Emma Markwad married James W. A. Redhouse in Denver on April 4, 1893.

They're in Pottawatomie County, Kansas in 1895, J.W.A. a watchmaker, with Emma 24 and infant daughter.

"Charles Markwad was born in Germany, September 22, 1844. He came to the United States in 1876 and settled in Lake county, Illinois. In 1886 he moved to Frontier county and lived there until 1900 when he moved to this county. Last April he was taken sick and after a time went to Omaha for treatment, but while he got some relief for a time, there was no marked improvement, and he returned home since which time he grew gradually worse, and the complication of diseases resulting in dropsy which was the direct cause of his death on Saturday, February 13, 1909, at the age of 65 years. He is survived by his widow and five children three boys and two girls; Mrs. Emma Redhouse, of Honolulu, Hawaiian Islands, who is here visiting; Mrs. Etta Pope, of Georgetown, Washington, who was unable to come on account of sickness; August; Ernest and Charles who live here. The deceased was a conscientious, upright man, a good father and loving husband, and the bereaved family have the sympathy of all in their affliction. The funeral services were held in the Baptist church Monday afternoon, Rev. E. Burton officiating. Friday 19 February 1909 "

J. W. A. Redhouse married Mary Spencer on September 9, 1911 in Honolulu.
In 1915 Mary Redhouse, born at Honolulu, left for her permanent residence in Manila. She said her husband was a naturalized citizen.
Mary was alone in 1918 Honolulu, boarding at Orlando K. Auld.

In 1930 Emma is in Omaha 60, with daughter Gladys Gerke 31 and Betty F. 12.
Emma was delinquent on taxes for that land in 1933.

Etta Miller married James Hamilton on February 20, 1930 in Littleton, Colorado.

POSSIBLE " Connie J. Golightly of Berthoud passed away April 28, 2010 at McKee Medical Center in Loveland. She fought a brave and courageous fight with lung cancer but, other complications ended her almost-three year battle. She was born May 11, 1950 in Longmont to Eugene and Maxine Howell. She graduated from Poudre High School in Fort Collins. She married Jan Golightly on June 11, 1971 in Denver. He preceded her in death November 12, 2005. She moved from Westminster to Berthoud in 2006. Connie loved being with her granddaughter, and enjoyed gardening, remodeling, reading, and volunteer work. Connie is survived by her father; daughter Shelan Golightly; granddaughter Alena Golightly; sister Jaki Reddington; step-son Jim Golightly; and her good friend and caretaker Margaret Lovell. She was preceded in death by her mother and her brother, Richard Howell. Memorial service, Thursday 2 pm, Viegut Funeral Home in Loveland. Contributions may be made to the Connie J. Golightly Memorial Fund in care of Viegut Funeral Home."
Richard Jay Howell, 50, of Berthoud died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003, of injuries he suffered in an automobile accident.
He was born Oct. 15, 1953, in Greeley to Eugene Jay and Maxine Naomi Howell. He grew up in Lakewood, at Ted’s Place north of Fort Collins and in Berthoud.
Mr. Howell attended Berthoud High School, was a member of the B Club in wrestling, was a sprinter on the track team and played football. He was Officer Howell in “Aunt Cathie’s Cat,” his junior class play. During his senior year, he joined the Marine Corps.
After serving in the Marines, he worked for Port-A-Stall, Great Western Sugar Co., Celestial Seasonings and Allegro Coffee in mechanics, welding, pipefitting, electrical systems and construction. He took computer and music classes at Colorado State University and Front Range Community College.
Mr. Howell was known as Dick to his family and “Howdy” to his friends.
He was a diehard Oakland Raiders and New York Yankees fan. He played, sang and composed music.
Survivors are his father, Eugene Howell of Loveland; two sisters, Connie Golightly and husband Jan of Westminster and Jaki Reddington of Centennial; a niece, Shelan Golightly of Westminster; and a special friend, Kathie Thompson.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Allnutt Funeral Service Hunter Chapel, 2100 N. Lincoln Ave., Loveland.
Because of his love for his animal companions, Buddy, Rusty, Trucker and other pets he rescued, donations can be made to the Larimer Humane Society in lieu of flowers."

Bette F. Murnin, age 92, was born Elizabeth Floy Gerke on March 18, 1918, the only child of Ray and Gladys Redhouse Gerke in Omaha, NE. She died September 8, 2010, at the Aiken Regional Medical Centers, Aiken, SC. Her Funeral will take place on Monday, September 13, 2010 at 11am at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Aiken. The family will receive freinds on Sunday evening, 6-8pm at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken, SC. A precocious child, Elizabeth became "Bette" while in high school and graduated from Benson High with a Dance Scholarship in hand to Baker University, Baldwin City KS. Graduated with a BA in Secondary Education, Physical Education was her major and Social Studies her minor. While in college she earned a Bronze Medal in Archery in the Olympics. Her worldview as an educator was already formed. While at Baker, Bette was active in the Alpha Chi Omega women's fraternity and remained active all of her life. During World War I and II Alpha Chi Omega offered its support by helping working mothers who were married to service men by providing day nurseries and helping orphaned French children.
She and her then husband, Burl H. Maxwell, were co-owners and managers of the College Café following WW II, across from Baker's campus. In 1948, Mr. Maxwell accepted the position of Principal and Teacher of Grades 5-8 at the Kittredge Elementary School in Kittredge, CO. Bette worked as a dietician in Wheatridge, for several years. She worked with the 1950 Census. Her picture appeared on the cover of Life Magazine wearing skis as she visited Rocky Mountain residences. She then worked for the Office of Price Stabilization under the Eisenhower Presidency, a career in Federal Employment she returned to later. Following their divorce, Bette then taught Girls Physical Education in Brighton and Sterling, CO, and then Juneau, AK. After a year in Juneau, she moved with her two sons Robert and Chris to Elkhart, IN, where she taught at Moran Jr. High. In 1958, she began work towards a MA in H. S. Guidance and Counseling.
Upon completion of her Masters degree, in 1960, she started the first High School Guidance Program in Merrillville, IN. In 1966, Bette went back into federal employment with the US Department of Education at the Chicago Regional Office. She became a Program Specialist designing, implementing and evaluating projects in the Upper Midwest Region and especially enjoyed her work on Native American Reservations. While living in Chicago she married Joseph A Murnin. Shortly after their marriage, Mr. Murnin died from a coronary infarction. A distinguished officer during WWII, he was buried in the Gettysburg National Cemetery NFS Annex. Her casket will be placed just above his. Bette remained with the Department of Education and transferred to the Denver Regional Office to be near her mother. Bette was active in the Federal Employees Union and NEA at the local, regional and then on the national level. She served on the Board of Directors and as Secretary of the NEA. Bette retired from the Department of Education in 1985. In 1997, she moved from her Lakewood, CO, townhouse to Aiken, South Carolina, where her son Christopher and wife Nina live. She then spent time living in Summit Trinity, and in Mattie C. Hall before moving to Azalea Woods where she resided at the time of her death. She is survived by two sons; Christopher Maxwell, Aiken, SC and Rev. Robert Manning Maxwell. Belen, NM. five grandchildren; Heather Seider, Aiken, Todd Maxwell, Summerville, SC, Jeff Maxwell, Tuscan, AZ, David Maxwell, Irwin, TN and Karen Morris, Hernandez, NM. She is also survived by three great grandsons; Ethan Morris and Spencer Morris, Hernandez, NM and Brandon West, Augusta, GA.
