Cornelius W. D. and Mary Elizabeth (Stafford) Ferrel



In 1870 Henry County, Ohio, "Charles" is 11, born in Iowa, with parents Thomas H. 1832-1893 and Rebecca Ann Hardin 1836-1901.
In 1880 "William" is 18. and in 1885 "Cornelius" is 23, single.

Cornelius cash-claimed a quarter in 23, 3N 48W in 1890, near a number of other 1890-1891 cash claimants.

In 1900 Henry County, Iowa, William D. born Oct 1861 in Iowa, married ten years to Mary E. Aept 1866 Iowa, have Frank Dec 1889 Colorado and Viola Nov 1891 Iowa.
So they didn't linger long in Yuma County.
In 1910 Wharton County, Texas, Cornelius is farming, 48, Mary E. 45, with Viola 19.

In 1920 Wharton County, Cornelius and Mary are farming, with a boarder, a farm laborer, Esk Causey, 23 born in Texas.
In 1926 Houston, W.D. is a ranchman, with Mary E. living at 3211 Milam.

Cornelius William Douglas Ferrell was born October 10, 1861 in Iowa, and died January 27, 1928 in Bellaire, Texas. He was to be buried in Forest Park Cemetery. F.D. Ferrell of 1711 W. Main St was the informant.

In 1930 Houston, Mary Farrell is 65, widowed, born in Iowa, with widowed daughter "Lola" Thomas born in Iowa.
Mary Elizabeth Ferrell died Death Event Date 22 Jul 1938 Houston, Texas Widow of Cornelius Ferrell, Born 01 Sep 1864 at Henry County, Iowa to Gideon Stafford and Adeline Hale. She was to be buried in Forest Park. Informant was Mrs. Lola F. Thomas of 3504 Chenevert, Houston.



FRANK
Frank Dorwin Ferrell registered for WWI in Houston, born Nov 7, 1888 in Colorado, a teller for the Lumberman's National Bank, with a wife and two children.
Frank Darwin Ferrell born November 7, 1888, died June 15, 1978. Mother's maiden name was Elizabeth Stafford. Grandson Dr. Wilson Fraser was the informant.
(REBECCA MEYER BROWN - born July 15, 1914 passed away Monday, September 3, 2001. She was a native Houstonian born to Leota Guenard and George B. Meyer. She attended Kinkaid, St. Agnes Academy and Rice Institute. She was married to Joseph Mellinger Brown for 52 years until his death in 1985. She was preceded in death by her sister, Leota Meyer Hess and stepbrother, Dr. Wilson Fraser.)

He must have been doing well, - in 1940 he's a vice president, and he and Mabel have a maid.
Mabel A. Farrell 1886-1972 is buried in Forest Park, per # 122100171.

When Frank registered for WWII he said he was born at Yuma Colorado.
He was to be buried in Abbey Mausoleum Forest Park Lawndale.

In 1920 Houston, Frank D. is a bank teller, 31, Mabel 34, with her two daughters, Lorine 17 and Alverna 14 Buchanan, both born in Virginia.

Lola Ferrell Thomas, born Nov 16, 1890 at New London, Iowa, died June 1, 1974 in Houston.

Cornelius, Mary, their two children Viola Lola and Frank, and Frank's wife Mabel are all buried in FOrest Park.
