In 1870 Wayne County, Illinois, William Carson is 48, Miriam 43, George 21, Robert 20, William E. 15, James 13, Hettie 9, Andrew 7, Franklin E. 5, and Mary F. seven months. Robert Carson is 30.

In 1880 Wayne County, Illinois, William is a carpenter, 25, born in Ohio, with Susan C. 24. They have Charley E. 4, Robert E. 2, and Daisy B. nine months.
In 1885 Montgomery County, Iowa, William is a carpenter 31, with Catherine 28, Charles 9, Robert 7, John 3, "Selesta" newborn.

W.E. Carson and Susan C. Sparr had a baby on July 31, 1888 in Montgomery County, Iowa.

In 1900 Montgomery County, Emmett W. born October 1854 in Ohio, with Katie May November 1855 Pennsylvania, have William J. April 1882 Illinois, Celesta July 1884, Walter R. July 1886, Grace Sept 1890, Harry G. Oct 1892, Glee June 1895, Gail June 1897, and Jess W. June 1899, all seven born in Iowa.

William Emmett Carson 1854-1928 is buried in Griswold, Iowa # 180655032, with Katherine C. (Bowser) Carson 1856-1937.

In the same plot are twins - Ethel 1888-1893 and her sister 1888-August 1, 1888.

WERRIN

"Warren" Carson, 25, married Alma Yenter on March 24, 1925 in Holyoke.

In 1930 Wray, Werrin is a carpenter, 30, Alma 26 born in Colorado, with Donald 4, Ruth 3, Dewey E. 2, and Ivan B. one month.

Still in Wray in 1940, they've added Charles E. 7.

In 1954 Werrin J. and Alma L. Carson are living on Old Hwy 91. He's a carpenter with D.W. Carson.
Dewey E. and Mary E. Carson live a little south of them, also a carpenter.

Werrin Jesse Carson, born June 23, 1899 in Iowa, died March 24, 1988 in Clark County, Nevada.

Alma Louise (Yenter) Carson, born January 21, 1904 in Wray to Charles J. Yenter and Katherine K. Fassler, died December 16, 1994.
She's buried in Davis Memorial Park, Las Vegas # 185893464.
So is Werrin J. Carson 1899-1988 # 185893468.

"Charles Emmett Carson passed away March 31, 2017 after a courageous battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis. He was born on August 8, 1932 in Wray, Co. the youngest child of Alma and Werrin Carson. He moved to Las Vegas in the 1950’s with his family and pursued a career with his brothers at Carson Construction and later built an owned car washes. He retired and built a home in Ely, Nevada. He enjoyed the scenic area and especially his friends at the Senior Center and the VFW.
He was predeceased by his parents, his sister, Ruth (David), brother, Dewey and son Charles Jr as well as his partner Susan Martin.
He is survived by his daughter, Cynthia (Dennis Throm), grandchildren: Jillian (Jeremy Pepper), Charles III (Kimberly), great-grandchildren: Kaimana and Kekoa (Pepper) and Gavin Carson, Brothers Don and Ivan Carson. He had a very special bond with his nephew, Keith Carson and his family.
He leaves behind many more nieces, nephews, good friends and his beloved dog Neeko.
Charlie loved to build, tinker and invent. He enjoyed flying, fishing and visiting with his friends. He was wonderful dad, grandfather, uncle, cousin, friend and partner. He could fix just about everything except his lungs."

Ruth (Carson) David 1926-2007 died in Salida, Colorado, per # 123368079.
"Ruth Carson David died May, 30, 2007.
She was born Sept. 11, 1926, the second of five children to Alma and Werrin Carson of Wray.
After graduation from Wray High School in 1944 she moved to Las Vegas, Nev., and worked for the U.S. Weather Bureau during the last years of World War II.
The bureau afforded her the chance to follow a sense of adventure and she transferred to the Fairbanks, Alaska, station in 1945.
In Fairbanks, she met and married Jim Gunning in 1946. Together they owned and operated the Club Car Diner and had two children, Sherry and Jim. After divorcing, she and the children returned to the states in 1956 settling in Prescott, Ariz., where she was executive secretary for Southwest Forest Industries.
She married Robert (Bob) David in 1964. When they moved to Glenwood Springs in 1967 she worked for Industrial Resources, Inc. as office manager and executive secretary moving with the company to the Denver area in 1970.
After retiring in 1979, the Davids moved to Salida where she worked for Hank Florey and the Redwood Lodge.
She was an active member of the Prescott Parent Teacher Association and a Presbyterian Sunday School teacher there.
She belonged to the Denver area Women in Mining Association and was a member of the Salida First Presbyterian Church for nearly 30 years. She loved people, animals, plants and adventure. She will be missed.
Mrs. David is survived by her children, Sherry Faught of Salcha, Alaska, and Jim Gunning of Salida; granddaughter, Eden Morneau of Lodi, Calif.; brothers, Charlie, Ivan and Don Carson of Nevada and many stepchildren and their families.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bob in 2002 and her brother, Dewey Carson.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. June 8, 2007, at Salida First Presbyterian Church, 7 Poncha Blvd., with a reception at the church following the service."

Dewey Everett Carson, born Feb 16, 1929 in Colorado, died December 22, 1990 in White Pine, Nevada.
He had registered for WWII in Las Vegas, Nevada.


WALTER


In 1910 Harlan County, Nebraska, Walter Carson is 23, living with sister Celesta Newman and her hustand Jos L. Wm. Carson 22 is also with them.

January 4, 1912 Wray "Mr. and Mrs. Walter Carson of Alma, Nebraska, who has been visiting the former's parents, W. E. Carson and wife, north of town for a few days, returned to their home Saturday evening."

CELESTA
Celesta was married to Joseph L. Newman on May 1, 1907 in Harlan county, Nebraska by Judge O.E. Shelburn.

February 18, 1910 "Joe Newman and wife of Alma, Neb., who had been visiting Mrs. Newman's parents, E. Carson and wife of the north hills, returned to their home Monday."


In 1910 Harlan County, Nebraska, Walter Carson is 23, living with sister Celesta Newman and her hustand Jos L. Wm. Carson 22 is also with them.

In 1940 Harlan County, Joseph L. 56 born in Nebraska, with Celesta M. 56 born in Iowa, have Leland 30, son-in-law William M. Richaman 25 and Maxine L. Richman 22.
She's buried in Harlan County, Nebraska 1884-1966 # 101683090.
So is Joseph L. Newman 1884-1963 # 101679669.

EVERETT

Everett R. Carson 32 and Bessie L. 26 had Ward L. Carson 5 in 1910 Montgomery County, Iowa.
Bessie Swisher and Everett Carson had Bernard Morton Carson on October 15, 1916 in Montgomery County.
Bernard is buried in Brookfield, Linn County, Missouri 1916-1994 # 95868078.

GLEE

March 8, 1917 "Glee Carson of north of Wray, is planning to leave this evening if he can so arrange it, for Cedar, Minnesota, where he will be joined later by his family and where they expect to make their home in the future. His brother, Everett, and family also expect to move to Cedar within a short time."

Glee Carson married Avis White on January 1, 1918 in Yuma County.

1922 "A fine baby girl arrived at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Glee Carson last Friday, April 14."

September 1923 "Mr. and Mrs. Glee Carson and children and Mrs. Carson's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Will White, went to Denver the latter part of last week to attend the Post baseball tournament. They expect to return home Friday of this week. During Mr. Carson's absence from the Allen meat market Walter Bashford is substituting for him."

In 1940 Sterling, Glee Carson is a meat cutter, married but no spouse, born in Iowa.
Glee 1895-1970 is buried in Fort Logan # 3340148, with Avis 1898-1986.

CHARLES

"Charles Elmer Carson was born in November 6, 1875 in Illinois. He married Cora Elizabeth Reynolds on June 23, 1897 in Montgomery County, Iowa."

"When Cora "Coe" Elizabeth Reynolds was born on October 9, 1874, in Montgomery County, Iowa, her father, Robert Henry Reynolds, was 42 and her mother, Sarah Ann Flinn, was 38. She married Charles Elmer Carson on June 23, 1897, in Montgomery County, Iowa. She died on August 14, 1957, in Montgomery County, Iowa, at the age of 82."

GAIL

Gail Carson, 18, married "Dannie Roman" on July 19, 1915 in Wray.

Dannie was in Yuma County in 1910, with widowed father Stephen "Rounds" 40. Lita is 17, born in Kentucky, Ednia 14, Donnie 13, Hugh 11, Mary 8, and Maude 6, all born in COlorado.
Stephen is buried in Wray 1870-1964 # 68948506.
"He married Floria Adaline Carson at Floria's parents' home in Ohio County, Kentucky on February 12, 1891."

In 1920 Yuma County, Gail M. Carson is a carpenter, with Donnie 22 born in Kentucky. Stephen is 1, and Delbert 2.

Gail proved up 320 acres in section 25, 3 North 44 West, in 1922.
In 1930, Gail and Donnie are on 5th Street in Wray, with Delbert 14, Steven E. 11, Boyd E. 8, Joan E. 7, James R. 5, and Thomas J., 1.

In 1940 Wray, Gail and Donnie have Boyd E. 19, Joan E. 17, James R. 15, Thomas J.11, Dean E. 9, Gayle M, nine months, and Leo J. 3.

Clyde Carson was born Nov 23, 1901 in Elliott, Montgomery County, Iowa.

Clifford Clyde Carson, 18, married Mary Rowan on July 19, 1919.

They're next to Clifford C. Carson, 39, born in Iowa, with Mary M. 38 Kentucky, Jack L. 19 Paul R. 18, Mildred A. 15, Leland E. 13, Clyde C. 9, and Gary H. 4.

Clifford - 1901-2005 is buried in Wray # 59962214, with Mary Marjorine (Rowan) Carson 1901-1969 # 17083195.

Donnie Carson (Rowan) Carson 1897-1952 is buried in Wray # 17076484, with Gail McClain Carson 1897-1983 # 17083183.

Mary Marjorine Rowan, daughter of Stephen Oscar Rowan and Flora Adeline Carson, was born 22 May 1902 at Hartford, KY. She had an 8th graded education and married Clifford C. Carson on 19 July 1919 in Wray, Yuma Co CO. He was born 23 November 1901 in OH, son of William Emmett Carson and Susan Catherine Spar. Clifford was a carpenter. Mary died 9 September 1969 at Wray and Clifford died there on 1 January 2005. They had eight children-

WILLIAM


In 1910 Harlan County, Nebraska, Walter Carson is 23, living with sister Celesta Newman and her hustand Jos L. Wm. Carson 22 is also with them.

In 1920 Wray, J. William is a carpenter, 37, born in Illinois married to Laura 29, Nebraska. They have Raymond 8, Philip R. 7, Gwen 5, F. William 4, Muriel 2, and Ethel one month.

In 1940 Las Vegas, John W. is 56, Laura 49, Raymond E. 28, Gwen 26, Muriel 23, Ben E. 17, and Robert H. 15.
Laura Ziegler Carson, born in Nebraska June 12, 1890, died in Nort Las Vegas Sept 28, 1980.

Her parents J. Fred Ziegler 1848-1928 # 91524325 and Mary E. Ziegler 1855-1936 # 91524589 are buried in Harlan County, Nebraska.

Muriel Carson, born at Wray Sept 11, 1916, died October 12, 1955 in Elpaso To Texas, usual residence Las Vegas. She was a dental receptionist, never married.

Matilda Carson Hampton doesn't appear to be a close relative.

March 4, 1915
"The Death Angel called early yesterday morning to take Mrs. Homer Hampton to her rest, after that esteemed lady had suffered ill health for several years and has many times been near death's door. The end has been expected for some time, although for a few days preceding her death she appeared to be improving.
Matilda Olive Carson was born in Ohio county, Kentucky, October 30, 1870, and died at Wray, Colorado, March 3, 1915. She was united in marriage to Homer Hampton, at Hartford, Kentucky, November 14, 1893. To this union were born twelve children, nine of which survive the mother and now live in or near Wray. She with her husband and family came to Wray eleven years ago and have since made their home here.
Mrs. Hampton united with the M. E. church in childhood and lived a devoted Christian life in that church until four years ago , when she united with the Latter Day Saints church, where she was a faithful member until death.
The deceased leaves to mourn her departure, the husband, nine children and six brothers, Revs. John T. and R. P. Carson of this state, Rev. E. L. Carson of Illinois, G. C. and J. L. Carson of Kentucky and C. S. Carson whose home is in Arkansas.
The funeral services will be held this afternoon at the Latter Day Saints church and will be conducted by the Rev. J. R. Sutton of Limon, Colorado.
The Rattler joins with the many friends of this family in sympathizing with the bereaved ones."
July 1905 Wray "Mrs. J. S. Burke, who has been visiting her daughter, Mrs. Robt. P. Carson for the past three weeks, departed Tuesday for her home at Ft. Madison Iowa. She was accompanied by her grandchildren, little Ruth and Mary Carson, who will remain back there some two or three months."
August 17, 1906 "Those having books borrowed from my library will please return the same not later than Saturday August 25th. All must be in by that date, as I go to Conferenco Monday August 27th. Robt. P. Carson."
"Word was received this week that Mrs. R. P. Carson, who is visiting in Iowa, is quite ill at the home of her mother, her old trouble, asthma, coming back on her. The Gazette understands that Mr. Carson will bring her home and if she does not improve, will take her to California."


Mary Carson Hix was born at Hartford, Kentucky, February 2, 1861. Converted when a child and united with the Wesley Chape1 Methodist Episcopal church when twelve years of age.
She was married to George P. Hix, February 1, 1887. To this union were born eight children, seven of whom with the husband survive her, one having preceded her to tho other world. She was a devout Christian all her life, her life being one of evenness, gentle deposition and sublime faith, a devoted wife and mother, always patient and trying to make everyone around her happy.
She moved with her husband and family from near Owensboro, Davies County, Ky., to Wray, Colorado, March 23, 1905, where she resided until her death. She was a great sufferer for the last few months, but passed away peacefully without a struggle June 15th, 1906, perfectly resgned and happy in the thought that she was going to her reward.
The funeral was held Saturday afternoon, service being held in the Methodist church, after which interment took place in Grand View cemetery.
The Rattler joins with their friends in extending to the bereaved husband and children its heartfelt sympathy over tho loss of a loving wife and mother."
