Robert P. Carson was born August 4, 1874 in Ohio County, Kentucky to Thos H. Carson and D.V. Bennett.

In 1880 Fayette County, Indiana, John S. Burk is a farm laborer, 40 born in Indiana, with Eliza J. 31 Illinois. Arthur E. 10, Sarah B. 8, Ada 5, and Katie E. 3 were born in Illinois, Nellie M. 1 in Indiana.

Mary Carson was born December 6, 1903 at Danville, Iowa to Robert Perry Carson born at Hartfor, Kentucky and Sarah Barbara Burke born in Shelby County, Iowa. She was Mary Carson Calkins in May 1942 in Denver when a delayed birth certificate was obtained.

1903 Wapello, Iowa "Sermons were preached on Tuesday evening by Robert P. Carson at the summer session of the Burlington Iowa District conference."

July 1905 Wray "Mrs. J. S. Burke, who has been visiting her daughter, Mrs. Robt. P. Carson for the past three weeks, departed Tuesday for her home at Ft. Madison Iowa. She was accompanied by her grandchildren, little Ruth and Mary Carson, who will remain back there some two or three months."
July 7, 1905

August 17, 1906 "Those having books borrowed from my library will please return the same not later than Saturday August 25th. All must be in by that date, as I go to Conferenco Monday August 27th. Robt. P. Carson."
"Word was received this week that Mrs. R. P. Carson, who is visiting in Iowa, is quite ill at the home of her mother, her old trouble, asthma, coming back on her. The Gazette understands that Mr. Carson will bring her home and if she does not improve, will take her to California."

September 14, 1906 "The youngest child of Rev. and Mrs. R. P. Carson died at Ft. Madison, Iowa, where Mrs. Carson had gone some time ago on a visit, last Saturday at 7 p. m. and was buried Tuesday morning. Rev. Carson left for Ft. Madison Saturday night. The parents have the sympathy of the entire community in their sad loss."

October 5, 1906 Wray "Rev. John Carson of Arapahoe, Nebraska, was in the city a few days this week visiting his brother, Rev. Robt. Carson and family before the latter leave for their new home in Denver."

November 1906 Buena Vista Colorado "The Rev. Dr. R. P. Carson, evangelist, of Fowler, Colorado, will be here next Sunday to assist the Rev. Stillman in a series of revival meetings. The meetings will be continued for at least two weeks, probably longer. The Rev. Carson is known over the entire state as an evangelist and a church worker. The citizens of Buena Vista are cordially invited to attend these services."

March 1909 Fort Collins, Colorado

In 1910 Denver, Robert is a minister 35, Sarah B. 38, with Ruth M. 10 Illinois, Mary 6 Iowa, and Robert B. four months born in Colorado.

May 2, 1912 Wray "Rev. Robert Carson, who is the pastor at Manitou, Colorado, stopped off in Wray Tuesday on his way home from New York where he has been in attendance at the Men and Religion Congress held at that place. He went there a delegate for Colorado Springs."

May 1913 "R. P. Carson is out here this week fencing his farm and having it planted to spring crops."

September 16, 1915 Wray "Homer Hix and his uncle, Robert Carson, left Friday evening for Hamlin, Kans., where they go to engage in evangelistic work. They had come down from Denver the evening before and spent one day with Homer's father. G. P. Hix, and family."

June 29, 1916 Montrose, Colorado "Rev. John Carson returned Thursday from a visit with his brother, Evangelist Robert Carson, of Denver. On the way out Mr. Carson stopped at the Sunday school convention at Salida and at the Epworth League convention, reporting excellent sessions at both. The brothers went to Manitou to visit the Garden of the Gods. Evangelist Carson has received a call from Uncompahgre for meetings, beginning about the middle of July."

April 1917 "R. P. Carson is put looking after his ranch in the sand hills, putting up a windmill and doing some fencing. He has purchased a fine bunch of cattle to keep on his ranch this season."


April 13, 1918 Creede, Colorado "Rev. John Carson of Del Norte was called to Creede Wednesday to officiate at the funeral of John Wulff. Rev. Carson is a brother of Rev. Robert Carson who filled the pulpit in the Congregational church in our city two summers ago."

In 1920 Denver, Robert is a Chautauqua lecturer, 45, with Sarah B. 48, Mary 16, Robert B. 10, and Esther 7.

January 1922 " Rev. Robert Carson, pastor of the Lafayette Community church " performed a funeral service in Lafayette, Colorado.

In 1930 Denver, Robert is 45, Sarah 48, Mary 16, Robert B. 10, and Esther 7.

November 1930, Wilmington, Delaware "Epworth League devotional meeting; 7.30, preaching by the Rev. Robert P. Carson, D. D., a Congregational minister from Denver, Colorado, and widely known as a lecturer."

In 1940 Denver, Sarah B. Carson is 68, widowed, living with daughter Esther Haines 27 and her husband Charles t. 31. Charls is a deputy state treasurer, with son Charles t. 1.

He might be the Robert Paul Carson dying September 21, 1942, buried in Columbia Cemetery, Boulder, per # 50002500.
EXCEPT the November 14-16, 1932 newpapers have the obituaries for Rev. Robert P. Carson.

Mrs. Sarah B. Carson's obituaries are in the April 26 and 27, 1953 Denver newspapers.

NAOMI RUTH

Naomi, 17, married Gale J. Hughes on May 23, 1917 in Denver.

They're living with his parents in Denver in 1920, with Rollen E. 1.

Roland Edward Hughes 1918-1920 is buried in Denver # 33814516.

In 1930 Denver they have Gail M. 5 and Robert F. 3.
In 1940 Gaylen is married but no spouse, a disabled veteran, living with parents Fred 67 and Elle 61, all three born in Colorado.

Ruth is divorced in 1940 Denver, 40, working for the city traffic department. Gayle is 15, Bob 13.

Robert 1926-1943 was lost at sea, with a cenotaph in Denver # 33814514.


Ruth might be the Ruth C. Hill born November 6, 1899, dying April 21, 1981, buried in Fort Logan, per # 36073208 "Wife of Jefferson Milton Hill"
Jefferson is buried in Fort Logan 1908-1960.

Gail Marie Hughes ws born April 27, 1924 in Denver, name Love in 1944, and Phillips in 1968.

Galen J. Hughes 1899-1956 is buried in Los Angeles National # 80421617,
ESTHER

Esther Adele Carson married Charles Tep Haines on September 28, 1935 in Denver.
In 1940 Denver, Sarah B. Carson is 68, widowed, living with daughter Esther Haines 27 and her husband Charles t. 31. Charls is a deputy state treasurer, with son Charles t. 1.

Esther A. Haines, born August 15, 1912, died April 10, 1997 in Marin County, California.

Must be his father - Charles Tep Haines 1887-1921 is buried in Wheat Ridge, # 28540355. Lt. Bernard T. haines 1910-1935 "Lost at Sea" is on the same stone. SO is Peter S. 18931963.

MARY

October 28, 1904 Wray "Rev. Dr. H. E. Warner, P. E., at the evening services at the M. E. church last Sunday baptized the infant daughter, Mary, of the pastor and wife, Rev. and Mrs. Robt. P. Carson."


BROTHER JOHN CARSON

October 5, 1906 Wray "Rev. John Carson of Arapahoe, Nebraska, was in the city a few days this week visiting his brother, Rev. Robt. Carson and family before the latter leave for their new home in Denver."

John T. Carson was pastor of the Ansley, Nebraska church in 1908-1909.

In 1910 Brevard County Florida, John is 32, with Maud D. 28, Ruth A. 5 Iowa, Helen L. 3 and Walter 1, both born in Nebraska.


April 1, 1915 Montrose "Rev. and Mrs. John Carson and little son Walter returned to Ridgway Thursday. Mr. Carson returned to Colona again Friday, after seeing his wife safely home and went to Montrose to be in attendance at the Sunday school convention. Quite a number of Colonaltes went down to the convention in Montrose Friday and returned Friday night."

1915 Ouray Colorado "Rev. John Carson moved his household furniture from Log Hill mesa Saturday to his new charge at Olathe."

December 12, 1917 "According to the Del Norte Prospector, Mrs. John Carson, wife of the former pastor of the Methodist church at Olathe, is in the hospital at Del Norte, recovering from a dangerously acute attack of appendicitis. She was operated last Wednesday and at last reports was doing as well as could be expected."

In 1920 John, Maud, and the three kids are in Jefferson County, Colorado.

1927 Van Nuys "In January of this year a Sunday school and church was organized, minister, Rev. John T, Carson, secured as pastor and as superintendent of the Sunday school. "

November 1927 Van Nuys, California "Cahuenga Park community will hold a Thanksgiving ptogram in conjunction with the mid-week ser vice of the Community church on next Wednesday evening. November 23. In charge of the program will be Rev. John T. Carson, pastor of the church."

John is a Methodist minister in 1930 Tulare, California, 52, with Maud L. 48 and Helen L. 23.

John died in Los Angeles County, age 53, on August 10, 1930.

In 1940 Maud is in Los Angeles, 58, living with daughter Ruth Caffall, 35 and her husband L.D. 37.

Maud, born July 11, 1881 in Hutsonville, Illinois to Henry Draper and Lenore Holderman, died in Bandera County, Texas on October 14, 1959.
She's buried in Bandera # 77262098.

So is daughter Ruth C. Caffall 1904-1992 # 83592853.
" Services for Mrs. Ruth C. Caffall, 87, of Bandera, who died Friday in a Bandera nursing home, were to be held today at 2 p.m. in the Bandera United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jarrell Sharp officiating.
Burial was to follow in Bandera Cemetery.
Born Aug. 1, 1904 in Illinois, Mrs. Caffall had been a resident of Bandera since 1949, formerly residing in Los Angeles, Calif. She was a member of the Methodist Church. She married Leland Caffall on June 7,1936 in Los Angeles. He preceded her in death in 1989.
Survivors include a sister, Helen Alcorn of Hanford, Calif.; and two nephews, John and David Alcorn

Helen A. (Carson) Alcorn is buried in Hanford, California # 62937447.
"Helen was born in Gothenburg, Nebraska to Rev. John T. and Maud L. Carson. Being the daughter of a Methodist minister, Helen traveled throughout the United States with her family. She met her future husband, David Shannon Alcorn, when her family lived in Alpaugh, where her father was the Methodist minister at the local Methodist church. Helen and Shannon married in 1930 and made their home in Alpaugh until 1936, when they moved to the Guernsey area where they farmed. In 1964 Helen and Shannon moved to Oregon, but due to illness, they returned to Hanford in 1966. Helen was active in the community playing and singing at various funerals and weddings. She was the Hanford Methodist Church organist for over 20 years and actively involved in the women's auxiliary at the church, and enjoyed cooking and crocheting. Helen was a real lover of church music and seldom used a hymnal or sheet music, she knew it all by heart. She also had a deep rich alto voice. Helen was survived by her sons David and John.
Joined Methodist Church in 1913 in Ridgeway, Colorado. Certificate of Transfer from Alpaugh Methodist Church Feb. 14, 1937.

SISTERS

"The Death Angel called early yesterday morning to take Mrs. Homer Hampton to her rest, after that esteemed lady had suffered ill health for several years and has many times been near death's door. The end has been expected for some time, although for a few days preceding her death she appeared to be improving.
Matilda Olive Carson was born in Ohio county, Kentucky, October 30, 1870, and died at Wray, Colorado, March 3, 1915. She was united in marriage to Homer Hampton, at Hartford, Kentucky, November 14, 1893. To this union were born twelve children, nine of which survive the mother and now live in or near Wray. She with her husband and family came to Wray eleven years ago and have since made their home here.
Mrs. Hampton united with the M. E. church in childhood and lived a devoted Christian life in that church until four years ago , when she united with the Latter Day Saints church, where she was a faithful member until death.
The deceased leaves to mourn her departure, the husband, nine children and six brothers, Revs. John T. and R. P. Carson of this state, Rev. E. L. Carson of Illinois, G. C. and J. L. Carson of Kentucky and C. S. Carson whose home is in Arkansas.
The funeral services will be held this afternoon at the Latter Day Saints church and will be conducted by the Rev. J. R. Sutton of Limon, Colorado.
The Rattler joins with the many friends of this family in sympathizing with the bereaved ones."
Mary Carson Hix was born at Hartford, Kentucky, February 2, 1861. Converted when a child and united with the Wesley Chape1 Methodist Episcopal church when twelve years of age.
She was married to George P. Hix, February 1, 1887. To this union were born eight children, seven of whom with the husband survive her, one having preceded her to tho other world. She was a devout Christian all her life, her life being one of evenness, gentle deposition and sublime faith, a devoted wife and mother, always patient and trying to make everyone around her happy.
She moved with her husband and family from near Owensboro, Davies County, Ky., to Wray, Colorado, March 23, 1905, where she resided until her death. She was a great sufferer for the last few months, but passed away peacefully without a struggle June 15th, 1906, perfectly resgned and happy in the thought that she was going to her reward.
The funeral was held Saturday afternoon, service being held in the Methodist church, after which interment took place in Grand View cemetery.
The Rattler joins with their friends in extending to the bereaved husband and children its heartfelt sympathy over tho loss of a loving wife and mother."
