Thomas G. Walker



Thomas cash-claimed a quarter in 5, 3N 48W in 1890, near a number of 1890-1891 claims.

Possibly related to John Walker of 5N 46W.
ONE POSSIBLE

In 1880 Fillmore County, Nebraska, Thomas G. Walker is 18, with parents Thomas H. 67 and Lavina 64. William is 30, and Hiram is 23.

June 15, 1901, Mrs. Lovina Walker, aged 85 years, 5 months and 15 days. Lovina Saylor was born in Juniata county, Pennsylvania, January 1, 1816. She was married to Thomas Walker in 1837. To them were born nine children, six boys and three girls, all of whom survive her except two sons. Those living are Jesse, William and Hiram, who reside here in Nebraska, and who were present at the funeral, and T. G. Walker of Denver, Col., Mrs. Bainter of Walla Walla, Wash., and Mrs. G. H. Sager and Mrs. Jane Lewis, who reside in Pennsylvania. Mrs. Walker with her husband moved from Juniata county to Mifflin county in 1862, where they were engaged in farming until the spring of 1868, when they moved to Odell, Livingston county, Illinois, where they resided till the spring of 1876, when they moved to Nebraska, settling on the northwest quarter of section 5, town 6, range 3, Fillmore county, where they continued to live until her husband died January 25, 1884. After this she made her home with her son, Jesse W. Walker, with whom she had lived ever since.

In 1885 Fillmore County, Nebraska, Jesse is married, with eight kids. Next household is T. G. 24 and his wife Flora 25, with Lusile seven months. Lovina is living with them, age 67, widowed.

In 1900 Denver, Thomas G. Walker is a carpenter, born July 1860 in Pennsylvania, married 16 years to Flora March 1860 Kansas. Leslie Nov 1884 and Walter T. Oct 1887 in Nebraska, and Eva L. Feb 1891, Hazel L., May 1895,.and Addie March 1900 born in Colorado.

In 1910 Oakland, California, Thomas is a builder, 49, Flora 50,with Hazel 14 and Abbie 13.
In 1920 Oakland, Thomas and Flora have only Addie Silva, 19, and her 1=-year-old Ralph.

Eva married Fred Paige, and they're in Oakland in 1920, with son F. Dalworth Walker, 8.
Hazel married Ellis R. Anderson, and they're in Oakland in 1920, wtih Kenneth 2 and Lloyd 1. They're still there in 1930, with more kids.


Leslie A. Walker, born at Geneava Nebraska to Thomas G. and Flora Walker, married Bertha Berg born in Norway, on Sept 28, 1909 in Park County, Montana. He was 25, she was 21.
ANOTHER POSSIBLE
There's a Thomas G. Walker in 1900 Polk County, Iowa, a coal miner born in Colorado in 1863. Martha was born Dec 1869 in Illinois, with three children all living. Bessie M. Jan 1889, Edith April 1890, and Paul R. May 1892, all born in Iowa.

In 1910 Polk County, Thomas is a laborer, with Mattie 40, Edith 19, Paul R. 18, Glendon R. 7, and Gladis R. 7. One child has died - so that would be Bessie.

He might be the Thomas G. Walker 1863-1911 buried in Des Moines, # 151364552.


Martha S. Walker, age 48, living in Clarion Iowa, daughter of Benjamin Jeffries and Anna Martin, married a second time in October 1917 to George E. Burt of Webseter City, Iowa. It was his second marriage, too.

In 1920 Wright County, Iowa, Edwin Burt is 38, Mattie 49, Merle Burt 14, Glenn Walker 18, and Eads Walker 18.


In 1920 Wright County, Iowa (Clarion), Edith is married to Ralph H. Wright, both 28. Brother Glenn Walker, 17 is lviing with them.

ANOTHER POSSIBLE

Thomas Walker is an expressman in 1890's Leadville, Colorado, so he would be able to travel to Yuma to complete his claim.
