If only for a deserted soddy which they located, they would have perished. Mother and we five children were at home and the storm lasted three days. "
"Later Mrs. M. O'Sullivan kept the Post Office a short time; then Mrs. David Eastwood was officially appointed postmistress of Marion, later the township.

In 1940 Los Angeles, Ephrem is widowed, living with son Paul 47 and Alic 39 and thei five kids all born in California.
Ephrem, born March 11, 1866 in Canada, died May 16, 1941 in Los Angeles, mother name Poulin.

1896 McCook "Miss Alice Benjamin returns to Benkelman, today."
In 1899 Alice was in the fourth grade at McCook.
1910 McCook "Miss Alice Benjamin attended the district teachers meeting in Alma close of last week and briefly visited Oxford friends enroute home."
1911 McCook "Mrs. O. E. Walker nee Alice Benjamin returned to her home in Wauneta Monday morning "
1911 "Mrs. E. Benjamin went up to Wauneta, Tuesdday, on a brief visit to her daughter, Mrs. O.E. Walker, returning home, this afternoon."
In 1920 Wauneta, Chase County, Nebraska, Alice is 30, married to Otto Walker, 33, running a geneal store.
In 1930 Wauneta, Otto is an automobile salesman, and they have Mary 9 and Roger 6.

"Mary Margaret O'Brien, age 92, passed away at the Golden Living Center in Cozad on Wednesday, July 17, 2013.
Mary was born in Wauneta, Nebraska, on Jan. 16, 1921, to Otto and Alice (Benjamin) Walker.
Mary graduated from Wauneta High School in 1938.
She married James E. O'Brien, Jr. on Sept. 10, 1938, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in McCook. To this union were born three sons and a daughter.
James and Mary lived on the family farm south of Imperial until 1946, when they moved to Benkelman where Mary worked as a retail clerk and later for Dr.'s Stout and Lopez.

Paul Ephem Benjamin was born July 7, 1892 at McCook, and registered for WWI in Denver, an accountant, single.
In 1940 Los Angeles, Paul is 47, salesman, with Alice3 39 born in North Dakota a schoolteacher. Rita is 18, Aimee 16, Barbara 15, Florence 12, and Paul , Jr. 5, all born in California. Ephrem is 72 is widowed.
Paul died June 30, 1958 in San Bernardino, mother's name Eastwood.
MAURICE
Maurice registered for WWI in Denver - same addressa at Paul - born June 9, 1894 at McCook.
One tree said Maurice died March 18, 1922 in Adams County, Colorado.
SouthWest Nebraska Genealogy has him buried at Riverton, Nebraska.
FLORENCE
In 1920 Sister Mary Clare Benjamin is a student in a convent in Springfield, Kentucky,.
In 1930 Greeley County, Nebraska, Florence is 33, one of eleven sisters teaching at Sacred Heart school.
She's in Watertown, Massachusetts in 1940, at St. Patick's Convent.
In 1950, when arriving at New York from Le Havre, she was living at Memphis, Tennessee
