Lucille Isabelle Lafayette, 86, of Dallas died Thursday, Nov. 10, 2005, at the Dallas Retirement Center. She was born in Wray, Colorado May 31, 1919, the daughter of Orville and Vera Lott Noffsinger. She moved to Ladvele, Colo., and married Joe Coffey. They had a son, Jim. She moved to Lebanon in 1942. In 1954, she married Erman J. Lafayette and they were married 23 years before they divorced. They had two sons, Julian and Mark. She worked for Scoville Real Estate from 1964 to 1969 in Brownsville and then got her own real estate license in the early 1970s. They moved to the Holley area of Sweet Home in 1976, where they owned a farm. Lucille’s brother, Lloyd, was a real estate broker and they worked together as partners for many years. She did tax consulting for many years while she was a real estate broker. Her son, Julian, took over the farm in 1990 and Lucille continued to help with the books. She stayed with Julian two days a week in Rickreall until 1997. In 1997, she moved to Dallas and retired in 1998. She was a member of the Sweet Home and Dallas Christian Missionary Alliance Churches. She enjoyed accounting, tax consulting, yard and garden work and being with her grandchildren. She is survived by sons Julian Lafayette of Rickreall and Mark Lafayette of Madras; sister Josey Homedew of North Bend; six grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by son Jim Coffey in 2004; a granddaughter in 2001, and siblings Cordelia (Corky) Walker, Ruby Marlene Swanson, Opal Bowes, Lloyd E. Noffsinger, Harold Orval Noffsinger, H. Lavern (Phil) Noffsinger and Bernice A. Laux. Viewing will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Dallas Mortuary Tribute Center. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Crawfordsville Community Church. Vault interment will follow at the Lebanon IOOF Cemetery. |
Kathyrn Marie Nunn, King, Phillips, 58, passed away on June 28, 2010 at her home in Yuma, Ariz. after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Kathy was born April 24, 1952 in Grand Junction, Colorado. She was the second daughter of Hazel and Claty Nunn. The family made their home in Wray, CO. for the first few years of Kathy's life. She spent her youth in Colorado and Idaho and graduated from Borah High School in Boise, ID. in 1970. She attended Link's School of Business and Boise State University, both in Boise, ID., graduating with degrees in Computer and Information Sciences and Business. She was a member and past president of the Association for records Managers and Administrators. Kathy married Danny E. King in 1971. The couple later divorced and Kathy continued living in the Boise area while employed at Associated Foods, Ore-Ida and the J.R. Simplot Corporation. In the mid 1980's Kathy moved to Hailey, ID. and worked for Power Engineers. After leaving Power Engineers, Kathy began her career with the court system. In 1999 she reconnected with Jim Phillips, a former co-worker from her days at Power Engineers. The friendship quickly blossomed to a romance and they were married in Hailey, ID. on April 22, 2000. She and Jim had 10 wonderful, adventurous years living and traveling in Washington and Arizona. In 2009, Jim retired and they decided to make Arizona their home. They moved to Yuma and Kathy took a job with Yuma County as a Clerk of the Court where she was employed at the time of her death. Kathy is survived by her husband, Jim; a step-daughter, Jackie Phillips of Portland, OR.; a sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Wayne Ellis of Boise, ID.; father and mother-in-law, Al and Jodee Phillips of Calimesa, CA.; brother-in-law, Gordon Phillips of Redlands, CA.; sister and brother-in-law, Tina (Phillips) and Don Gladden of Swansee, IL.; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Hazel and Claty Nunn. She will be greatly missed by her loving husband, Jim, her family and her many friends. She will be remembered for her love of music and her beautiful voice, her fun-loving spirit, her cheerful smile and her kind and compassionate heart. |
