Raymond and Marie Louise (Flageolle) Rollins, Happyville

Raymond Clifford Rollins was born June 30, 1886 at Pesoturn, Illinois (per the WWII) and in Champagne Illinois for the WWI.

William G. and Margaret are in Smith County, Kansas in 1910, with Velma 17, Bryan 14, and Bessie 10, all three born in Kansas.
(Bryan Milo Rollins 1896-1974 is buried in Eugene, Oregon # 59724733.
Velma Fern (Rollins) Schuster 1892-1982 is buried in Cody, Wyoming # 90325281.)

William 1852-1926 is buried in Lebanon, Smith County # 112216606. So is Margaret A. 1857-1960 # 112216668.

August 5, 1915 - marriage licenses issued by County Clerk McKinney "Raymond C. Rollins of Happyville and Miss Marie L. Flageolle of Kirk."

September 7, 1916 " Mr. and Mrs. Ray Rollins and Mrs. Al Brady were called over to the South Divide Tuesday on account of the death of their little niece who died of the whooping cough. They went via auto Tuesday, returning Wednesday evening."

Raymond proved up two quarters in 32, 2S 46W and 5, 3S 46W in 1918.
1918 "C.J. Dunn, Roy Upp and families were last Sunday visitors at the "Roy Rollins" home."

Raymond and Louise had Marie Fern in St. Francis, Kansas on July 6, 1920. She died May 3, 1997, as Marie Lewis.
She was Marie Caldwell in 1949, living at one time at 929 S. Raleigh in Denver.

In 1930 Stratton, Colorado, Raymond is a monument salesman, 44, Louise M. 36, Leo R. 11, Marie F. 9, William K. 7, and Berniece D. 5.
In 1940 Denver, Raymond is a plasterer, 53, born in Kansas, with Louise 43 in South Dakota. William is 17, Berniece is 15, and Dolores 4.

Raymond 1886-1970 is buried in Wheat Ridge # 168867005, with Louise M. 1897-1984 # 168867045.

Mauda was in Woodson County, Kansas in 1905, age 14, with parents Albert Rollins 41 and Lizzie A. 29. Lizzie is 29, and there are two Strand kids, Carl 7 and Anna O. 4.

Leo 1918-2011 is buried in Homer, Alaska # 79381588
"Mr. Leo Rollins died 10/13/2011 at his home in Homer, Alaska. Mr. Rollins was 93 years old. He was a longtime resident of Homer. He was the son of the late Raymond and Louise Rollins.
Leo married Edna Wilson and the family moved to Alaska in 1949. In 1952, the family moved from Fairbanks to Homer.
A true pioneer spirit, Leo never met a piece of machinery he could not operate or repair. He operated cranes that helped build Homer, Ninilchik and Seldovia into what they are today. He built docks, drove pilings, dredged harbors, moved boats and buildings. He bulldozed trails and paths that are some of the streets we travel on today. He helped transport, drill and set some of the original Homer Electric Association power poles north of Anchor Point. His mechanical knowledge and expertise was shared with many people when they needed help.
Leo has always been an outdoorsman including hunting, fishing and riding horses. Leo enjoyed building black powder pistols and rifles, prospecting and riding all-terrain vehicles. In his 80s and 90s he was still active in all these interests. One of Leo's pastimes had been racing cars. He was one of the founding members of the Homer Racing Association. They raced on the ice close to the south shore of Beluga lake until moving to their present location. Leo, in his ice racing car number 30, won many races and entertained spectators for years.
Leo's broad smile and vast knowledge surrounded him with many friends. His experience about moose and game on the lower Kenai Peninsula will be missed by his friends and loved ones.
Leo is survived by his children, Patricia, Cheryl, Bobbie and foster son Jack Helgen, and his sisters, Bernice DeSylva and Delores DeSylva. He also is survived by loved ones that include grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews too numerous to list. "

William K. Rollins 1923-1988 is buried in Phoenix, Arizona # 135288107, with Arlene E. 1924-2008.
William K. Rollins, 65, of Wittmann, a retired vice president and production manager for Designer Bathware, Inc. died Dec 6, 1988. He was horn in Denver. Survivors include his wife, Arlene E.; six daughters; three sisters; a brother, 24 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren

Arlene E. Rollins 83, of Wittmann, passed away on July 7, 2008 in her home with loved ones at her side. Arlene was preceded by husband Wm K. Rollins. She is survived by her brother Edmond Jackson 91, ( 6 ) daughters Gloria, Billie, Jo Anne, Betty, Jane and Debbie, 28 Grandchildren, 52 Great-Grandchildren and 8 Great-Great-Grandchildren."

Delores E. DeSylva is with Arthur T. De Sylva, a welder for Kaiser Steel in 1968 Napa, California.
Arthur Thomas DeSylva was born September 26, 1931 in Alameda County, California, mother Wing.

After a long illness, Napa resident, Art DeSylva, peacefully and quietly passed away on June 15th, 2017 at Kaiser Hospital, with a daughter and a granddaughter at his side. He was 85. He was married to Dolores for nearly 65 years. Together, they had three daughters: Shirley Jones, Val DeSylva, and Arleta Halterman. He is survived by his wife, his three children, and five grandchildren as well as nine great-grandchildren. Art retired in 1994 after 29 years as a boilermaker with Kaiser Steel and some time with NRA Construction. He was known at the Napa Valley Horsemen’s Association and Boots & Belles square dancing group. He was a consistent volunteer at both St. John’s and St Thomas.
A graveside service is planned for 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 22nd at Tulocay. Potluck Gathering immediately follows at the family home, 2811 Cypress Street, Napa. Everyone is welcome.

Our beloved Darlene De Sylva departed our presence on Thursday, November 7, 2013 while at home with her family. She was born February 10, 1925 in Stratton, Colorado, the daughter of Ray and Louise (Flageolle) Rollins. Darlene is survived by her Son - Ronald R. Flemming of Parker, CO; and Daughter - Barbara J. Clark of Morrison, CO; 6 Grandchildren and 9 Great grandchildren who knew her as "G G"; and survived by one sister Dolores De Sylva. She was loved by everyone who knew her and was especially loved by all her family and friends.
Darlene is buried in Fort Logan.

Marcelle "Mike" Velma Bennion died Sept. 28, 2001, in Salt Lake City with loving family by her side.
She was born Nov. 10, 1922, in Mankato, Kan., to Ray and Velma Schuster. She was raised and educated in Cody. She married Bill King of Cody in 1940, and they later divorced.
She worked at the Mountain Bell Telephone Co. in Cody for years and moved to Lovell where she married Vern Bennion. They had their marriage vows sealed in the Temple in Idaho Falls in 1980. She eventually moved to Casper to be with family.
She enjoyed bingo, watching tennis and spending time with her family.
Survivors include daughter Sandy Loomer of Casper, son Randy (Jody) King of Rochester, Mich., sisters Belva Norwood and Norma Roemmich of Cody, Margaret (Ralph) Thompson of Casper and Neva (Merrill) Lindley of Gardena, Calif., brother Philip (Doris) Schuster of Evanston, 12 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and one brother, husband Vern Bennion, ex-husband Bill King and sons Dwight "Dewey" King and Billy King.
