DIED.—At Guilford, Wilson county, Kansas, on Friday, August 15th, 1873, Mrs. Marian Akin, wife of Hon. Andrew Akin, aged 61 years. She was buried at Topeka, August 17th, 1873.
Mrs. Akin, in company with her husband, was recently at Augusta on a visit to her son, Eugene L. Akin, Esq., and her many friends were rejoiced to see her familiar face again.
She was in feeble health, and her friends, when they bade her farewell, were afraid they should see her no more. She was a faithful wife, devoted mother and conscientious Christian lady. Society has lost a kind friend and a very valuable member. The sympathies of the whole community are with the relations of the deceased. —Augusta Republican.



Lydia Milliken cash-claimed 160 acres in section 34, 3S 44W in 1891.



Next to her in 1891 were the claims of Richard Ponton and Andrew Aiken in section 34.


"Omaha, April 11, 1898. Andrew Aiken, a prominent pioneer of Kansas, died here today, aged 88."

"Andrew Aiken, a prominent pioneer of Kansas, and once register of the land otlice at Topeka, died at Omaha. Neb., aged Mr. Aiken was very prominent in the early political history of Kansas."

Andrew is buried in Topeka 1810-1898 # 12306413.
