Thomas S. Wisdom and Martha E. Gant had Gussie Wisdom on October 22, 1882 in Centralia, Missouri, later marrying a Fagg.

and will make their home in Yuma county, having rented John Wisdom's
farm west of town. Mrs. Pickett is a sister of Mrs. Wisdom."

July 1914 "Thomas Wisdom of Centralia, Mo., is expected the first of next week
for a visit with his sons, John and Joe Wisdom, and his daughter, Mrs. H. J. Pickett,
and their families."
December 1916 "Mr. and Mrs. Homer Pickett will leave today for their former
home in Missouri to spend Christmas. Mr. Pickett's father is not well this winter,
and they make the trip particularly at this time to pay him a visit."

In 1930 Monroe County, Missouri, Homer is farming 50, with Maud 44, and Carl 16.
Maude is divorced in 1940 Audrain County, a practical nurse, living alone.
1951 Mexico, Missouri "Mr. and Mrs. Homer Pickett of Mexico were the Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ute Fagg."

March 1952 "Mrs. Ada Allen was honored on her Toth birthday Saturday evening
when her daughter, Mrs. Nellie Willingham entertained a few friends
and relatives at her home. Those attending the party were Mr. and Mrs. Everett Hall
and children. Mr. and Mrs. Estil Mundy, Mr. and Mrs. Lester McFarling,
Mr. and Mrs. Chester Allen, Mr. and Mrs. Homer Pickett and Stokley Savior of Mexico
and Mrs. Mary Davidson of Ladonia. The evening was spent in playing bingo with the winners receiving awards."
Maudie Lee (Wisdom) Pickett 1885-1974 # 123332957 is buried in
Elmwood Cemetery, Mexico, Misouri.
July 8, 1974 Mexico, Missouri "Mrs. Maudie Lee Pickett, 89, Mexico,
died Monday at 2:45 a.m. at the Audrain Medical Center where she had been a
patient since May 18. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the
Arnold Funeral Home with the Rev. Marvin Jones of Friendship Baptist Church
officiating and the Rev. George Wraith of the First Christian Church assisting.
Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery. Born in Audrain County on Apr. 10,1885,
the former Miss Maudie Lee Wisdom was the daughter of Thomas S. and Martha E. Gant Wisdom.
On Feb. 11, 1903, she was married to Homer J. Pickett in Centralia.
He died on Apr. 6, 1967.
Mrs. Pickett lived most of her life in Audrain County and was a member of
the Christian Church. In Centralia she was a member of the O.E.S., chapter 195.
Survivors are one son, Carl J. Pickett of Mexico; one daughter,
Mrs. Chester Allen of Mexico; and one sister, Mrs. Ute Fagg of Centralia.
One son, and several brothers and sisters preceded her in death.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Arnold Funeral Home."

April 6, 1967 " Homer Pickett, 87, of 216 E.Jackson St., died at 3:15 am.
today at the Audrain Hospital ... became ill last week and was taken to the hospital.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Arnold funeral home.
Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Born in Audrain County April 16. 1879,
Mr. Pickett was Joseph C. and Mary Palmer Pickett. On February 11, 1903. he was
married to Maude Lee Wisdom, who survives. Surviving with his wife are son,
Carl Pickett of Los Angeles, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Chester Allen of Mexico; a grandson and a great grand son.
Three brothers, a sister and a son preceded him in death."

Octobr 1, 1930 Mexico, Missouri "Alfred Ellis, who was dangerously injured Saturday about midnight when he was mysteriously shot near the heart, was still in an unconscious condition at the Audrain County hospital in
Mexico late yesterday, according to reports received from Paris.
Physicians attending him are now holding out great hopes for his recovery, though.
It is reported that Ellis regains consciousness for a minute or so once in a while,
and that Wednesday afternon he asked for his mother, who was permitted to see him
for a few moments at that time. At another time it is said that he told his brother
that he knew the guilty parties, but was not ready to tell who they were.
The injured man has a severe bruise on his head, it is reported,
and it is thought that this bruise may be the explanation for his failure
to regain consciousness. On account of his condition it has been impossible
to remove the bullet from his body. He still remains extremely delirious
and it has been necessary to place him in a fourth straight jacket.
He has worn out and struggled from three of these. Authorities are still
working on the case in the hopes of uncovering some definite information
concerning what actually took place. Carl Pickett, former Mexico youth who now
lives about four miles southwest of Paris, was questioned Tuesday as to
his whereabouts Saturday night, and then released, at least temporarily.
Pickett is said to have stated that he had left Mexico at about 11 o'clock the
night of the shooting with three other Mexico boys,
but he would not reveal the names of these three boys.
So far authorities have not yet been able to secure any information as to who
these three were."
