This community was saddened Monday, upon learning of the death of Levi Coblentz. Mr. Coblentz had been ill about four weeks and was thought to be improving, but as he was subject to heart trouble, he succumbed to his illness and passed away Monday. He was born in the state of Ohio, in the year 1844, and was married to Miss Marie Schilling in 1864, and they resided for a number of years in Alleghany City, Pennsylvania, moving to Nebraska in 1880. In the year 1890 they moved to the state of Colorado and have been residents of Brush since November 5, 1897. Had Mr. Coblentz lived until October 1st, he would have been 61 years of age. He was mayor of Brush for one term, and later served as trustee, filling both positions with credit and honor. Mr. and Mrs. Coblentz are beloved by all who knew them. He is survived by his widow and two sons, C.E. Coblentz of Hastings, Nebraska and H.L. Coblentz of Colorado Springs. Funeral services were held in the Presbyterian Church, Wednesday morning, Rev. Hillman of the M.E. Church conducting the services and the remains laid to rest in the Brush Cemetery. Levi is buried in Brush, Marie 1838-1931 in Hastings, Nebraska # 85815107. In 1910 Hastings, Nebraska, Chancie is a carpenter, 44, Harriete 44, with adopted daughter Gladys 10 Nebraska. Chancie's mother Maria S. 71 is with them. She's had three kids, two living. Harriet's father George Isabell 76 born in England is with them. In 1920 Hastings, "Carl" is 54, Harriett 51, and "Anna" 81. He's still a carpenter in 1930 Hastings, and Susannah 91 is still with them. |
June 21, 1971 Colorado Springs "Mrs. Hazel M. Henderson of 19 E. St. Vrain St., a native of Colorado Springs, died Sunday in a local nursing home. Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Law Mortuary, with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Robert Hoffman as celebrant. Mass will be read at 9 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with Msgr. Hoffman as celebrant. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Mrs. Henderson was born here on July 23, 1899. She was affiliated with St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Surviving are a brother, Elmer Coblentz; two nephews, Donald Coblentz and Alvin Coblentz; and one niece, Miss June Coblentz, all of Colorado Springs. " Hazel M. Coblentz, age 28, amrried Lewis C. Henderson, age 28, in El Paso County November 21, 1927. The ceremony was performed byJustice of the Peace J.H. Schisler. |
