Yuma County Pioneer Photographs:

Frank Forsythe

In 1880 Republic County, Kansas William Forsythe 39 and Clara 31 have Ida, 14, Franklin 12, Albert 8, and Maggie 3.

In 1900 Frank Nov 1867 born in Ohio, and Gussie July 1877,  born in Missouri, are in Nodaway County, Missouri, with Clifford December 1896  and Cleo, Apr 1899, both boys born in Missouri.

They're in Yuma County in 1910, with still the two sons.

1912 Wray "Mr. and Mrs. Frank Forsythe were in from the sandhills, Tuesday, and remained over night with Mrs. Forsythe's mother, Mrs. Sadie Shroyer."

1913 Wray "Frank Forsythe of northwest of town killed a porcupine in his garden Sunday which weighted forty pounds.  This animal is a rarity in this part of the state."

1913 "Frank Forsythe of north of Eckley left Wray last evening for his former home in Stanton, Nebraska, where he was called by the serious illness of his father, William Forsythe."  William H. Forsythe, born Sep 28, 1840 is buried instanton County.

Frank proved up 320 acres in 30 and 31, 3N 45W  and 25, 3N 46W in 1917.  His house must have been in in 3N 46W, because in 1911 he was delinquent on taxes for improvements in that forty acres.

In 1921 they're in the Boulder directory, Frank a laborer, Gussie a laundry worker, living at 1828 9th Street.

In 1930 Frank and Gussie are farming at Niwot, Boulder County, but they told the census taker he was born in Indiana.  He and Gussie have Sadie Shroyer, 73, with them.

All three are in Wellington, Larimer County in 1940, saying they were in Fort Collins in 1935.

Frank E. - Nov 9, 1867 - Feb 12, 1954 and Gussie -1877-1961 are buried in Grandview, Fort Collins.

Clifford Ray registered in Yuma County, saying he was born December 30, 1896 at Skidmore, Missouri, and that his father was born in Frankfort, Indiana.

In 1930 Clifford in in Englewood, Colorado, driving a coal truck, married to Lea, 28, with Robert 10, Maxine 7, and Jerry 6.

Clifford R. Forsythe estate was probated in Larimer County in 1971.

Cleo F. Forsythe married Lillie  Brunick in Boulder April 30, 1921, and they're in Wray in 1930.  Cleo is 30, Lillie M. 25, and they have Eva G. 7, Ida F. 5, James L. 3, Lee Russel 1, and Leo F. Jr. newborn.

Cleo married Rolla T. Miller in Littleton June 29, 1934, and divorced her in Denver in 1937.

In 1940 he's in Denver, a boarder with Albert Reymon, widowed, with daughter Ida 15.  He's a truck driver for a coal company.

A Cleo Forsythe married Monetta Darnold December 28, 1964 in Coos County, Oregon, and there's a Cleo Fra Forsythe Born April 1, 1899 dying Dec 11, 1979 in Douglas County, Oregon, spouse Monett.

Army private serving in both WWI and WWII,  is buried at Roseburg National, Oregon.
