Yuma County Pioneers -

Albert H. Turnald

, 3 North 44 West
Albert cash-claimed a quarter in section 6, 3 North 44 West, in 1891.

Possibly the H.A. Turnald, a postmaster in 1883 in Allentown, Allegany County, New York.

In 1900 A. Turnald received some funds for employment at the Colorado state prison.

Arriving from Hamburg in New York on the Thuringa on December 28, 1873 was A. Tornald, 22, a merchant.

The BLM data base doesn't have an image of the land patent, so it is possible that it's a misspelling.

Albert L. Tornell, from Sweden, married in Boone County, Iowa in 1876, and was there in 1880. In 1900 he's a preacher in Marshall County, Minnesota, born January 1850 in Sweden, married 24 years to Helena July 1857 Sweden. They have five kids born in Ioa, and two born in Minnesota, but it is possible that he procured the cash claim.

Helena died in 1906, and he moved to Saskatchewan, living there in 1921, and in 1930 is back in Minneapolis, 80, now married to Ida C. 63.

The Reverend Albert L. Tornell died October 2, 1932 in Hennepin County, Minnesota.

IF ANYONE HAS INFORMATION ON THE YUMA COUNTY TURNALD, PLEASE LET US KNOW.
