Horatio W. and Bertha White , Copper Kettle


In 1905 Colorado Springs, Horatio is a stonecutter, rooming at 811 N. El Paso.


Bertha White, 24, a dressmaker, born in England, arrived in Boston on the Ivernia from Liverpool on June 20, 1907.
THIS IS LIKELY A DIFFERENT ONE - WIFE OF ALFRED WHITE, BURIED IN PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND 1883-1962.

Horatio W. and Bertha White married in Denver on March 17, 1908.

In 1910 Colorado Springs, Horatio is a private policeman (probably a watchman), 29, with Bertha 27, married two years, both born in England.

In 1913 Horatio is a stonecutter, with Bertha at 912 E. San Miguel in Colorado Springs.

In 1920 Vernon Precinct, Horatio is a painter, 39, with Bertha 37, both born in England, immigrating in 1907 and 1903, naturalized in 1917. Erma E. 9, Clarence H. 6, Newton E.4, and Lester O. 1 were all born in Colorado.


Bertha is buried in Glendale cemetery 1882-1920 # 79915656.

Horatio proved up two quarters in section 11, 3S 44W in 1923, another 40 acres for Stock in 1923, and a quarter for Stock in 1923 in section 23.

The Yuma County Commissioners allocated small amounts of money for support of his family in 1924 and 1925.

Horatio is widowed in 1930 Boulder County, 49, with Erma 19, Clarence 16, Newton 14, and Lestoer 11.

Horatio White, 55, died March 11, 1936, buried in Green Mountain Cemetery, Boulder # 11114704.

IRMA

"Services for Irma E. White, 73, of 335 I St., Rock Springs Wyoming were conducted Thursday, Dec. 29, 1983 at the First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Roy A. Miller officiated.
Burial was in the Paul J. Wataha Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were Joseph White, Brent Zeller, Rudy Pivic, Alex Clark Jr., Tom Carter and Arlan Ruff.
Miss White died Tuesday, Dec. 27 at the Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County following a ten-day illness.
A longtime resident of Rock Springs, Miss White had been in ill health the past one year. She was born in El Paso County, Colo. on Oct. 12, 1910, the daughter of the late Horatio and Bertha White. She was a graduate of the Boulder Prep School and a graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder having received a BA and an MA degree. Miss White was a retired school teacher and social worker. She was a WAAC Veteran of World War II and was an active volunteer in the meals on wheels program until her illness forced her to retire.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, the Young at Heart Senior Citizens, the Rock Springs Gem and Mineral Club, the University of Colorado Alumni Association and was an active layman in the Rocky Mountain Conference of the Methodist Church.
Survivors include three brothers, Newton, Les and Clarence, all of Denver, several cousins including Mrs. Emily Aden of Thermopolis, (Emily Etta 'Lee' White born Oct 25, 1928, married Robert R. Aden 1954.) several nephews, including Joe White of Denver, and several nieces including Janet Akes of Denver, Colo. and Louise Zeller of Lovell. (Louise, marrying Brent Zeller, was the daughter of Bob and Emily Aden of Thermopolis)
In addition to her parents, Miss White was preceded in death by her uncle, Rev. Edward White, who died on March 30, 1980."


NEWTON
Newton White, 21, married Jean Wise in Denver on June 5, 1937.

In 1940 Denver, Newton is a machine operator, 24, with Enna J. 26, Janet C. 2, and Joyce E. six months.

Newton Edward White registered for WWII in Denver, wife Erma Jean White.

Erma Jean Wise was born April 2, 1914 in Caddo County, Oklahoma to Jessie G. WIse and Carrie J Angelo, named White in 1974., dying Sept 26, 1993.

Newton is buried in Wheat Ridge, Colorado 1915-1985 # 194032736, with Erma G. 'Jean' White 1914-1993 # 1940332713.


Jesse Goldie Wise 1880-1956 died in Colorado Springs, per # 55336489.
Carrie Jane (Angelo) Wise 1881-1953 died in Colorado Springe # 77014278.

In 1959 Mrs. Joyce E. Pettit is a bank clerk, living at 1336 Corona in Denver. Wayne E. (Judy) Pettit is at 1325 Corona Apt 9....

Joyce E. Pettit and Wayne Pettit divorced in Denver on June 14, 1971.

CLARENCE

Clarence H. White and Ruby Hammer married in Eagle County on February 9, 1931. "At the home of Mr . and Mrs . H . S . Dlckerson in Eagle Monday evening , at 8 : 00 oclock , occurred a most happy wedding . . The contracting parties were two of Mint urns fine young people , Miss Ruby Hammer and Mr . Clarence White , and they were united in the holy bonds of wedlock by Rev . C . R . Stockinger , pastor of the local Methodist Episcopal church . The wedding party consisted oi the parents of the bride and groom , Bailey Hammer , Mrs . Mary Buffehr , and younger brothers and sisters of the bride , of Minturn ; and Mr . and Mrs . Harry Dlckerson of Eagle . The groom is employed at Gilman with the Empire Zinc company , and the young people will make their liome in Minturn ."

This is a different one "son of James A. and Myametia White 1909-2000" # 57482372.

LESLIE

Leslie is a laborer in 1940 Denver, 21, lodging with widowed Emma Strampfler and her four daughters.
Leslie O. White was born in Vernon on Nov 13, 1918, died Oct 9, 2004, and is buried in Fort Logan, WWII Army # 36189420.
