Lizzie Weisgerber, Minnie B. Weisgerber



In 1855 Syracuse, New York, John Weisgerber is 38, Barbary 30, Caroline 9, Mary 4, Catharine 2, and newborn Elizabeth.
In 1860 Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin, John is 43, Barbara 35, Caroline 14, Mary 9, Catharine 7, Elizabeth 5, John 3, and Mina 1.

In 1880 Fond du Lac County, John Weisgerber is a hotel keeper, 62, born in Hesse, daughters Mary 29 New York, Lizzie 25 New York, and Minnie 20 Wisconsin.

John Weisgerber, proprietor of the Mapes House; was born in Hesse-Darmstadt, Germany in 1817, and is the son of John and Mary Weisgerber; was educated in the schools of his native country, and followed farming there till about 26 years old; July 5, 1843, he landed in New York, as an emigrant to America; he continued farm work in New York for two years, then was employed in the salt works of Syracuse, N.Y., for ten years; in 1855 he came to Wisconsin and, for the next two years, was proprieter of a saloon in Sheboygan; thence he removed to Sheboygan Falls and continued the same business for two years longer; in 1859, he went to Berlin, Wis., where he opened a billiard room, but was burned out in January 1860, and lost all he had; he then kept the Arcade House for two years; in 1862, he purchased the Dartford House, at Dartford, Green Lake Co., Wis., of which he was proprietor till 1873; disposing of his property at Dartford at that time, he purchased the Mapes House, in Ripon, Wis., of which he has since been proprietor.

March 15, 1845, he was married to Miss Ann M. Resell, a native of Bavaria; they had three children – Caroline, now the wife of C. F. Schultz, of Fall Creek, Eau Claire Co., Wis.; Herman, who, with his mother, died with the cholera, in 1849; Katie (deceased). In 1849, he was married to Miss Barbara, daughter of Frederick and Barbara Seybold, a native of Germany; the children are as follows: Mary, Katie (now the wife of P. H. Jewson, and lives in Nebraska), Lizzie, Mena. Mrs. Weisgerber died at Dartford, June 3, 1866.

Caroline Catherine Wesgerber married Carl Friedrich Schultz in Ripon on December 10, 1865. Twenty years later the family moved to Dakota territory, and settled in Penn, Ramsey Co., ND. Her husband died on June 23,1907 in Leeds, ND. They had four sons and two daughters: John O. Schultz, H.J. Schultz, Otto Schultz, William A. Schultz, Mrs. Dingman and Mrs. Dimm.

Mary Weisgerber, daughter of John Weisgerber and Barbara Seypold, married Wm. D. Greenway, son of David Greenway and Catharine H. Hunter, in Ripon on September 17, 1885.

Barbara Weisgerber died 1866, # 97742931 is buried in Green Lake, Wisconsin.

John Weisgerber buried in Green Lake, Wisconsin # 97743010 died Feb 1884, age 66 years.

In 1888, when Tom Gist married Annie M. Reavis, daughter of Judge Isham Reavis, in Yuma ARIZONA, Minnie and Lizzie Weisgerber , along with Anna Clegg, Mary Maddox, Joe Newkirk, Ralph Kerr, Frank Oversole, Clark Shelly, E. Falloon, Grace Kleis and Wm Manger gave a divan as a wedding present.

Minnie and Lizzie each cash-claimed a quarter in 18, 3N 48W in 1890.
Lizzie Musselman, formerly Lizzie Weisgerber timber-claimed a quarter in 21, 5N 49W in 1894.


MINNIE
Minnie B. Ashmore, formerly Minnie Weisgerber, timber-claimed one in 28, 5N 48W in 1894.

(Wonder if that's the Warren D. Ashmore who claimed land in 8N 49W about the same time - he was single in 1930 Tacoma Wshington, born about 1864 in Wisconsin, a real estate dealer. He's with a sister Ruby Ashmore in 1940 Nebraska, and is buried in Fillmore County, Nebraska, # 120180105.)
There's a "Mrs. Jennings" in 1900 Chicago, born November 1859 in Wisconsin, parents in Vermont, who's with railway clerk F.L Jennings born Nov 1869 in Michigan.
They've been married 12 years.

Minnie Weisgerber Jennings, 1859-1954 is buried in Green Lake # 97669939.
LIZZIE
In 1900 Kansas City, Missouri, Frank Musselman is a solicitor for a publishing company, born Aptil 1852 in Pennsylvania, married 11 years to Lizzie Feb 1860 New York, have John C. Nov 1890 Colorado.

In 1910 Kansas City, "France" and Elizabeth have John C. 19, a bank clerk.

John Christian Musselman registered for WWI in Kansas City, born November 28, 1890 at Denver, an accountant, married.

In 1920 Kansas City, Elizabeth is 59, widowed, living with John and his wife Nellie 28. John Jr. is 2.

Elizabeth Mussellman is living alone in 1940 Kansas City, 80.
The tombstone in Springfield Missouri has a birth year of 1855....dying 1952, # 44233099.


John is buried in Springfield, Missouri, # 44233131, 1890-1963.
