John Heaston married Jane W. Barton in Iowa County, Iowa on July 21, 1873.
John Heasten cash-claimed a quarter in 13, 1S 44W in 1890, and timber-claimed another in section 14 in 1900.
April 1899 "John Heasten has been in town this week doing wagon work at Mercer's shop."
May 1900 "John Heasten is doing carpenter work for W. C. Grigsby,
at the completion of which he will join his family at Colorado Springs."
Jane Winifred (Barton) Heston 1855-1904 is buried in Wray # 144057613.
In 1910 Yuma County, John is 63, widowed, born in Ohio, farming, with Leila 22 Colorado, Alta 15 Colorado, Roy 31 Iowa and Kenneth 29 Iowa.
March 15, 1917 " Roy and Kenneth Heaston, from out Vernon way, left Sunday for Boulder where their father
, John Houston, is very ill at the home of a daughter,
and fears are entertained that he cannot recover. He
was so ill last week that he could not attend his daughter's
funeral, that of Mrs. Ed. Belzer, and since her death
reports say he is failing rapidly."
March 29, 1917
August 1917 "The Heaston farm out toward Vernon,
was purchased this week by Coonoy Renzelman, Jr., at forty-five dollars
per acre."

GLAPHIA
Glaphia J. Heaston married Edward W. Belzer on June 21, 1896 in Vernon.
Glaphia J. (Heasten) Belzer proved up a quarter in 34, 1S 44W in 1903.
Frank Edwin Belzer was born April 8, 1907 in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
In 1910 Yuma County, Edward and Glaphia are both 35, born in Iowa. She's had eight kids, all living. Myal 12, Mary 11, Willis 8, Dorothy 7, Samuel Gerry 5, and Frank 3.
Glaphia Jane (Heasten) Belzer 1874-1917 is buried in Vernon # 80208893.
In 1920 Yuma County, Edward is widowed, 44, with Dorotha M. 17, Grry S. 15, Frank E. 12, Florence E. 10, Louis F. 9, Helen G. 8, Elnora R. 7, Eldon B. 5, and Raymond 3.
Dorothy Belzer, 18, married Roy Smith on July 22, 1921 in Yuma County.
Dorothy B. Smith applied for employment as a key punch operator for the Chicago a & NorthWestern Railway on June 1953, born at Vernon, Colorado Nov 24, 1907.
Roy Richard Smith died in Cook County, Illinois on August 24, 1981.
September 24, 1948 Chicago
" ELDON B. BELZER, 34, of Palatine, operator of Arlington Heights disposal plant for three years, was killed instantly Saturday afternoon in an auto crash on Dundee road near Rand road. His automobile (shown above) in which he was riding alone was almost completely demolished when he apparently lost control of the car and it veered off the road, crashing head-on into a tree. The accident, which occurred on Belzer's thirty-fourth birthday, took place two miles from his home near Qaintens road and Northwest highway at 4:45 Belzer took charge of the Arlington Heights plant in 1945,
after the death of George C. Har.....He is survived by his wife Bessie Marie, daughter Sandra Marie, 18..Interment was at Ridgswood cemetery. Full military honors were accorded by VFW post 981, Arlington Heights. BELZER served in the army months: and nine sisters and brothers, all of whom were at the funeral services. "

Frank Belzer was in Alabama in 1940, married to Beulah, divorced there in March 1953, and died in Brazoria County, Texas April 11, 1998.
Helen Gertrude Karmer, born Sept 17, 1911 in Chicago, died February 29, 1988.
FindaGrave # 143905326 has her dying in Glendale, Arizona, wife of August P. Kramer.
Florence Elizabeth Belzer, per one tree, born Sept 14, 1908 in Wisconsin, died January 14, 1976 in Arlington Heights, Illinois.
"My Grandpa was willis john belzer. He was born in Wray colorado on may 18,1901.
His parents were Edward willis and Glaphia Jane Heasten" Sandi belzer freyermuth.
ALTA
In June 1911 Alta May Heasten performed a vocal solo at the eighth grade commencement program.
October 1913 " Miss Alta Heaston of near Vernon, came in Friday and assumed her
duties in the Lundy Cafe where she had accepted a position."
August 13, 1914 "Frank S. Wilson and Miss Alta Heaston were married Saturday
evening, August 8th. The marriage was performed by Rev. A. W. Rice in the presence
of the bride's sister, Miss Leila and brother, Ray Heaston.
The young couple have made no plans as to housekeeping."
September 1950 Greeley "Mr. and Mrs. Verner Wilson of Los Angeles,
Calif., spent their vacation with Mr. Wilson's mother and sister,
Mrs. F. S. Wilson and Leila May, and Mrs. Wilson's parents,
the Will Girvus of Flagler. Mrs. Wilson and Lelia May accompanied
the Wilson's as far as Salt Lake City, Utah, on their trip home
spending a few days sightseeing before returning."
June 12, 1951 Greeley "Mrs. F. S. Wilson and daughter, Lelia May, and brother, Roy Heasten, left on Wednesday for Los Angeles. Calif., to attend commencement of the U.C.b.A. where her son, Verner F. Wilson will receive his doctor's degree."

LEILA
October 1911 "Miss Lela Heastin of
near Vernon is assisting Mrs. P. A. Young with
her household duties, beginning last Saturday."
July 1914 "Miss Leila Henston returned Monday morning
from Denver and assumed her duties in the central office the
same morning. Miss Heaston spent the first few days of her
two weeks' vacation with her father, John Heaston of near
Vernon, and ten days ago went to Denver, where she
was joined by Miss Maude Johnson who is spending two
months in that city. The two went on to Boulder and enjoyed
several days outing in that city."
Donald Cecil Foote was born March 19, 1890 in Sherwood, Tennessee to Elias Harvey Foote.
December 17, 1914 "Word came to Wray today announcing the marriage of Miss Leila Heasten and Mr. Donald Foote,
which wedding occured yesterday at Boulder. Miss Heasten went up to Denver Wednesday
morning, and was met in that city by Mr. Foote and together they went over to
Boulder where the marriage occurred in the afternoon as stated above.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. John Heasten, who live south of Wray,
and has grown to young womanhood here, and has a host of friends who will rejoice in
her happiness and who wish for her and her husband a long and happy wedded life.
The groom is not so well known as he lived only a short time in Wray while he
and his brother were engaged in business here for a few months,
but during that time he made many friends who feel that he is a worthy
and prosperous young man. Mr. and Mrs. Foote will make their home on the groom's
ranch four miles from Boulder. The Rattler joins with the friends in extending
congratulations and best wishes."
January 1917 "Mrs. Donald Foote left Saturday morning for
hor home near Boulder after a three weeks visit with her
sister, Mrs. Fred Wilson of south of Laird, her father,
John Heaston of Vernon, and her two brothers,
Kenneth and Roy also of near Vernon."
In 1940 Boulder County, Donald 50 and Lela M. 52 are farming.
Donald 1890-1976 is buried in Eaton, Colorado # 58634698,
with Leila Margaret Foote 1887-1968 # 58634699.

Services 2:00 p.m. Tuesday from the Nunn Presbyterian Church. Interment at the Eaton Cemetery. To lie In state at the Eaton Chapel until noon Tuesday. "
KENNETH
April 1904 "Kenneth Heaston who was accidentally shot
last week by Alvin Parker, was taken to the County hospital
at Denver. After reaching there it was deemed unnecessary to
remove the ball so no operation was performed.
At this writing he is recovering nicely and expects to
return home some time this week."
January 1912 "Kenneth Heastin of Vernon was
in Wray yesterday and delivered a load of hogs
to the local markets."
May 13, 1915 " County Clerk McKinney issued a marriage
license for Kenneth Heaston and Miss Grace Wise,
last Saturday. We have not learned whether or not the weddinjr has occured."
December 28, 1916 "A little daughter was born to Mr.
and Mrs. Kenneth Heaston of near Vernon Friday,
December 22."
Kenneth Barton Heasten registered for WWI in Wray, born January 6, 1881.
In 1920 Wray, Kenneth is farming, 38, with Grace E. 31 and Gladys 3.
1923 Wray "According to the figures turned in by
Kenneth Heaston, who kept the check on the highway east
of town, 697 of the 875 cars that passed a given point
were Colorado cars and 178 of the cars that passed were
cars that carried other than a Colorado license.
In other words, there were about 60 tourist cars
passing each day."
Kenneth is running an electric shop in 1930 Wray, 49, with Grace E. 39, Gladys B. 13.
Brother Roy S. Heaston is a truck driver for the fish hatchery, 51, divorced, is living with them.
Kenneth, 59, no occupation, Grace E. 49 is an
elementary school teacher, Gladys D. 23 a stenographer and Roy O. is a laborer, 61 are in WSray in 1940.
Kenneth B. Heasten 1881-1943 is buried in Wray # 63831695.
Grace 1899-1983 is buried in Wray # 63831607.
Gladys Blanche Heasten was born December 22, 1916, name Orndorff in 1945, and as Sheridan in 1948. She died July 1995, last resience Chandler, Arizona.
ROY
1908
October 1908 "Roy Heaston returned last Friday from a few week's
visit in various in Illinois. He reports a pleasant time."
Roy Heasten married Gretchen Jordan on December 31, 1913 in Yuma County.
She was born March 30, 1891 in Nebraska per one tree.
(There was a Gretchen Hall in 1900 Gage County, born March 1891, with sister Minnie Hall5. They're living with another sister Daisy A. Haverland 25 born in Illinois and her husband Louis 28 Illinois.
January 20, 1916 "Mr. and Mrs. Roy Heaston,
of several miles south of Wray, left Tuesday for Denver,
where they will enjoy the stock show and then will go on
to Boulder and visit Mr. Heaston's sister, Mrs.
Donald Foote."
Roy proved up two quarters in section 13,
3 North 44 West, in 1916.
In 1920 they're living in Laird precinct, Gretchen's father born in Ohio, mother in Arkansas.
In 1930 Wray, Gretchen is teaching school, divorced, 39, boarding with the M.M. and Sarah Cruse family.
December 31, 1954 Greeley Colorado "Roy S. Heasten of Nunn.
Brother of Mrs. Don Foote and Mrs. Alta Wilson both of Nunn.
Several nieces and nephews also survive.

February 20, 1964 "Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln Wise visited Mrs. Grace Heasten in Greeley and Mrs. Hattie Laffoon in Loveland. Mrs. Heasten is Mr. Wise's sister and Mrs. Laffoon a cousin of Mrs. Wise."
