Alba B. Beechley
Alba was born Jun 29, 1877 in Phillips County Kansas to Peter B. Beechley and
Martha Ann Casteele DeWitt Beechley.
He married Rosella Sharletta Lamb March 12, 1903 in Greenwood County, Kansas.
In 1910 Hayes County, Nebraska Alby Beechley is 31, married to Rose 23,
Nebraska. They have Anna M. 4, Kansas, Iva F. 3, and James M. ten months,
both born in Nebraska.
Alba David Beechley registered with an Eckley address, and in 1920 Eckley
they have Anna 13, Ova 12, Lee 11, Leslie 8, Kansas, Callie 7, Nebraska,
Laurence 3, Colorado, and Leola seven months, Colorado.
Alba proved up 240 acres in 32, 3N 45W in 1921, and another 40 acres Stock
next to it, also in 1921.
Lee wrote a nice article for the East Yuma County history, saying the
family moved from north of Eckley "where we had bought the Widow Weeks claim"
to Heartstrong.
The 1937 county directory has A.B Beechley living in 32, 3S 45W.
Iva Fae Beechley, born March 11, 1906 in Hayes Kansas, married William
Cline Dec 24, 1925 in Wray, and died June 18, 1978 in Eckley. Marylin
Clodfelder wrote "I'm the youngest child of William H (Bill) Cline and Iva Faye
(Beechley) Cline and was born in Colorado Jan 1,1949. I have 9 older siblings
that consisted of 3 brothers and 6 older sisters which all have passed away with
the exception of one sister which lives in Texas. My father came from
Mapleton,Iowa--B Oct 1,1904 and my Mom was born and raised in Neb. around Hays
Center March 11,1907 until moving to Colorado."
Iva Faye-March 11, 1907 - June 16, 1978 and William Henry Cline -October 1,
1904 - November 22, 1972 are buried in Eckley.

Patricia E. Portelli, born Dec 21, 1912, died Nov 7, 2004, last address
Wisconsin. Wonder if she's related to Patrice Alice Pruitt Johnson, born
1935 in Yuma to John and Patricia (Portelli) Pruitt...... There was a John
R. Pruitt, 22, in Idalia in 1920, with Randolph widowed. Sisters Ina,
Gertie, Grace Pruitt. In 1930 a Ruby Pruitt is in Denver, married, with
two sons George 21 and Don 13 Rohwer - and in 1940 she's in Denver with John R.
Lawrence R. 5/13/1915- 1/28/2004 and Velma L. 10/26/1918 - 1/6/2004 Beechley
are buried in Wray.

Catherine Bergman wrote in 2000 "I went to school with a Ruth Beechley at
Dewyridge Country school in 1938. She was in the 8th grade then Her
class mate was Bill McCoy. He has passed on in 2000. My Mother Bertha
Weyerman was the Teacher of that school . I don't know what happened to
Ruth. You might contact John McCoy at Idalia Colorado as he lived in that
neighbor hood all his life. I have a picture of Ruth.I hope this might help
you."

In 1930 Callie E. 17, is working for the William Gray family - with three
young kids, in Weld precinct - north of the Alba and Rose claim.
One tree says James was born 1908, married 1933 in St. Francis, Kansas,
and died 1980 in Denver.

Eunice Manson, born 6/27/1937. They live in McCook, Nebraska. They have 2
Children.
Rachel Ann Beechley born on 4/7/1946, married Daniel C. McKinney on
11/1/1964, born on 4/13/1946. They have 3 Children. . They live in Colorado
Springs, Colorado.
Raymond L. Beechley, 68, formerly of Fort Collins, CO, lived in
Green River, WY, passed away on October 2, 2003, in Pinedale, WY. A
funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2003 at 2:00
p.m. at Allnutt Funeral Service, 650 W. Drake Road, Fort Collins,
CO. The Reverend John Engle will officiate. Visitation will be on
Monday, October 6, 2003, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Drake Chapel.
Interment will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens.
Raymond Lee Beechley was born on May 8, 1935, Eckley, CO, the son of
James Lee and Elizabeth Ada Kier Beechley. Raymond had resided in
Fort Collins for 38 years and had resided in Green River, WY since
2002. He attended high school in Idalia, CO. Raymond married Marilyn
Mumm in 1956 in eastern Colorado. She preceded him in death on June
18, 2000. On May 18, 2001, he married Rosalia Cecil in Green River.
Raymond worked for Maxey Truck & Equipment for ten year wiring
trailers. He also worked for Fort Collins Disposal, formerly known
as Donnell Trash Service, for 20 years. Raymond had been a member of
the Fort Collins Moose Lodge for 30 years. He had been an avid
hunter for 23 years, liked to fish and loved the outdoors,
especially the mountains. He also loved to golf and go bowling.
After retirement, he took up woodworking and cut trees for Hersh
Nursery.
Mr. Beechley is survived by his wife, Rosalia “Rose” Beechley of
Green River, WY; his mother, Ada Beechley of Wray, CO; his brothers,
Ron Beechley and his wife Eunice of McCook, NE; his sisters, Rena
Newbanks of Otis, CO and Rachel McKinney and her husband Dan of
Colorado Springs, CO. Also surviving are his daughters, Deena Archer
and her husband Jeff of Fort Collins, CO, Barbara Beechley of Kansas
City, MO, Dianne Jakubauskas of Fort Collins, CO, Sheri Hamilton and
her husband Larry of Green River, WY, Debbie Clark and her husband
Roy of Casa Grande, AZ, Ginger Bryson and her husband Anthony of
Green River, WY and Jackie Woodbury and her husband Tom of Green
River, WY; his son, Charley Cecil and his wife Lori of Green River,
WY; 26 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; and many nieces and
nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lee Beechley, his first
wife, and an infant brother.

They have James 7 and Maxine 2. James Edward Beechley, Col
U.S. Army Korea, born January 4, 1932, died Feb 28, 2001, and is
buried in Fairview, Burlington. One tree said he married
Leta Mae Scott.
1977 James Beechley, Burlington, Colo., has been charged with
violating financial and payment requirements of the Packers and
Stockyards Act, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said Sunday.
Beechley is registered as a market agency to buy livestock, and
as a dealer to buy and sell. He purchases livestock throughout
eastern Colorado and western Kansas. USDA's Packers and
Stockyards Administration charged in an administrative complaint
that in connection with his dealer operations, Beechley has
current liabilities exceeding his current assets; and issued
insufficient funds checks and failed to pay, when due, for more
than $152,000 worth of livestock from Nov. 9, 1976, through Jan.
3, 1977, and still owed $63,904 for livestock as of Jan. 13,
1977. Filing of the complaint does not prove that Beechley
has violated the Packers and Stockyards Act. He has a right to a
hearing to determine if the evidence supports the charges. If
the charges are proven, Beechley would be placed under a cease
and desist order. His registration could also be suspended.
Dealers are required, under the P&S Act, to maintain a solvent
financial position and lo pay promptly for livestock, unless
credit has been arranged in advance.

William Leslie Beechley was born September 29, 1910, and died
during the night, May 21, 1991, while a resident of Cedardale Health
Care Facility, after a long illness. Services were held Saturday,
May 25, 1991, at the First Christian Church with Rev. Keith
Stephenson officiating. Interment followed in Glendale Cemetery,
Vernon.
He was born to Albert and Rose Beechley at Phillipsburg, Kansas.
When Les was a young man of three or so, the family moved north of
Eckley where he attended school in Yuma County until the sixth
grade.
On May 16, 1931, he married Mildred Margarite Riley at the
Presbyterian Church in Eckley. To this union five children were
born.
Les and Mildred spent 51 years together in Yuma County, from south
of Eckley to Kirk, until he retired from farming, around October
1963, when they bought their home in Wray. Les still worked at odd
jobs until his health failed him in 1982. He still had his garden
and yard to fill his time, in which he loved to work.
Les was a hard worker, "honest as the day was long" and treated his
fellowman with great respect, no matter what color his skin was or
what nationality they were, everyone was an equal. He was loved by
everyone, and was a man of few words, so when he had anything to
say, he got right to the point.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Albert and Rose; brother
Lee; sisters, Anna Lamb, Iva Cline, Leola Hill; as well as his wife,
Mildred, who died in 1982; his son Jerry Ray and two granddaughters,
Norma Jean Crawford and Brenda Diane Beechley.
Les is survived by one brother, Lawrence of Wray; two sisters,
Callie Portelli, Oshkosh, Wisconsin and Ruth Engel of Idalia; three
sons, James and wife Janet, Pueblo, Eldon and wife Loretta,
Burlington; Daniel and wife Eligra, Winters, Texas; and one daughter
Maxine and husband Philip Crawford, St. Francis, Kansas; 13
grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. |

Frank Wayne Hill, 66, of Ovid, CO passed away Wednesday
September 7, 2011 in Julesburg, CO. Memorial services will be held
at 5:00 PM, Tuesday September 13, 2011 at the Harvest Baptist Church
in Ovid, CO, with Pastor Mark Baker officiating, with meal to
follow. Inurnment will take place at a later date in the Ovid
Cemetery.
Frank Wayne Hill was born September 30, 1944 in Vernon, Colorado the
son of Robert L. Hill and Leola (Beechley) Hill. He attended schools
in Dailey, Holyoke, and Ovid. Frank worked as a farm hand, also at
D&L Meat Co., and for the town of Ovid. He was a member of the
Harvest Baptist Church. Frank enjoyed playing five point pitch, and
especially loved attending Revere, Sedgwick County, and summer rec.
ballgames. His greatest joy was when the Sedgwick County Cougars
presented him with a hat and jacket for being such a devoted fan.
Frank was also an avid reader; he would read anything that came into
his hands. He had a wealth of knowledge and could even do the Sunday
crossword with a pen. He added a lot of color to many people’s lives
and will be missed by many.
He is survived by a host of friends & his church family at the
Harvest Baptist Church, who he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and numerous brothers, and
sisters. Memorials can be made in Frank’s name to the Harvest
Baptist Church, American Heart Association 415 N. Tejon St. Colorado
Springs, CO 80903 or to the Sedgwick County Nursing Home.
