colby, Kansas, a classmate and a close friend of the deceased intended to come for the funeral but was prevented by the high waters and belated trains from the east."
December 1916
"A very pretty and quiet wedding was solemnized Sunday afternoon at 3:30 at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Reed, with Miss Ruth Hix and Otto Finn as the contracting parties.
The rites were read by Rev. A. N. Wolff, pastor of the Presbyterian church,
in the presence of fifteen relatives of the couple, and Miss Jessie Weaver,
the girl chum of the bride. The couple were attended by Miss Weaver and Truman Love,
a nephew of the groom. After the marriage, Mrs. Reed, the hostess and sister of the
groom, served the guests with a dainty two-course luncheon.
Mrs. Finn is the only daughter of G. P. Hix, of Wray, has been her father's
homemaker since the death of her mother several years ago, and she,
like her husband, needs no introduction to our people, for they have both spent
the greater part of their lives in Wray and are known to be young people
of whom any community might be proud. The young couple left on Sunday evening's
train for a few days visit with the groom's sister, Mrs. W. B. Fearn,
and husband, who reside in McCook, Nebraska.
They returned to Wray yesterday afternoon and will make their home on
the groom's farm seventeen miles northwest of Wray. We join with their host of
friends in wishing them a happy future."
