In 1880 Nemaha County, Nebraska Sam. Odell is 32, Sarah J. 24, Mary J. 8, George 4, and Charles F. 3
In 1900 Jewell County Kansas, Samuel Odell March 1845 in Tennessee, has been married 25 years to Sarah, Feb 1857 Iowa. They have Mary J. Sept 1871 Iowa, George H. March 1876 Texas, Charles F. Jan 1878 Kansas, and Freddy M. Nov 1884 Iowa. Sarah has had six children, three living, so Mary must be from a previous marriage of Samuel.
1905 "Mr. A. Rook, who has been visiting his sister and family, Mrs. C.M. Odell for the past week, departed Sunday night on No. 14. He will visit awhile with his sister, Mrs. J.H. Ratcliff at Stratton before returning to his home in Iowa."
In 1910 Samuel, 56 and Sarah J. 52, Mary J. 38 are in Yuma County.
On the same page is George H. , single, living alone, Frederich M. 25 married to Edna 18? Kansas,
and C.Frank 33, married six years to Mary F. 24 Kansas. They have George 5, Franklin 4, and Samuel M. 2, all born in Kansas.
1914
1913 "The Odell Bros. have been threshing in the hills the past week on the Rowan, Baccus, and Wilson farms."
1915 "Sam and Geo. Odell, eight miles north, have exchanged their section for a farm in Missouri and expect to go to the 'Show Me' state as early as weather conditions will permit, because of the necessity of a lower climate for the health of the elder Odell."
Samuel, George and Charles all claimed land in 1916, all together in 3N 42W and 3N 43W, and Samuel did a cash claim of 40 acres in 1N 44W in 1924.
1916 "The little son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Odell, a boy of four or five years, was painfully scalded last Saturday morning. Dr. Kitzmiller was called to dress the burn. The little fellow is getting along nicely at present. Another case which shows how badly we need a phone line north from Laird."
Fred M. Odell proved up land in 13, 3N 43W in 1919.
George's witnesses were Daniel C. McGinnis, Lorin C. Clifton, John E. Evans, and Vern E. Snyder, all of Laird.
1918 "FOR SALE - 42 head of mostly high grade Hereford yearling heifers, fat - F.M. Odell"
Charles Franklin Odell registered in Cambridge, Nebraska, saying he was born January 24, 1878,
In 1920 Frontier County, Nebraska "Frank" doesn't have an occupation. They hae George 15, Franklin 14, Samuel 12, Charlotte 6, Harold 3, and James M. 1. Elsie Ned, sister 20, is with them.
In 1930 Furnas County, Nebraska Charles is a highway contractor, with Harold C. 13, Nebraska, James M. 11 Nebraska, Charotte M. 11 Colorado ?, and Anna F. 6, Nebraska.
In 1940 Furnas County Mary is widowed. Harold 23 a rodman for highways, James 21, a gardener asistant , and Hannah 16 are with her.
Wonder if 15012508 in Denver Fairmont dying Oct 2, 1941 is the same one.
Harold C. Odell June 2, 1916 - Dec 20, 2000 is buried in Forest Lawn Covina Hills, California
In 1952 Hastings, Nebraska James M. (Lila) is a driver for Kan-Neb Natural Gas.
James M. Odell Sep 29, 1918 - Oct 4, 1997 is buried in Fairview Cemetery, Cambridge, Nebraska
Samuel Odell, private Company I, 1st Tennessee Cavalry, died Nov 27, 1930, and is buried in Wray.
