Robert A. Noffsinger died in Nodaway County November 25, 1871 # 105680555. "Son of William C. Noffsinger and Mary Bagby Noffsinger. age 5 years 2 mo. 10 days"
John W. Noffsinger died October 23, 1873 in Nodaway County # 105680616. John W. was the son of William C. Noffsinger and Mary Bagby Noffsinger. Age 2 years 2 mo. 29 days.


Mary T. Wheeler is in St. Clair County, Missouri in 1900, born March 1846 in Kentucky, married 24 years to Jasper Wheeler 53, also born in Kentucky. So they married about 1876.

Mary Theresa (Bagby) (Noffsinger) Wheeler 1845-1929 is buried in Clay Couty, Missouri # 46o201556.

In 1900 St. Clair County, Missouri, James W. is farming, born Dec 1863 in Missouri, married twelve years to Lillie May 1864 Indiana. Maud M. Oct 1889, William D. Sept 1889, Charles B. March 1891, Mary S. Dec 1892, Clara R. June 1894, Willis R. Oct 1897, Tony E. May 1888, and Martha March 1900, all born in Missouri, except Mary in Kansas.

James proved up 320 acres in sections 10 and 15, 1 North 44 West, in 1911.

March 16, 1916 "Robert Price, for many years a resident of northwest of Wray, traded his farm to a party near Mountain View, Mo. and is expecting to leave for that place in about two weeks, in company with the J. W. Noffsinger family, who are also moving to that vicinity. We hope that these two families, like the majority of those who leave Yuma county, will return in a few months."

James W. Noffsinger, a well known farmer north of Wray [Colorado], died Wednesday, Sept 26, at the age of 59 years, 9 months and 21 days. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in this city, Saturday, Sept 29, conducted by Rev J.C. Strubel of the Presbyterian church. Burial took place in Grandview cemetery.
James Noffsinger was born in Nodaway county, Missouri, Dec 5, 1863. On Jan 18, 1888, he was united in marriage to Miss Lillie M. Thompson, and to this union 12 children were born. One daughter, Mrs Jack Rice, preceded her father in death.
Mr Noffsinger and family came to Yuma county [Colorado] in the spring of 1908 and have lived here since that time.
He leaves to mourn his departure a wife and 11 children, his mother, Mrs Mary Wheeler, of Liberty, Mo., one sister, Mrs C.C. McGinnis of near Wray, two half-brothers, C.W. Noffsinger of Wray and B.F. Wheeler of Liberty, Mo., one half-sister, Mrs Tom Orr of Collins, Mo., and many other less near relatives. The children are: Mrs Frank Donavan of Harrisburg, Ore., Mrs J.F. Bireley? of Grand Junction, Colo., Mrs. Willard Temple of Summersville, Mo., Orville, Charlie, Ray, Tony, Homwer; Hazel and Lulu Noffsinger, all of Wray, also Mrs H.C. Funk of Wray.
The sympathy of many friends is extended the bereaved family.

Orval Noffsinger, 24, and Vera Lott, 19, married in Yuma on March 4, 1914.
Vera's sister Maude Lott, 20, married J. J. McIlvanie on October 3, 1914 in Yuma County.
In 1920 Yuma County, John McIlvanie is farming, 28, born in Kansas, Maude 26 in Colorado, and they have Helis eight months old, born in Missouri.
They moved to Curry County, New Mexico, and Maude is buried there 1893-1971 # 105270623, with John 1891-1973.
F. Hurschel Lott, 18, married Ethel Gross, 19, on April 21, 1928 in Yuma County..
Frank H. Lott 1909-1973 is buried in Linn County, Oregon, # 29384398, with Ethel M. 1909-1999.

June 5, 1919 "Mr. and Mrs. Orval Noffsinger of the Sand hills are the proud parents of an eight-pound daughter."

In 1920 Yuma County, Orval is farming, 30, with Vera 22. Cordela is 5, Ruby 3, and Lucille seven months.

In 1930 Yuma County, Orval is farming, 40, with Maud 33, Corelia O. 15, Ruby M. 13, Lucille 10, Opal 8, Loyd E. 6, Harold O. 4, Lavern H. 2, and Bernice A. five months.

In 1940 Yuma County, Orval is farming, 50, Vera 43. Lloyd 16, a janitor, Harold 14, LaVerne H. 12, Bernice A. 10, Josephine M. 8, and grand-daughter Patricia A. Beach 2.

Orval died December 4, 1967 in Coos County, Oregon, buried in the IOOF Cemetery, Lebanon, Oregon # 97295469.
Vera I. Jones, born June 18, 1896, died May 23, 1982 in Marion County, Oregon , spouse James.
She's buried in Portland, Oregon # 179309379, with James Jones 1894-1981.


Lucille Isabelle Lafayette, 86, of Dallas died Thursday, Nov. 10, 2005, at the Dallas Retirement Center. She was born in Wray, Colorado May 31, 1919, the daughter of Orville and Vera Lott Noffsinger.
She moved to Ladvele, Colo., and married Joe Coffey. They had a son, Jim. She moved to Lebanon in 1942.
In 1954, she married Erman J. Lafayette and they were married 23 years before they divorced. They had two sons, Julian and Mark.
She worked for Scoville Real Estate from 1964 to 1969 in Brownsville and then got her own real estate license in the early 1970s. They moved to the Holley area of Sweet Home in 1976, where they owned a farm. Lucille’s brother, Lloyd, was a real estate broker and they worked together as partners for many years. She did tax consulting for many years while she was a real estate broker.
Her son, Julian, took over the farm in 1990 and Lucille continued to help with the books. She stayed with Julian two days a week in Rickreall until 1997. In 1997, she moved to Dallas and retired in 1998.
She was a member of the Sweet Home and Dallas Christian Missionary Alliance Churches. She enjoyed accounting, tax consulting, yard and garden work and being with her grandchildren.
She is survived by sons Julian Lafayette of Rickreall and Mark Lafayette of Madras; sister Josey Homedew of North Bend; six grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by son Jim Coffey in 2004; a granddaughter in 2001, and siblings Cordelia (Corky) Walker, Ruby Marlene Swanson, Opal Bowes, Lloyd E. Noffsinger, Harold Orval Noffsinger, H. Lavern (Phil) Noffsinger and Bernice A. Laux.
Viewing will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Dallas Mortuary Tribute Center. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Crawfordsville Community Church. Vault interment will follow at the Lebanon IOOF Cemetery.

Cordelia Oliva Noffsinger married Clair B. Walker on June 17, 1935 in Adams County, Colorado.

Justin Robert Noffsinger, age 35 of Holyoke, CO died on July 18, 2017 in Holyoke, CO. He was born on April 08, 1982 in Wray, CO to Robert and Lori Noffsinger. He attended school at New Life Academy in Eckley, CO, and the public schools in Wray, CO. Following high school he attended Northwest Technical College, in Goodland, KS where he received his Degree in Network Technology. He also went on to complete Cat 5 and Cisco Certification which he used when he worked in Holyoke, CO, Ogallala, NE, Monte Vista, CO and Denver, CO. He particularly enjoyed his job in Denver, CO at Radio Resources where he maintained Radio Communication for the Denver Broncos and several of the Super Bowl games. In 2006 he was hired by Union Pacific Railroad in North Platte, NE where he worked as a Conductor for 3 years. In 2009, he formed a business with his brother Mike and they brokered freight for many produce companies in the Midwest.
Justin enjoyed golfing, riding ATV’s, camping, boating, jet sking, target shooting, and spending time with friends and family. He loved to volunteer and give back to his community. He helped build several Habitat for Humanity Homes and was a member of the Knights of Columbus in North Platte, NE. He was a wonderful Father, Brother, Son, and Friend!
He was preceded in death by his great grandmother Erna Brueggeman, grandparents Delbert and Evelyn Noffsinger, and Clarice Ann Brueggeman.
He is survived by his daughters Krista and Madison Noffsinger, and their mother Carmen Noffsinger of Holyoke, CO and family: parents Robert and Lori Noffsinger of Wray, CO: brother Michael and Alison Noffsinger, and their children Anthony and Kateri of North Platte, NE: sister Erica Noffsinger, and Jeff Rogers of Meriden, KS and family : grandfather Dale Brueggeman of Holyoke, CO: great aunts Wilma Brueggeman and Dorothy Brueggeman of Wray, CO: Dola Davis of Overton, NV and a multitude of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

Clora Funk married Sam Clinton Heltzel on August 4, 1947 in Yuma County.

When her mother Lillie died in 1952, Clora was "Mrs. Clora Heltzel of Bridgewater, Virginia."

Lula Izella Koenig, born December 5, 1908 in Colorado, died in San Diego County November 16, 1995.

Ervin H. Koenig, Jr., 80, born at Sterling Colorado, died in Santee, California Sept 3, 1999.

He was living with his parents in 1930 Sterling, and divorced in 1940.
Ervin, age 53, married Verna L. Leighton in Minnesota in 1972.


MAUD

Maud May Noffsinger Donovan 1888-1929 is buried in Linn County, Oregon # 28323643.

MARY


April 6, 1916 "A very pretty wedding occurred at the home of Mrs. Emma Bireley Sunday at 11 o'clock, when her son, John, and Miss Mary Noffsinger were united in marriage, Rev. A. N. Wolff performed the ceremony and the couple made their vows in the presence of thirty-five or forty friends and relatives. Mrs. Bireley is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Noffsinger, and has been raised in this community and is favorably known. They will make their home with the groom's mother at the present time."
Emma Bireley married E. H. Newman on April 20, 1919, recorded in Yuma County.

Mary E. Bireley and John J. Bireley divorced in Mesa County, Colorado in 1933.
John Bireley and Vella Poppleton married in Morgan County, Colorado on August 10, 1937.

When her mother died in 1952, she was "Mary Keck of Trinidad."

HAZEL

Hazel married Claty Nunn on June 12, 1927 in Saint Francis, Kansas.

In 1930 Otis Colorado, Claty Nunn 23 is a restaurant cook, with Hazel 22. His brother Delber 16 is living with them.

In 1940 Wray, Claty A. Nunn, 33, born in Nebraska, is a cook for the WPA. Hazel S. is 32, born in Colorado - they were in Cheyenne, Wyoming in 1935.

They moved to Boise, Idaho, and Claty did baking for Safeway and Albertson's stores in Idaho and Oregon.

When her mother died in 1952, she was "Mrs. Hazel Nunn of Wray."

Hazel Sarah Nunn 1907-1996 is buried in Boise, Idaho # 64472719, with Claty B. Nunn 1906-1983 # 64472726.

Kathyrn Marie Nunn, King, Phillips, 58, passed away on June 28, 2010 at her home in Yuma, Ariz. after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
Kathy was born April 24, 1952 in Grand Junction, Colorado. She was the second daughter of Hazel and Claty Nunn. The family made their home in Wray, CO. for the first few years of Kathy's life. She spent her youth in Colorado and Idaho and graduated from Borah High School in Boise, ID. in 1970. She attended Link's School of Business and Boise State University, both in Boise, ID., graduating with degrees in Computer and Information Sciences and Business. She was a member and past president of the Association for records Managers and Administrators.
Kathy married Danny E. King in 1971. The couple later divorced and Kathy continued living in the Boise area while employed at Associated Foods, Ore-Ida and the J.R. Simplot Corporation.
In the mid 1980's Kathy moved to Hailey, ID. and worked for Power Engineers. After leaving Power Engineers, Kathy began her career with the court system. In 1999 she reconnected with Jim Phillips, a former co-worker from her days at Power Engineers. The friendship quickly blossomed to a romance and they were married in Hailey, ID. on April 22, 2000. She and Jim had 10 wonderful, adventurous years living and traveling in Washington and Arizona. In 2009, Jim retired and they decided to make Arizona their home. They moved to Yuma and Kathy took a job with Yuma County as a Clerk of the Court where she was employed at the time of her death.
Kathy is survived by her husband, Jim; a step-daughter, Jackie Phillips of Portland, OR.; a sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Wayne Ellis of Boise, ID.; father and mother-in-law, Al and Jodee Phillips of Calimesa, CA.; brother-in-law, Gordon Phillips of Redlands, CA.; sister and brother-in-law, Tina (Phillips) and Don Gladden of Swansee, IL.; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Hazel and Claty Nunn.
She will be greatly missed by her loving husband, Jim, her family and her many friends. She will be remembered for her love of music and her beautiful voice, her fun-loving spirit, her cheerful smile and her kind and compassionate heart.

BIRDIE

When her mother died in 1952, she was "Mrs. Birdie Temple of Colorado Springs."
"Berda E. (Birdie) NOFFSINGER and Willard (Dick) TEMPLE were married in 1918 in Missouri.
Children were: Verna Leona TEMPLE, Velma Lucille TEMPLE, William Ray TEMPLE.
"Willard, born on 28 August 1898 in Indian Springs, Vernon County, Missouri, died in July 1973 at the age of 74 in Colorado Springs."

Berda E. (Birdie) NOFFSINGER was born in 1902 in Missouri.
She lived in Summersville, Texas County, Missouri in 1918. She appeared in the census in April 1930 in El Paso County, Colorado.
Berda died in July 1982 at the age of 80 in Colorado Springs, buried in Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Colorado Springs, Colorado" # 85799840.

July 7, 1983 "Services for Berda Evelyn Temple, 2525 S. Colorado 115, will be IO a.m. Saturday in the Lighthouse Temple, 32nd and Bijou streets, with the Rev. Robert Dunbar Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Swan-Law Funeral Home, 501 N. Cascade Ave.
Mrs. Temple, 81, died Tuesday in a Colorado Springs hospital. She was born Feb. 8, 1902, in Missouri. She had lived in Colorado since 1924 and in Colorado Springs since 1942. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Lighthouse Temple.
Survivors include a son, William R. of Colorado Springs; two daughters, Verna Mayhew and Velma Stone, both of Colorado Springs; a brother, Homer Noffsinger of Fort Collins; two sisters, Hazel Nunn of Boise, Idaho, and Lula Koenig of El Canon, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; 18 greatgrandchildren; and two great-great-granchildren."

Verna L. (Temple) Mayhew 1919-1996 is buried in Colorado Springs # 85742435.

HOMER


Homer is in Brush, Colorado in 1940, a filling station attendant, with Hazel 26, Dean 7, Jimmie K. 6, and Eunice 4. Sister Lula Noffsinger, 29 is a cafe cook.

In 1960 Mrs. Amos Olmstead of Yuma and Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Scott of Denver visited the Homer Noffsinger home in Loveland.

"Homer J. Noffsinger, 96, of Brush died Thursday, January 10, 2002 at the Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush.
Noffsinger was born Oct. 31, 1905, in Wray to James and Lillie Noffsinger . He married Hazel Wagner on Dec. 28, 1931, in Wray . In 1936, the Noffsinger family moved to Brush where he owned and operated the Brush One-Stop Service Station. In 1947, he opened the Noffsinger Motor Sales in Brush. When the Desoto cars stopped being manufactured in 1959, he closed the Brush dealership and moved to Pasadena, Calif., where he worked at the Nazarene College.
In 1962, the Noffsingers moved to Greeley where he owned and operated Noffsinger Used Car Motors. Later they moved to Fort Collins where he worked for Continental Investors. The Noffsingers moved back to Brush in 1995.
He was very active in the Church of the Nazarene, was a former member of the Brush City Council, the Lions Club and various automotive industry associations.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Hazel of Brush; one daughter, Eunice Needens of Brush; two sons, Dean of Austin, Texas, and Jim of Olathe, Kan.; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Eleven brothers and sisters and his parents preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Brush Church of the Nazarene, 500 Cameron St. Interment will follow in the Brush Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Heer Mortuary Chapel on Sunday 3-5 p.m., Monday 9-5 p.m. and Tuesday 9-11 a.m. Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the Brush Church of the Nazarene or to the Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center, 122 Hospital Road, Brush, 80723.

"Eunice E. Needens, 75, longtime Brush resident, passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2011, at the East Morgan County Hospital in Brush following a lengthy illness. She was born November 8, 1935 in Wray, Colorado to Homer & Hazel Noffsinger.
Eunice graduated from Brush High School in 1953. She attended Bethany Nazarene College in Bethany, OK. On November 6, 1955, Eunice married LeeRoy Needens in Brush. She was a member of the Immanuel Congregational Church.
While in high school, Eunice worked at Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center. Following high school, she worked as a telephone operator for Mountain Bell, a sales clerk at Coast-to-Coast Hardware Store, was a bookkeeper at Farmers State Bank in Brush; and worked as a secretary at Thomson School, Brush Middle School and Brush High School. She retired in 2000.
Eunice was very involved with her family and their sports lives. She was the #1 fan for LeeRoy during his basketball coaching tenure. She enjoyed watching her sons and grandchildren play sports. She enjoyed traveling and going to casinos.
Survivors include her husband, LeeRoy of Brush; 4 sons, Randal and his wife, Dawna, of Eaton, CO; Craig, Steven and his wife, Melanie, and Kevin, and his wife, Amy, all of Brush; 2 brothers, Dean Noffsinger of Bellevue, CO, and Jim Noffsinger of Louisville, KY; and 9 grandchildren, Jordan, Brock, Thalia, Doug, Lyndsey, Bryce, Amanda, Brady, and Colby. She was preceded in death by her parents."

TONY

Tony Noffsinger married Mildred Beaver in Yuma County on September 17, 1925.

Mildred was in Laird, Colorado in 1920, 12, born in Kansas, with widowed mother Frances W. Beaver 33 bon in Nebraska. Frances M. is 16 and Elsie 6. Francis' father Conrad Schuler 75, widowed born in Germany is with them.

Her father Emery Ellsworth Beaver 1882-1918 is buried in Wray # 16994931.
