David Hanlon



David cash-claimed a quarter in 27, 3N 48W in 1889, near a number of other 1890-1891 cash claimants. In 1895 he timber-claimed a quarter in 4N 48W, section 29.

He could be the David Hanlen in 1860 Peoria County, Illinois, with Patrick 59 and Catharien 40 Hanlen. Catherine is 14, Ann 12, Margaret 10, David 8, and Ellen 2.

In 1870 Peoria County, Patrick Hanlon is 70, Catharine 50, Ann 22, Margaret 19, David 17, and ELlen 11.

In 1880 Peoria County, David is 25, Eliza 21, with mother Catharien 58.
In 1885 Clay County, Nebraska, David is 30, Elida 26, Emma 4, Joseph 3, and Richar ten months.
Next household is Charles and Maggie Timberlake, wtih Annie 3.
Charles claimed land in 6N 46W in 1890 and 1894 - Phillips County, was Phillips County school superintendent, a banker in Sterling, and a U.S. Congressman. So he probably encouraged David to claim land in Colorado.

In 1900 Clay County, Nebaska, David is farming, born Mach 1855 , married 20 years to Eliza May 1859, both Illinois. Emma 19, Joseph 17 were born in Ilinois, Richard 15, Walter 13, Grace 12, and Leo 10 born in Nebraska.
One tree has him dying December 11, 1935, buried in an unmarked garave in Clay County, Nebraska # 87692280.

In 1910 Clay County, David 58 and Eliza 57 have Richard 25, Wallis 23, Grace 22, and Leo 19.
February 12, 1913

In 1913 Hannah Hanlon was delinquent on taxes for the 3N 48W quarter.

In 1920 Clay County David is 60, now married to Amelia 57, both born in IIllinois.

In 1930 Clay County, David is 77, boarding wtih John 51 and Mary E. 48 Paul. (This is Emma Hanlon Paul_
