Roy L. Scudder, Laird

In 1910 Roy is in McDonough County, Illinois, 21, born Nebraska, is working at a boardinghouse.  In 1900 he was with his farmer parents Duston April 1857 and Alta Dec 1864, both Illinois.  Mary June 1884, son Jessie June 1886, Roy Sept 1888, Malissa Jan 1893, all born in Nebraska and Ervin Sept 1899 Illinois.

One tree said Jennie Viola Perkins was born January 19, 1890 in North Platte, Nebraska, and died after 1940 in Denver.

In 1916 Roy was a witness for the claim of neighbor Joe A. Rhoads.

Roy registered in Yuma County, saying he was born in York Nebraska September 17, 1888, and had a wife and child.

April 1919 "John E. Casser of Timpas, Colo., and Miss Melusa J. Scudder of Alvin were married this week, the ceremony having been performed by Rev. W.T. Gatley of the Methodist Episcopal church."  - the on-line records say "John E. Crosser and Melissa Scudder"

Mellissa was Roy's sister born January 1893 in Illinois.  John Edward Crosser, born April 27, 1892 in Maryland, registered in Chase County, Nebraska.   John and "Melicy J." are in La Junta, Colorado in 1920, with no occupation.  In 1930 they're back in McDonough County, Illinois, where John is a school janitor, and they have three daughters, Leota 9 Illinois, Edward R. (yes a daughter) 8, Colorado, and Margaret 3 Illinois.

In 1920 Yuma County Roy and Jennie V. 29, have Eva F. 6, born in Nebraska.

Roy proved up two quarters in 2, 3N 43W in 1921.

In 1930 Yuma County they're farming, Eva is 16, and Duston R. 2 was born in Colorado.

In 1956 Denver Roy L. is an elevator operator, and he and Jennie V. live at 2242 S. Galapago.

Roy's will was probated in Denver County in 1961.

Duston married Margaret Colleen Lokie August 27, 1950 in Auburn, Nebraska.  She was born March 15, 1928 in Nebraska City.  In 1956 Duston R. (Margaret C) is a dept mgr. for Robinson Brick & Tile, and they live at 2901 S. Bellaire.

He's in Boise, Idaho in the 1990's

Eva F. Anderson -  Sept 30, 1913 - May 29, 2006  is buried in Fort Logan 72596827
