Edgar H. and Maude Spencer, Lansing
J. Keith Miller, 88, went to meet his Lord and Savior on March 24, 2011 with his family gathered around him. Keith was born on April 22, 1922 in Trenton, NE to Frank E. Miller and Anna Mabel (Dent) Miller. He joined two brothers (Lawrence and Harold) and one sister (Alverta). Later, he was joined by three more brothers (Emerson, Bob and Lewis) and one more sister (Beverly). When Keith was six months old, his family moved to Wray, CO. At the age of 16, Keith and his older brother (Harold) went to Parshall, CO to work with an uncle on a ranch. While working on this ranch, Keith met and later married, Priscilla Mae McQueary. They were married on September 10, 1941. On May 7, 1943, Keith and Priscilla were blessed with a daughter, Priscilla Joan Miller. Later that year, Keith was called into the NAVY CB’s. He spent three years in the service. On September 8, 1946, Keith and Priscilla were blessed with a son, David Keith Miller and on November 5, 1947, they were blessed with a second son, Johnny Lee Miller. ln 1962, Keith became a licensed minister and pastored his first church in Steamboat Springs, CO. ln 1977, Keith became an ordained minister and moved with Priscilla to Twin Falls, ID to pastor the Faith Assembly of God. Keith's later years were spent filling in for other ministers and doing some work as an evangelist. He became a chaplain at the hospital and visited many in nursing homes. He was preceded in death by his father (Frank), mother (Anna), two brothers(Emerson and Harold) one sister (Alverta). He is survived by his wife, Priscilla, daughter, Joan, two sons, David and his wife Marie, and John, five grandchildren, Jennifer (Devon) Cruise, Jade (Tahnee) Puckett, Robert Miller , Anna Miller and Priscilla Marie Miller, four great grandchildren, Bryon Cruise, Taylor Cruise, Regan Puckett, and Jaelyn Puckett.) Also, numerous family and friends. There will be a memorial service held on September 10, 2011. Lewis Addison Miller, known by many as Doc Miller or just Doc, passed into spirit on September 17, 2015, at the age of 84 years of a full life. Doc was born in Wray, Colo., on December 10, 1930. He earned his BS and DVM from Colorado State University and served in the United States Army. Upon graduating from Veterinary School, he moved with family to Walnut. He served the farmers of Southwest Iowa for almost 50 years. He loved helping people and their animals, many times not charging for his services. His personal interests included pigeons and growing flowers and plants. He was active in flower clubs and showed pigeons taking his grandsons, Greg and Joe with him, but passing his love of pigeons onto his grandson Joe. He is survived by his children, Patricia Hetrick and her husband, Philip Hetrick, Martha Miller and her wife, Jennifer Miller and Olin Miller and his partner Kelly Lundgren. Doc loved his grandchildren, Joe Hetrick and wife, Amy Hetrick and Greg Hetrick and wife, Sarah Hetrick; as well as his great grandchildren, Bella, Betty, Adelyn and Carter Hetrick. Bella and Adelyn have both talked about becoming veterinarians just like their Grandpa Miller. He is also survived by his brother, Robert Miller and his wife, Meredith; and sister, Beverly Grant. The family is very grateful for the long friendship of Henry and Margie Bibeau. He was loved by many and will be deeply missed in Southwest Iowa and in his hometown of Wray, Colo. Services will be at a later date in Wray, Colorado per his wishes with family and friends. |
