Carl P. Aspengren



Carl, a minor, was naturalized in the DeKalb County circuit cort, Illinois on October 28, 1884, born in Sweden.

Carl Aspergren cash-claimed a quarter in 5, 3N 48W in 1891, near a number of other cash claims of that year.
In 1900 Dekalb County, Illinois, Carl born Aug 1854, married 26 years to Olive L. Apr 1851 Sweden, have John A. B. Sept 1878 in New York, Edward February 1881 Pennsylvania, WSalter July 1884 Illinois, Lydia Dec 1886 Illinois, Jennie June 1889 COlorado, and Fred May 1891 Colorado.

In 1910 Van Buren County, Michigan, Carl is 57, farming, Olive 59, John A. 32, and Aaron F. 19.

In 1920 Van Buren County, Carl P. is 66, Louise O. 68 both born in Sweden, with Joh nA. 42, Fred A. 28, and grandson Chester 12. - John is possibly divorced.

In 1930 Carl is 76, widowed, with John 51, and Fred 38.

Carl Peter Aspengren 1853-1940 is buried in Berrien County, # 127795267, with Olivia Louise 1851-1910.
Carl died in Berrien County August 27, 1940 "farm resident for 37 years on his 80-acre property north of Watervliet and for 15 years operator there with his son of a gladioli farm and nursery, native of Sweden and a lifelong Republican after coming to this country at the age of 17."

Jennie Carlson 1889-1955 is buried in Berrien County, Michigan # 127844285.
She was born at Yuma June 9, 1889, and died at Benton Harborn Oct 2, 1955, divorced. Father was Cal, mother Olivia Benson, and sspouse was Alfred L. Carlson.

Jennie Aspengren married Bert C. Case in Berrien County August 22, 1907.
She married Earl Buttery in Detroit June 16, 1912.
She married Coda D. Doolittle in 1941, divorced him in 1944.

Frederick A. Aspergren registered for WWI in Covert, Michigan, saying he was born May 12, 1891 at Denver, farming fo his father.
He's buried in Berrien County 1891-1959 # 38081554, with Florence 1901-1992.
"Frederick Aaron Aspengren, 68, of route 1, Covert, died Sunday afternoon in Lake View Community hospital, Paw Paw, where he hud been a patient for several days. He was born May 12, 1891, in Denver, Colo., the son of Carl and Olive Aspengren. He and his wife, Florence, operated Aspengren's Nursery on the Toquin road south of Covert. Besides his wife, survivors include two brothers, August, of Columa and Walter, of Watervliet. a sister. Mrs. Lydia Anderson, of Hockford."


Walter 1884-1972 is buried in Berrien County # 127795389, with Grace (Wigent) Aspengren 1889-1972.

Walter Aspengren married Julia Fay in Berrien County August 5, 1906.

John Aspengren died in Van Buren County April 9, 1937, Charles P August 27, 1940,a nd Mary August 6, 1944.
